January 3, 2014 (JUBA) – The United States has ordered its embassy personnel in the South Sudan to leave in the wake of the country’s deteriorating security situation.

An emergency statement from the US embassy in the capital, Juba urges its citizens living in the world’s youngest nation to depart by Friday.

“On January 3, 2014, there will be an evacuation flight arranged by the Department of State to the nearest safe haven country,” partly reads the statement on its website.

The embassy further said it would no longer be able to provide any consular services to U.S. citizens in the country starting 4 January.

“U.S. citizens who are not able to take advantage of the evacuation flight should review their personal security situation and strongly consider taking advantage of any existing commercial flights”, adds the statement.

The evacuation order comes as ceasefire talks get underway in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia between the South Sudanese government delegation and rebels loyal the country’s former vice-president, Riek Machar.

East African regional leaders and the international community have backed calls for dialogue in a country, which suffered over two decades of civil war before a 2005 peace deal led to its independence from Sudan two years ago.

MORE SOLIDARITY

The US envoy to Juba has vowed to work together with the South Sudanese people to promote “nine days of peace and patriotism”, leading to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) day.

“While the country’s leadership may have signed the agreement which officially began the peace process in 2005, now, 2014, is the time for South Sudan’s people to follow through with their own self-determination for peace”, Susan Page said in a new year message.

Together, we are determined for January 9 to once again mark a cessation of hostilities, an end to violence, and an onset to peaceful beginnings throughout all of South Sudan, she added.

An outbreak of violence in the country mid-December last year has caused more than 1,000 deaths and nearly 200,000 people left homeless in various parts of the country.

    The Dinka Attempted failed-COUP.
    What is a Dinka-coup?
A Dinka-coup, is coup in which civilians tried to overthrow the Dinka-governmet without the involvment of army-generals, therefore the civilians have to face the music,e.g, like what happened on december 15,2013,Dinka security forces Kony-Beny,hunt down all unarmed Nuer civilians and slaughtered like christmas chickens.

This is what the US Ambassador to South Sudan said: ""We are not suspending our operations. We are just minimizing our presence," Ambassador Susan Page told Reuters."

"Without the involvement of army-generals." Does the generals have to get involved to be called a coup? Those soldiers that were fighting the presidential guards would have made a coup. It doesn’t have to be led by general. Remember the coup in March of 2012 in Mali. It was led by a captain.

South Sudan would have not been a country without Dinka sacrificing. This cousins being mislead by Riek Machar will regret soon. Lou youth are going to finish because of him.

You guys need to be in school rather then wasting your time here. Occupying few towns (Bor, Bentiu) which are currently underway to be captured can’t automatically make Riak Machar a President. It’s not happening and will never happen, say even if they were to capture Juba. Pres. Riek will come thru vote which he can’t win in 2015.

What is the U.S trying to stir up here? These guys are responsible for this coup to say the least. They are not happy because our government handed over the oil fields to Chinese companies. U.S tried these dirty tricks with Venezuela, Cuba, Iraq, Nigeria, Mexico,.....the list is long but just to mention a few. And now they are trying to do it in South Sudan well let them go who cares?

The US is trying to hand over our country to China and Russia. We will go the Russian and the Chinese side very soon if the US does not stop its dirty tactics. By the way, it is a move destined to fail. Bahr el Ghazal is still silent. One day Bahr el Ghazal will have its say and no US will stand against it. Man was created to die after all! We’ll go for it one day.

South Sudan does not need *more* paranoid rumors right now. The USA does not want South Sudanese oil. It’s a "waxy crude" that U.S. refineries do not process - that’s why it is being pumped and purchased by China and Russia. Nor does the USA want to see instability and violence in South Sudan, because they don’t want situations like Somalia where terrorist groups like al-Shabab can grow.

Please do not misinterpret the USA’s mistake - not doing enough to promote inclusive economic development for all peoples in all areas of South Sudan - as a deliberate strategy to encourage inequality. Even China and Sudan want a ceasefire and a stable government, because otherwise they fear someone will blow up the pipelines they depend on for petroleum.
