Talks between a number of rebel factions in Darfur and the Sudanese government are expected to take place in Libya on October 27. Before the talks, squabbles over which rebel groups will be represented have broken out. Local officials in Darfur have taken a swipe at the organisers of the talks, including the United Nations. Mohammed Vall was the only international news correspondent at a meeting in northern Darfur, hosted by the area’s governor.
