August 13, 2016 (JUBA) - The Spokesperson of South Sudan President Salva Kiir angrily reacted on Friday to a resolution of the United Nations Security Council authorizing deployment of up to 4000 troops to protect civilians at risk of extreme violence and to help in the implementation of peace agreement.

Presidential Spokesperson Ateny Wek Ateny, told the media late on Friday that the government of President Salva Kiir on whose behalf he spoke, will not cooperate with the United Nations approved force.

“It is very unfortunate and we are not going to ‘cooperate’ because we will not allow our country to be taken over by U.N. Any force that will be called Juba Protection Force will not be accepted,” said Ateny.

Ateny made the remarks after the government convened a cabinet meeting at which it was resolved to send a letter rejecting a proposal authorizing deployment of protection force from the region under the united nations mission in South Sudan.

The letter prepared by the minister of cabinet affairs, Martin Elia Lomuro and approved by president Kiir likened the deployment of 4,000 foreign troops to “invasion and interference in the internal affairs”.

Even with IGAD proposal that South Sudan accepted. Neighboring countries: Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and Sudan must not participate with protection forces. Bring forces from the countries which are not interesting in South Sudan resources.

Even Muamar el Gaddafi and cohorts spoke and behaved the same way Kiir and co are doing; the writings is on the wall!

The incompetent thugs who have resisted the peace initiative and given us a diplomatically isolated and bankrupt government have still to give IGAD new proofs of incompetence and failure

I want peace in South Sudan, that’s my hope to my country. Internet warriors will continue making useless statements everyday. Let’s hope our leaders will join hands and bring peace to our country. Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and Sudan forces must not be allowed to be part of protection forces. This is very clear what neighboring countries are after in South Sudan. South Sudan will have peace one day.

      South Sudan,

How do your "leaders" intend to bring peace to country when all they can do is mock the some people who helped them get a country of their own. Get this right, if it wasn’t for the US, SPLA will still be fighting Omar el Bashir or will have gone into obvilion. You will soon realise that the so-called "internet warriors" are big stakeholders in South Sudanese affairs; they count!

Truly genuine peace can only be realised by South Sudanese themselves. However that peace can not come to effect when a member of any tribes entertains a spirit of tribal superiority over the rest of other ethnic communities. South Sudanese urgently needs a visionary, unifying and developmental leader which Kiir lacks.

South South my bro. Which of our resources are our neighbours after. IGAD was part of the solution to our struggle so why fight against them now? Why not negotiate a more favourable engagement that in the end will favour the return of 1000s of South Sudanese who are already causing a strain to the resources of our neighbours?

        Bazinguaboy,

Thank you very much for position response to my comment. I wish you can read my reply to you. You said: " Why not negotiate for more favorable engagement that in the end will favor the return of 1000s of South Sudanese" I like that. Very good thinking. What I do not like right now is the behaviors of some of our neighbors who are members of IGAD. They were our old friends.

    Eastern,

First, When I said our leaders should join hands to bring peace I mean both SPLM/G and SPLM-IO, but you are quick to point fingers to one group you do not like. Peace will come when our leaders put people of South Sudan first. Yes, USA helped South Sudan to get its freedom, no one can deny that, but that does not mean South Sudanese leaders can be like puppets to US.

      South Sudan,

It’s Kiir being pushed by the JCE that don’t want peace. Under the pressure from the international community, Dr Machar travelled all the way from Pagak to Juba to come and implement the ARCISS. Tell this forum what has Kiir and his Dinka advisors have done apart fro backtracking on what Kiir signed with a lot of reservations.

Kiir has something in his mind. He doesn’t want to implement a peace agreement he signed with his enemy (Dr Machar). How can he implement the same agreement with his friend (El Tabani Deng Gai)? For your information and your likeminded, a peace agreement is implemented with your enemies/nemeses but not your friends. The Kiir-Taban alliance is a big joke!!!

    Eastern,

I like all tribes of South Sudan (63) because they are South Sudanese, yes, there bad people in each tribe and those people should be kept out from the decision making positions. I am not here to praise Kiir or abuse him like the way you do everyday through internet. I can not speak for Kiir. Coming to Juba all away from Pagak is enough to bring peace if you have some hidden agendas

      South Sudan,

Stop fumbling; what hidden agenda does Kiir and his JCE continue believing that Dr Machar has? Why is Kiir so paranoid to the extend that he out of panick that Dr Machar was carrying a pistol caused the death of over 200 young militiamen in the heart of Juba at J1. You need to style up and live to the occasion. The international community is watching Kiir. Ever heard of Gbagbo?

        Eastern,

Peace is not about Kiir or Riek, peace is for people of South Sudan and I think we all need to stand together to support peace. This is my personal stand. International Community including USA will do nothing if our people are not willing to have peace. To Hate some tribes of South Sudan will not take us anywhere.

If you think peace will weaken Kiir and his supporters then why don’t you support the peace rather than single out some people and some tribes. This is not going to help you to get red of Kiir. You are even giving more support to Kiir. People who think Ethiopia or Kenya or Sudan or US will put them into power in South Sudan are dreaming. Support peace Eastern for your people.
