August 16, 2012 (JUBA) - Two Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) soldiers, who went missing from their unit on Sunday, were discovered dead near the Ugandan border but within South Sudan’s territory, according to UPDF 5th division spokesperson, Ceaser Olweny.

The duo, according to the Ugandan state-owned New Vision, reportedly travelled secretly to a market at the Ugandan border with South Sudan to sell chicken.

Olweny the said the bodies of Flamino Amok and Gilbert Ongeto were found on Tuesday after an extensive search “in the areas of Maji-Moto up to the Uganda-South Sudan border.”

Their bodies have close-range bullet wounds to the chest and head said Olweny, raising concerns that they were murdered.

The UPDF 5th division publicist said it was “unfortunate” that it had not been possible to contact, spokesperson of South Sudan army (SPLA), Phillip Aguer, to discuss the matter.

Olweny, urged local leaders in South Sudan carry out investigations into the incident to find out the motive behind the killings.

In July, suspected poachers in South Sudan reportedly shot dead UPDF soldiers Ahimbisibwe and Mathias Odongo, in Kidepo National Game Park, sparkling tension between the two nations.

There are no recorded instances of killing between South Sudanese and Ugandan Acholis, Madis or Kakwas. These tribes look at each other across the ’international borders’ as something artificial unlike the Dinkas who kill themselves at clan level: look at what is happening in Cuiebet in Lakes state, parts of Tonj North,Yirol East, etc. Such does not happen elsewhere. Have you sat down to ponder wh

Panda deserves to have home education to be human otherwise he is as stupid as his parents. Learn to be a national and not a tribalist who want to cover the wrongs of their tribesman in South Sudan. Who does not know that the killers of people in the country are Panda’s tribesmen in militia suits pretending to be liberators.

      Dear Ugandan,
Don’t point fingers at South Sudan any more, Ugandans are fleeing to South Sudan with their fag goods and chickens, those are looted chickens, because arm do not keep chicken at the barrack, angry owners turned around and killed them, South Sudan Army do not sell chicken, they sell bullets, guns and khakis, not cows nor chickens.

      Dear readers,
Our East African border is the biggest headache to the Arab, first of all it is their designated route for the spread of Islam to the east African region hence South Sudan became a stumbling block, punishing South Sudan economically would be possible if the border is closed... with these few remarks Khartoum wants everything possible to create a turmoil situation between Uganda n S.

    Mr. Ceaser Olweny
I don’t see any reason why you should question the South Sudan’s spokeman when your rebels are stick in Southern Sudan territories. Fighting is about dead and alive, so you guys were looking to kill Ugandan rebel leader Joseph Kony on the other hand, he is try to get your guys this is one way war or another fight. Your rebels have murders 100,000 of Southern Sudanese since

The lord Resistance Army of Joseph Kony must be blame for murdering Ugandan Armies. Uganda is one of our friends who usually stand with us and there is no reason to kill them. It’s the Enemy of Peace which is North Sudan who has this plan to confuse our friendship with Uganda. Khartoum is worry about Uganda support to South Sudan and they’re working hardly to change our relationship. Shame them!

Sudani ana, what’s South Sudan going to gain by killing Ugandan? Since you’re here magnifying what happened; there is a reason to believe you have a motive; and the motive is; stir up chaos in South Sudan with Uganda. We know you don’t have money anymore to pay militias; this is the cheapest way to do it because it’s not going to cause you any money.

I wonder why Hossein Obama want to removed Sudan from the list of States Sponsoring Terrorists while Konyi is hiding in Khartoum! Sudan is doing the same shit like what happened in 80s when the Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden made Khartoum to be safe haven. We will watch and see what Hossein Obama is doing? Wether he is hunting for Oil or Terrorists.

Ugandans are thieves by nature. So do not get bothered when a thieve gets another thieve there arises survival of the fittest. Thus when Ugandans loot Ugandans they kill themselves. Honest speaking how dare u ask Philip Aguer for the death of a thief?

Infact Uganda is occupying this place. Kanangorok (Moyo Sukun)is typical South Sudan territory which was an SPLA barrack in 1994 and even the borehole which is being used by UPDF was drilled by SPLA authority. The Ugandan move into the place illegally but Kiir is silent about Uganda occupation of the land which belong to Didinga and Ketebo (Bira). The community is bitter for Uganda occupation

    NHOMLAU,
which struggle you are claiming you won it ??! Dr. john garang fought for the NEW SUDAN.He fought for a complet country with natural resources and its seaports. a country that can make a huge influence to the whole world. not a small handicapped landlocked country with no direct access to the ocean which makes you always dependent on someone .believe me you won no struggle.

      Dear Readers,
You people don’t know the place. Kanangorok (Moyo Sukun) is situated in the Kidepo Valley, Eastern Equatoria State and 40kms from Lotukei and 25km from Naukori (Bira). This is South Sudan territory and currently occupied by UPDF. This is one of the future potential conflict hotspot between S. Sudan and Uganda because the place has mineral and tourist asset (hot water or moyo sukun)

This is our land and actually time has come for South Sudan to defend it territory. If you are real SPLA, you will know Kanangorok because this is the corridor to reach New Cush and then to the New Site. Basically, Kanangorok is adjacent to the Mountains (Losolia) where Dr. John died. Comrade Kiir knows Kanangorok very well and the communities found in this area are only the Didinga and Ketebo.

        • 17 August 2012 14:09, by Thorbanat

Honestly speaking, the suspect should be the Didinga poachers who fought with UPDF some two months back which has lead to death of 2 UPDF and 2 poachers. SPLA are based in Lotukei and have very good relationship with the UPD, therefore, this is NEVER SPLA act but civilian act because UPDF particularly in Kanangorok has bad blood with the population because of their occupation of their land.
