November 2, 2010 (JUBA) – The President of the semi-autonomous Government of Southern Sudan and chairman of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), Salva Kiir Mayardit, has called for a meeting of the southern political leaders on 13 November 2010.

A recent ‘All Southern Sudan Political Parties Conference’ held in Juba, agreed that two meetings of the ‘Leadership Council’ – consisting of the leaders of all the south’s political parties – will meet twice before the region holds a self determination referendum in January.

The first meeting will take place on 13 Nov. before registration begins on 14 Nov. while the other one will take place on 8 Jan. 2011 before voting takes place on 9 Jan.

In a preparatory meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the Vice President and Deputy Chairman of SPLM, Riek Machar Teny, the meeting also agreed to identify in the resolutions and recommendations of the recent conference issues that were of immediate priority before the conduct of the referendum.

In a press statement after the meeting, the SPLM Deputy Secretary General for Southern Sector, Ann Itto, said the committee would come up with a matrix and timetable outlining the priority areas that need to be discussed by the upcoming meeting of the Leadership Council.

All the leaders of the southern political parties are expected to attend the leadership meeting.

In the recent conference in Juba, all the southern political parties’ leaders resolved to put aside their political differences and embrace reconciliation to work together to achieve the aspirations of the people of Southern Sudan and Abyei through the referenda on 9th January 2011.

It is widely expected that the south will vote to become independent in the vote agreed as part of a 2005 peace deal between north and south.

Kiir calls for meeting of leadership of all southern Sudan political parties
H.E. GoSS Pres. Salva Kiir acts well when in Juba but he gives surprises when he is in Khartoum. Is it the hangovers of the New Sudan ideology that confuses him or what? Please South Sudan leaders try to help our president with this confusion between separation and unity.

Dear All South Sudanese Politicians irrespective of your parties

In the first place I would like to appreciate GoSS president H.E Silva Kiir, thank you, thank you Mr.president for your charismatic style of leadding this nation, in fact unity of Southerners is paramount to chieve our relegated nation. Go ahead Mr.president to achieve more and history will tell at the end who have done what.

In my personal view point on this referendum scenarios, Khartoum government is now absolutely not willing for the referendum to take place as it was articulated in CPA, are you well aware of that? if yes, what is your next priority if referendum is delayed belony the stipulated date according to CPA accord? Of course you President, your vice, SSLA and all governor need to have action plan in any due delay. If delay may happen then you may not wonder of what to do, you can just declare what you accord ahead.

Let your strong confidence which your have seen from South Sudan people in previous historic national election be there for good time. The current government your are leading by then is quite differ from the previous expired system in the sense that its elected-government unlike the previous one. Therefore you need not to fear anything at all whether in term of material, physical and mental support. If Khartoum base government is not willing to consider the effective date for self-determination vote stipulated in CPA then beyony that date please you, SSLA and Governors declare our fate”indepedent South”.

I want you to remain stronger and stronger, these zeros hours Khartoum base government will try to play magical and tactic roll to push referendum beyony articulated date which is quite against guideline of CPA signed in 2005 by late Dr.John Garang who was kill in Helicopter crash.

They are now preparing themselves days and nights time hours to produce baseless acuastion against God’s people Southerners that may lead in to disintegration of your strong and unified govenrment if not handled with care by you and your helpers. This time Mr.president you need to close your hear completely from those who are try very hard to confuse situations by any mean they can and focus only on achieving and living history of independent of South Sudan through that will be read Silva Kiir tremendous achievement in nation strughle.

    Silva Kiir Oyeei……Dr.Riek Oyeei………….SSLA Oyeei…….Governors Oyeei………………South Sudan oyeei

    And thank
