South Sudan’s Kiir dissolves all SPLM structures

November 15, 2013 (JUBA) – South Sudan’s president and chairman of the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), Salva Kiir Mayardit, in a surprising move today has dissolved all the structures of the party.

These include the highest executive organ, the Political Bureau (PB) and the National Liberation Council (NLC).

Kiir made the decision during the opening of the new SPLM office in Juba. He verbally declared that the structures were dissolved to the surprise of many at the occasion.

He said he acted in that way because the party national convention, which was supposed to elect new leaders, had delayed since May, elapsing the lifespan of the existing structures.

Only the secretariat will function until he appoints an interim body.

More details to follow....

Incompetent Kiir has gone mad. Kiir wants to destroy the SPLM but the SPLM will instead destroy him. Dr. Machar and the rest of the like-minded visionary SPLM leaders should take immediate action against this dude. This is a critical move…

          Kim Deng,
Don’t assume that all Dinkas like what Kiir did. There are Dinkas who don’t agree with him even in Warap. Kiir becomes stronger when you attribute his mistakes to all Dinka. He will rule South Sudan for 100 years as he said if you call him a Dinka King. Nuer in 4 states, and Dinka in 7 states, there is no way to defeat him by force or democracy.
Be national, that is how to get allies.

Thank you brother Ahmed Chol. Kiir got support from the beginning because he was seen as someone who was working for the unity of South Sudan but I and most people lost hope in him. I am from Warrap but that does not mean I have to follow blindly because Kiir is from Warrap or Dinka.

Kiir is really trying to get ride of the SPLM founders and those really sacrificed their life for sack of this nation. Now this is the real mess. If Kiir thinks by appointing new faces like those of Riek Gai and Telar to make him remind in power, then he is waiting his time. What Dr. Riek told him that his time is finnish is damn true. Don’t wait your time Kiir Mayardit.

Kimdoms come in all reigns, but RSS [the Dinka Kingdom) is differ from all since it reigns through autocracy rule. The Dinka empire tribalist nature has been confirmed since its inception in 1983. Gross human rights violations were committed by late King, Garang’s forces against a number of ethnic groups in South Sudan, which included massacres.

In early 1980s, Garang’s SPLA forces conducted massacre against Gajaak sub-clan of Eastern Jikany Nuer simply because they were believed to side with Samuel Gai Tut’s group of Anya-Nya II. Many lives were lost especially women and children while destroyed almost all the villages along the Baro/Sobat River completely. Some people may wonder why Col. Gatluak Gai got killed while in the middle...

of peace processes to re-join the rising-Kingdom. Col. Gatluak’s death is not a big surprise to those who know the motive behind this Kingdom. The Dinka Empire has been using the SPLM party and SPLA as tools to pursue interest(s) of one ethnic group (the Dinka) at the expenses of others in the South.

1st stage, the rising-Kingdom sharpened its edges since day one when it hijacked the movement from its founders (separatists), eliminated separatists and imposed its “New Sudan,” vision on South Sudanese in 1983. And its first King, Garang declared that, “the principle objective of the SPLA/M must not be separation, but united secular socialist/New Sudan.”

    repondre message

  • 15 November 2013 16:38, by Kim Deng

He went further and mentioned on many occasions that, “it must be reiterated that the principle objective of the SPLA/M is not separation for the South. The South is an integral and inseparable part of the Sudan.” Garang declared, “We are not secessionists. And if anybody wants to separate even in the north, we will fight him because the Sudan must be one.”

  • 15 November 2013 16:38, by Kim Deng

Was it not the same separation the separatists he (Garang) eliminated were fighting for that the rising-Kingdom shamelessly claims to take its credit? Garang himself gave order to his junior, Kerubino Kwanyin Bol to reject the burial of separatists’ leader, Samuel Gai Tut after they killed him, instead to have his “corpse given eighty lashes daily until it decomposed.”

There is nothing called Dinka Kingdom, what you would need to know not every Dinka like what Kiir is doing and many Dinka are supporting change within the SPLM not only Nuer. please let us be nationalist when arguing. I disagree with Kiir action on dissolving part structures including NLC. If it is because the national convention has delayed why today?

The SPLM constitution doesn’t give powers to Chairman to dissolve the structures, but only to appoint political Bureau but National Liberation Council is the elected body that Kiir have no power to dissolved. I think the point here is that Kiir wanted to chase people away from SPLM by force. I don’t support this and those who advice Kiir like Telar must tell Kiir that is mistake and he will regret

Yes, Naath changing regime normally come when citizens have the same voice. I think the SPLM will split into two parties and that’s where the change will come. Let me assure you kiir will not leave SPLM but people can still choose what to do. Formation of another SPLM beside his will make difference. Let’s united as citizen and face Kiir.

What you need to do is asking the same kiir to get prepare for general election and use democratic process to defeat him. That is why I am saying having another party will bring change. Talking of killing is not good.
