Background: Paul Mabek Deng was appointed as Commissioner of Parieng County in November 2012 by Governor Taban Deng Gai.
Paul Mabek Deng replaced Stephen Mabek Lang Bilkuey, who was sacked after he and two other Parieng County politicians were accused of fueling disunity among members of the ruling SPLM at the county level.
In the reshuffle Angelo Chol replaced Them Machar Kuol as Unity State Education Minister, while Paul Mabek Deng replaced William Mac Juac as Youth and Sports Minister.
