July 1, 2011 (JUBA) – South Sudan on Friday conducted a mock parade by its
organised forces a week before the region officially separates from the rest of Sudan and becomes independent on July 9.

The long parade involved thousands of the trained members of various organised forces including the army, police, civil society groups, cultural dancers and civilians. It was attended by the region’s Vice President, Riek Machar Teny, and a number of ministers, MPs as well as senior officers in the military and police.

The event took place at the mausoleum of the late John Garang, who led South Sudan’s largest rebel group the SPLA/M for the duration of the two-decade war with Khartoum.

It was marked with three artillery gun salutes by the army and ended with the singing of the national anthem for the soon to be Republic of South Sudan.

In a statement after the occasion, the Secretary General of the government
Abdoun Agau, told the press that final rehearsals were scheduled for July 5 before the actual celebration of independence on July 9.

He added that a number of observations and recommendations were made by the Vice President to improve the parades on the actual day of independence
celebrations, particularly on the marches of the groups of non organised forces.

Around 25 heads of state are expected to attend the event as well as the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon as well as the UN General Assembly’s President, in addition to hundreds of other foreign dignitaries.

The region is due to become the 54th country in Africa and 193rd in the world (according to UN membership) after its formal independence from the rest of Sudan on July 9.

Folks, It is very very clear that everything good come from Nuer, Equatoria and Shuluk. I can tell you that without Dr. Riek Machar, there wouldn’t be South Sudan Independent today.

The so called coward Dinka Bor knew it very well eventhough they lost many people in 1991 through the changed made by Dr. Riek Machar, it was because Dr. John Garang used all non related Dinka Bor as shelter to rescued himself from death.

    Odinga,

What make you so excited to the existence that you can not see your liberators? What did Nuer do other then sucking blood of liberators. See the pictures can not make you happy while a traitor and Nyagat.

Please, stop making noise after your liberators. I don,t think how would you get this independent if we fought each other in 1991 and leave Khartoum government occupying the towns? Your short slightness and food desire are your core motif and only ngundeng is the one that will erase it out from your mind not civilization at all.

You were claiming for the same thing that make gadet yak defect against the SPLM. Please suck your blood properly but do not forget that you are always Nyagat. Thanks

    Odingo,

The liberation that we have ultimately achieved is every Southerner’s toil and struggle to make it happen.
I believe Nuer, Equatoria and Shilluk could be part and parcel of this independent day but they would have not make it without their counterparts the Dinka and other tribes that you didn’t mention.

Both Nuer and Equatoria did enormously contributed to the birth of this nation with the help of their brothers the Dinka.
None of all those tribes is immune from their blood sheded during the struggle.
Yes, Dr Machar has some credit for pursuing the vision of self-determination and his mistake was to vent his wrath at the civilians whose majority support his vision as shown by recent vote.
Dr Garang and his colleagues did envision wisely by adopting the New Sudan vision trick which help our moment gain recognition worldwide.
It would be a mockery of history if Southsudan’s liberation is aportioned to just three tribes who did nothing exceptional apart from the reality that they just contributed in the cooking and serving of the cake.

Let’s leave Division and sing loud and joyfully for the liberation that we all contributed in one way or another.

    Meendebaai,

In English parade rehearsal and mock parade all mean the same thing. But that should not be the bold point. The main point is that the exercise has been done whether you call it rehearsal or mock parade.

Please this name is a name of good politician in Kenya, it is not for stupid people like you. I don’t want to talk about Equatoria but foolish communities of Nuer and Shilluk could not be term by you to have brought something good.

This parade was not organized by Riek, but by South Sudan Independence Task Force. Riek as a vice president was invited to witness how well the parade is organized. If you weren’t from foolish community, you would have congratulated the organizing committee not Nuers & Shilluks.

If Something good comes from Nuers & Shilluks as you put it, why are they always looting other people proerties such as cattle ristling, why are those Gatdet fighting people of south sudan if they are patriotic? Why is Lam Akol siding with Khartoum and sending his malitias to kill people in Upper Nile?

Who killed more than 100 Murles last week in Pibor and drove away unknown number of cows? Were they not Nuers from Akobo?

    Come on foolish community!!!!!!!!

Can you see how hard people response when they read the dogy writings. Odingo was answered by 4 dinkas and none of the Nuer on Site wrote wrong thing about dinka on this topic. This is what make different btn us and THE NUER.

The Nuer are real patriods and nationalist beccause they have gut to stop responding to bad things done to them when they have a gold to persue, just like what is done to them by GoSS over the last six years and have been quit till now.

Let stop trying to create history out of blue. The World knows Dr.Riek Machar was/is for the “Self-determination for South Sudan” but Dr. John Garang was for “New Sudan”. we South Sudanese knew whose Slogan won our hearts.

Let just talk about Lual Deng’s betary of the South Sudan for this month.

Look at this traitor (Dr. Riek Machar), he is really determined to be a president. He is enjoying himself as he watches a beautiful military parade for the independence he had almost spoiled by his visionless actions from 1991 to 2002.

    Odingo,

Sometimes when someone get off with little sipped of wine, he/she loose concentrations and began to talk stupid. Come on now I know Riek Machar had a chance to lead ROSS maybe one day but if primatives like you began to bark like a dog, that is not doing anything good for Riek Machar. Thefore, you are Riek opposer rather than supporter and you are not a qualify ambassador. See you in hell with your slogan dude!

    Choldit,

The story goes, when I plan to build my house tomorrow because the rain has rained yesterday, I tend to not build the house when we experience that the rain is not raining today.

So, Can you still said that you built the house? I believed guys are good at presuppose anything starting from the ancient times. The time of idols had been successful among your kinds because you are completely the believers of illusions.

The self-determination you are talking about has been come simply!

We really fought for it and if we just sided with Khartoum government and try to say that we need self determination without the sound of gun, then my friend you would have been under the curve of no return, this is right! You can see how hard the Khartoum are employing their tactics against the CPA which has been agreed for many years.

This CPA which has proposed three things election, referendum, and consultations are not those simple things that your likes can talk about. This has been struggling and we lost lives for this self-determination while you were united with Khartoum government from 1991-2005.

Can you bring self determination while a slave in the oil field that your Master Bashier gave you bribes on his behave so that you kill your own people. Did you forget what Pulino Matip ,Gatdet Yak, Kordan Kong, and Riek Machar in Unity, let alone the other parts of Upper Nile. You are always good at illusions and that is why you believed in Wurnyang and Ngundeeng which are in fact the curse and real evils for Nuer in general.

Tell me how many Nuer leaders were killed by Nuer let alone others. Please, shut your mouth and give credit to the right people other you will stay in the darkness for good. Thanks
