October 17, 2012 (RUMBEK) - Four citizens of the Lakes state capital, Rumbek, have hung themselves during a one-week period according to the state minister for information, Charles Badiri Mayen.
Mayen announced that the state police will be conducting an investigation into the deaths.
In four separate incidents, citizens of the state have hung themselves. None of them left a suicide note or any indication of their motive.
A policeman in the state was recently talked-down from hanging himself by his in-laws. He said he was attempting suicide because his mother accused him of not caring for her.
In 2010 a in Rumbek man hung himself due to pressure to provide for his family.
Lakes state government say they are doing their best to find the cause of the suicides.
