Name: Rizik Zachariah Hassan

Position: Governor of Western Bahr El-Ghazal State, South Sudan, 2010-Present.

Political Affiliation: Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM)

Career:

Hassan beat the incumbent Mark Nyipuoc Ubong to receive the SPLM candidacy for the 2010 elections, which he won.

In September 2013 Hassan complained to president Salva Kiir that Nyipuoc was still agitating against him in order to bring about his removal.

His military rank was withdrawn in February 2013 as part of reform to South Sudan’s amry (SPLA).
