Career: Akech Tong Aleu was sworn in a Deputy Governor in May 2012, replacing Yel Mayar Mareng. He was relieved from his previous position as Commissioner of Tonj South County a few days before before appointed Deputy Governor by Governor Nyandeng Malek Deliech. On coming to office Aleu said the combating cattle rustling would be his top priority.
