Wal Nyuot Kuol, chairperson of state anti-corruption told Sudan Tribune on Monday that the deadline for declaration of income, assets and liabilities is the 31 March; a postponment of the original December 2011 deadline.

On 9 December 2011 the Government of South Sudan (GoSS) made a decree demanding all civil servants declare their assets and income.

Kuol said although 13 ministers, and nine advisers and members of the assembly have made their declarations, some are waiting for deadline.

He explained that due to a lack of access to telecommunications his team had been forced to travel the state to collect information, which had been suspended due to technical difficulties with their vehicle.

Funding for the repairs and the administrative costs of the commission are yet to come from GoSS, according to Kuol.
