August 1, 2014 (ADDIS ABABA) – Former vice-president and leader of the opposition faction of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Riek Machar has appointed representatives of the rebel faction to the United Nations in New York and the US in Washington DC.

Machar appointed his former office’s assistant director for press and communications, Minyong Kuon, to represent the SPLM-IO in at the UN general Assembly in New York.

He also appointed Reath Muoch, a former MP in Juba to represent the movement in Washington DC.

Machar’s spokesperson James Gatdet Dak said the two officials are committed young cadres in the movement.

“Comrade Miyong Kuon and Comrade Reath Muoch are committed young cadres in the SPLM,” Dak said in a press statement he issued on Friday.

The movement, he said, has been without representatives to UN and US for the last seven months of the crisis in South Sudan.

Why appointing only NUER tribe men if you want to diversify your leadership style or organization?

Dr. Riek is not like your unqualified, uncivilized, uneducated tyranny dictator president who always appointed people, who are like him, If you see Dr. Riek’s appointees are more of younger ages than older ages, appointed more people from other tribes 65%-85% and Nuers with only 15%-25% , reverse to Kiir’s cabinet that constitute 85% Dinka tribe.

Over 35% from other tribes joined the moment under leadership of Dr. Riek in the bush while 90% of South Sudan people are supporting the moment under Dr. Riek Machar inside South Sudan and the moment could not appointed them because it post risk to their lives but the moment knows them in Juba and else where in South Sudan.

Appointment can not be just given unless you join the moment, just come out and get it before it is too late.
Otherwise Dr. Riek is the only fair and best leader on earth.

We don’t care as long as Riek Machar isn’t active in our soil. Although you appointed your tribe to represent you in the all organisations over the World you, Riek Machar will still have no room in our country, South Sudan. You will remain in exile and die their with your rats.

      Gunkills,
You take an oath as if South Sudan is for your mother. How can you swear and suggest of your own country man to go for exile for life. This is bad heart and you have to play the politics well instead of bring in cows headed hearts.

Just go to cattle camps and a cattle rustler there instead of being a politician.

Let him appoint even his own brothers to UN but they will come back ashame, because who are they in UN? Riek think UN it like South Sudan where he committed so many atrocities and lucky to get top job. I wish his team good luck though AU does not recognise them but aiming for UN post. Hahaaaa, what a joke ideas to this ignorant idiot.

This is very funny that Rebel leader appointed his representative to UN headquarter in New York. Even Dr. John Garang did not do that during his struggle to freed the whole South Sudan from Arab else UN body is corrupt now a days.

An ideal mind is a devil workshop. This murderer has proved to be gambler.Let’s wait and see which member state will contribute money to pay Nuer representatives in Washington and UN general assembly...Fighting will soon ensue between Machar and his top dogs like Peter Gadet and others because of few seats in the interim gov’t.

Riek Machar is PHD holder but still possess a sick mind of Nuer people...people so proactive that they don’t think before taking action. Riek’s Rebel faction is not yet a government, so what is the point of appointing positions that look more like a government? unless UN and US are both fools to let South Sudan have two representatives to UN and two ambassadors to US.

I always say that the attempted fail coup was organized by Obama and UN. Hilde Johnson was the head of organization of that fail coup. Riek mislead them to promise empty and still misleading them to accept his representative. They will be sorry. South Sudanese will not accept Riek any more.
