Minsk Tractor to assemble machines in Sudan

MINSK, July 29, 2004. (Interfax) — Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ) plans to set up the assembly of ‘Belarus’ tractors in Sudan, the company’s general director Alexander Pukhovoi told the press.

Deputy MTZ general director Pyotr Parkhomchik told Interfax that MTZ plans to sign a protocol of intent with Sudan on July 29.

MTZ also plans to bid in a tender for providing Sudan with 300 tractors, Pukhovoi said.

Minsk Tractor Plant began working with Sudanese companies in 1990. It has provided that country with 1,886 Belarus tractors since, including 282 sent last year.
