The current version of the Sudanese Pound is the third edition and was reintroduced 24 July 2011 following the secession of South Sudan from the Republic of Sudan.
The Sudanese Pound had been reintroduced replacing the Sudanese Dinar in January 2007 as part of the 2005 north-south peace deal.
