October 9, 2012 (JUBA) – The Toposa ethnic group in Eastern Equatoria state has condemned the allegation that Governor Louis Lobong Lojore has links with militia groups operating in the state.

The allegation, which was presented to South Sudan’s upper house - the Council of States - by a member who represents Eastern Equatoria State, prompted the parliament to summon to Juba last week governor Lobong in order to answer for the charges.

Michael Losike Lokerui MP who is the deputy chairperson of information and members affairs in the parliament and hails from the Toposa ethnic group, like the governor himself, presented the accusation against the Governor to the parliament.

During the hearing, Governor Lobong denied the allegation but the Council of States resolved to form a committee to further investigate into the charges.

In reaction to the event the chiefs, elders and intellectuals from the three greater Kapoeta counties, which are inhabited by the Toposa tribe, held an emergency meeting on Sunday in Kapoeta South County to discuss the allegation against the Governor.

The result of the meeting, condemned the allegation by Losike describing him as rumourmonger and creator of chaos and treason against South Sudanese in general and Eastern Equatoria in particular.

The community also resolved to disown MP Losike and presented a petition to the President of the Republic, Salva Kiir Mayardit, to remove him from Council of States.

Is this the beginning of sectarianism in Equatoria by Equatorias themselves? Pity on whoever wants to cause chaoes. This may be a ploy to hinder development in Kapoeta and possibly the whole of Eastern Equatoria. This looks like a germ from outside Equatora through an Equatorian in order to cause damage to peace-loving people.

You people don’t know there is a permanent enemity between Lobong and Losike since 1990s because Losike was alleged to have raped Lobong’s wife who later committed suicide while Lobong was in Nairobi for official function. Therefore, Losike allegation is baseless. Lobong and Losike will NEVER be re-united folks and period.

The issue of permittivity doesn’t arise here. Yes it is true that the Toposa are not educated but they are very peaceful and bright people. We should learn to differentiate issues. Governor Lobong have no links but may be he has some few boys taking care of his animals because he has more than 10, 000 heads of cattle and most of the boys are with few AKs 47 which cannot tantamount to militia.

People should not talk nonsense because if it is really true that there are militias in Eastern Equatoria, we would have seen it by the roads being affected but right now Juba-Torit-Kapoeta-Nadapal-Kenya, Torit-Ikotos-Kitgum, Torit-Magwi-Obo-Parjok, Torit-Lafon, Torit-Imehejek, Torit-Lobira-Bira-Ug, Juba-Nule roads are all secure and peaceful. So what is Losike’s allegation? POLITICS-POLITICS.

Foxtail, you may be proud now. But remember you people are holding a hot sweet potato that soon you may drop! What have you done with that arrogance, misrule and brutality. My advice to you is speak and act with care and most importantly think intensively before you speak or act. Remember what you do can be done to you.

Likang, I like those who speak the truth because truth set you free. realistically,Dinka led government works day & night to make sure that your asses are secure socially, economicall, spiritually & politically but just because it’s Dinka doing it, you protest & start mobilising rebels and all that.NB. NO viable South Sudan would have existed if Dinka weren’t there. we can fit in any trouser boy

Please don’t provoke Equatorians because they can be so rough and could wipe any threats within Equatoria. They can deploy both lethal and non lethal and a mixture of African chemistry largely from central and western Equatoria but Eastern Equatoria alone can chest the Dinka upto Darfur. Please remember LOULAK! and if you don’t know, ask a Dinka who was a real SPLA.

Soon this illiterate womanizing and drunken president will go to the dustbin of history. Do not be scared by these stooges of Yau Yau. One day all the counties of Jongolei will be connected by tarmacked roads. Never obehaves like this foolish Lobong.

Lobong is a great fool in Greater Equator. He should understand that his being a governor was not because of the Toposa tribesmen or their affiliate militia rather the will of the people of Eastern Equatoria. The great Toposa people should distance themselves from this fool called Lobong who still wants to earn a bachelor degree. What for?
