Career: Them Machar Kuol served as the Unity State Minister for Education, from 2010 until November 2012, when he was sacked by Governor Taban Deng Gai, after he and two other Parieng County politicians were accused of fueling disunity among members of the ruling SPLM at the county level.
Unity State Governor Taban Deng Gai appointed Angelo Chol to take over the education portfolio.
The other two SPLM politicians to be sacked at the same time were Youth and Sports Minister, William Mac Juac and the former Commissioner of Parieng County, Stephen Mabek Lang Bilkuey.
Paul Mabek Deng to took over the Culture, Youth and Sports portfolio, while Majok Gatdet as the new Parieng County Commissioner to replace Bilkuey.
