June 23, 2012 (JUBA) - Awut Deng Acuil, a senior member of South Sudan’s governing Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), on Saturday published a list of her bank accounts and invited her wealth to be investigated.

Acuil is one of 75 top-level government officials who received a letter from South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir asking them to account for $4bn in missing government funds, since the SPLM took power in South Sudan in 2005.

She denied involvement in the allegation and is one of the few South Sudanese politicians to declare their innocence after the existence of Kiir’s letter was made public.

The SPLM MP for Tonj East in Warrap State released the details of her four accounts on Saturday, two of which are in Kenya.

“I am one of those who have received the letter from the office of the President regarding the $4 Billion that was stolen. I am going to go public to clear myself", Acuil said before the South Sudan National Legislative Assembly on June 12.

The official said she did not vote for the independence of South Sudan last year in order "to steal public funds” and that she was making her bank accounts public for the purpose of accountability and transparency.

She added that it was time each of the accused follow suit or be identified as a corrupt official in the court of public of opinion.

“Since I receive the letter from the office of the president, I am inviting the public to review and scrutinize my personal financial information as well as my background”, Acuil said in a press release.

“I am not above the law; therefore, I would welcome any investigations", she adds.

You, dumb ass called Manyieldit, should stick to the point of the article, and not talk about madam Awout private life. The article is about her accounts she makes them public in response to the president letter regarding the $4 billion looted money. The article is not about Awout being accused by the first lady for sleeping with her husband, President Kiir. Got it.

The fact that she has published her accounts and invited the ani-corruption to come and investigate her is an indicative of having nothing to hide, at least that is how I see it. If you see it differently, then fine. Let us not rush to the judgment, we should wait and see the outcomes of the investigation.....

I bet you are not a man at all; in fact, you are a lady who disguises herself in a man name. if you are a lady, and hate Awout because you suspect that she has an affair with a man whom you have crushed on him, president kiir, then this is not a right place to express your hatred. Got it, DUMBY.

Give me a break! You, Mohammed Ali, are the last one to talk about the corruption in S. Sudan. Look, the high ranking NCP officials have on average above $1,000,000,000 ( one billion US Dollars) in their account that put aside in Malassia banks. Your master, Al-Bashit, has $9,000,000,000 in his personal account, according to the cable published by weakileak.

Unlike NCP regime leader who does not have a courage to admit the prevalence of corruption in his government, President Kiir has publically acknowledge the problem and he is working hard to solve the problem. Do not rush to the conclusion, let us wait and see whether she will account for all this money when she is investigated.
