October 27, 2012 (KHARTOUM) – Sudanese President Omer Hassan Al-Bashir will pay a first visit to South Sudan soon since the independence of the new nation in July 2011, said Sudanese foreign minister, Ali Karti.

In statements to the official news agency Suna on Saturday, the minister said this visit will open a new page in the development of bilateral relations between the two neighbours.

The two countries signed on 27 September a cooperation agreement including the establishment of a demilitarised zone, oil transit, border trade, and four freedoms deal allowing movement of the citizens from the two sides of border.

Karti did not disclose the date of the visit despite reports saying it would coincide with the meeting of a joint committee to discuss technical details related to the implementation of security arrangements.

The minister however said the joint security committee chaired by defence ministers will meet during the first week of November.

Bashir had scheduled to visit Juba last April, in response to a visit of President Salva Kiir to Khartoum on 8 October 2011, but the visit was cancelled following the seizure of Hegilig by the South Sudanese army.

The African Union Peace and security Council, in a meeting held on 24 October, gave the two countries six weeks to settle their difference on Abyei and five disputed areas.

However, the Council said it would back a proposal made by the African mediation providing to hold a referendum in October 2013 without the nomads of Missreryia, despite the Sudanese rejection of this proposition.

Where do you think he will go? Warning to the Dinka-Cowboy! If you don’t distance yourself from the Criminal then you will be in trouble too! Because your government is causing alot of problems. It’s better to be away!!

I personally glance at Al Basir visit in two ways, one is that he knew part of the co-operations accord was been resented by majority of South Sudanese coz Miles 14 haz never been Nortern territory, howeber our border ly much deeper in Sudan’s West but want to cement this agreement particularly on security to make Kiir fall/weaken demosticly and to make south onus should agreement fail ,continue..

President Beshir is welcome to South Sudan. He is important to the existence and stability of the 2 countries. We need to see to it that agreed and signed agreements are implemented. The international community should not expect South Sudan to cooperate with the ICC as of this time.

His visit will not bring anything new to change his behavior of dishonoring agreements, he’s not welcome because of ICC status ,if we need democracy in South Sudan then there is no point of welcoming somebody wanted by ICC for war crimes in our soil, if CPA and another agreements was signed in foreign countries then he has nothing to do here.

I don’t understand. What was the referendum for? Now it seems bit by bit the two countries are becoming one again. But the north is Islamising fast. What does this mean for the south? Northern people will enjoy the privilege of equality in the south which southerners in the north will not be granted.

        Solider,
Just because you have a drink with someone from South Sudan doesn’t define the inconvenient history we have between us for countless decades. Look at South Sudan today; do we have any factories, Hospices, roads or let’s say modern infrastructure in general? South Sudan still has the look of the 19th century in the 21st century. Your “straw man argument” is only effective to less inform.

Solider: That’s good to hear and no doubt the CPA period was good for relations between north and south people. But I’m not talking about "you" so much as your government, police and laws. I DID see (and hear awful stories about) discrimination against southerners FOR MYSELF. What will YOU do to prevent state-devised discrimination? Apart from smiling, chatting and drinking with southerners?

Solider: For instance, if the State says church land will be confiscated, or a church cannot be built or fixed (according to sharia principles) what will YOU do? Will you march in the street demanding equality and rights for your Christian brothers? I hope so: that would be good news from Sudan.

President Bashir is coming to visit his brother Mr Mayadit who gave him more then he deserved in the south Sudan’s land and its resources.
At the moment Bashir needs Kiir more than Kiir needs Bashir because The Cooperation Agreement gave the Sudan right of treating south Sudan as the same as one of it states and that is what Bashir was looking for all this time.

Concisely, the visit of Bashir to newest nation is a positive visiting, because the peace and security as well the issue of Abyei and demarcation are still yet been solve. therefore, if bashir is behind the complication of the keys area then we have to welcoming him and question him during that schedule. I Will be thank God if he has come, bashir was the one inked CPA 2005 and recently Adis (OPA)
