North Darfur State is in Sudan’s western Darfur region. To the northeast Darfur’s largest state borders Libya and Chad.
Within Sudan, North Darfur State borders Northern State to the northeast, North Kordofan State to the east, Central, East and South Darfur states to the south, and West Darfur State to the west.

Towns: Burush, Kafod, Kutum, Shangil Toaby, Wada’ah
