The Morobo county commissioner, Jacob Toti said the incident occurred at a wildlife base, which is located within the area.

“A group of unknown armed men came and broke into the stores of wildlife and they collected 40 guns and three people who were there. I urge the public to cooperate with us and tell us where this people are so that we can intervene,” Toti told Sudan Tribune.

He said calm had been restored back in the county after security officers were deployed.

“We don’t want anything to happen here in Morobo because people are entering into the implementation of the peace agreement that was signed in Addis Ababa. We don’t want armed conflict,” stressed the commissioner.

The attack, Toti said, was the first of its kind in Morobo county and that the whereabouts of the three abducted men was unknown.

He called for peace, urging citizens to dialogue when aggrieved.

Muki Batali, the governor’s security advisor, called for peace and stability.

“The government is now very close to you, hence there is no need for you to go to Juba looking for the government,” said Batali.

It is time for us to come together, implement the signed peace agreement, maintain peace, stability and join our efforts for development of the state and South Sudan at large, he stressed.

Meanwhile, a commercial cyclist was found dead along Yei-Maridi road, in what eyewitnesses described as a robbery incident.

State authorities and the police declined to comment on the murder incident.
