February 1, 2010 (KHARTOUM) – Angelina Teny, independent gubernatorial candidate in the southern Unity State, yesterday vowed to exert all-inclusive efforts to reduce poverty once elected, adding oil should benefit people in production areas.

Sudan’s State Minister of Energy and Mining is challenging incumbent Governor Taban Deng Gai, who is the official SPLM nominee.

Angelina Teny, while addressing a gathering organized by her supporters from all counties of the state, on Monday February outlined major issues that could redeem Unity state from poverty.

The state minister for oil named one of the issues as innovation of better and sustainable ways on utilization of resources and ensures that they benefit people from the area.

Elaborating her points, the gubernatorial aspirant said for instance that drilling of oil should benefit people who live in areas where such activities are conducted.

"It is unacceptable that oil and other resources extracted from the area, but many communities living near the areas where the drilling operations take place do not benefit from the activities."

"They do not get anything but have become subject to constant displacement without get basic services," she stressed, adding this will be one of the issues to be addressed by her administration once elected.

Some of investors import everything including drinking water and food and even renting lorries from outside," she said.

Another important issue according to her is the need to improve economic transformations so as to enable sustainability of economic gains and withstand the global vulgarities.

Angelina said another issue was the need to increase investment in infrastructure, so as to stimulate manufactories and production sectors.

The continent should also invest heavily in agriculture, which she reportedly described as the mainstay to between 8-90 percent in the rural communities.

"Agriculture will assure us of food security. We can export the surplus so as to get more money to improve agriculture," she said.

She said Unity state, being one of the war stricken states in South Sudan, will focus on improvement of its human resources through investment in education and health sectors.

In fact, i realized from this Angelina Teny(the wife of previous traitor) when she says that when she take governorship, the state of unity will benefits from the oil revenue. She should mention developments instead of talking about 2% because it is for South Sudanese.

The intention of Dr garang about the 2% is to reduce the share percentage that north and south and to increase the South share indirectly. While Unity state mainly things that it there songs that their 2% will be divided to their villages rather than to make the developent of South Sudan.

Please Angelina short up with your independent candidacy because governor Taban Deng Gai is the right governor than you because you are the most traitor with your husband since from 1991-2005. You are nothing to South Sudan in leadership.

Dear,people of southern sudan,

It will be naive for us if we presume ourselves intellect while acting insane. What is bothering most to those who are twisting or idealogical brainwash is lack of telling the truth. I am worried by the trend that we choose to follow even though it is factional irrational. There is to be a way where we challenge ourselves without intentional going negative against our opponent.

However, the compaign of gubernatorial race has raised a very heated debate both inside sudan and the diaspora. The most challenging part is the independent candidates where the establishment has seem to had been revoke. The fact is, I like those kind of challenges because it will reset the incumbent to work on behave of the people. The notion of the party rather then the people first is disturbing as to those who advocate it. The people are first followed by their affliation to any party they associate themselves to. This is not a rocket science to be realize by the SPLM political bureau in Juba.

When the party, or the establishment (people) of the party seem to be ignorance, the mass revolt against the establishment and the end result can be a civil unrest. The party has been soo silent in many of horrible incident where thousands of people were mowed in their cultured resident. Many had been gunned down on their way to or from certain town. No investigation or a little intervention on such toll that had consumed the life of innocent people.

Another case is, whom should we blame if by 2011 we become an independent country in which we set our affairs, our priorities and such? What have we achieved after five of civility since the signing of the CPA? There is no link between the ten states of southern sudan (Super high way). There is no adequate coordinate between the Juba and the people. There is insufficient health facilaties across the region of the ten states. The list can go on and on.

The main purpose of a compaign is to highlight services which have not been rendered to the mass by their government. Others element are the ability of the candidate to persuade or inform the mass on their responsibilities to work with government so change can be brought into the state. So, for those incumbent, if they believe they were doing whatever they deem appropriate to the state they represent, they should not be worried about the independent candidate. If they were a kind of sort enthroned by the establishment which have no connection with public, than they have a long april month to worried about. Juba is not an obstacle to me because those individual have ears and eyes to apprehent and understand the agony they pose on the society.

There is no short cut when the government seem to more a ghost government rather than a real one. A lot of you in diaspora have argued the time for such challenges when we are still in a sort of phase I of our society, but the fact of the matter is, we don’t want to fool ourselves under the premise of our instability. We can do both at the same time because for how long can we drag ourselves back and forth in quest of priorities. If those independent are not worth to be elected, why go negative just don’t vote for them but if you think the incumbent have done nothing for the term of their office, why keep them, vote them out.

Last but not least, we have to stop hypothesis analysis about others candidates because it will do us no good. I like the party and dieheart of it, but the conduct its applied in recent trend tell me more then those independent candidates. I challenged you all to be more viligence because it is the people not the party who are to be consider first even though the party has been the vocal of what the people had been enjoying.

I think she will make a good governor but her husband is a controversial figure in the south given his background of what is perceived as traitorous act in the 1990s. Disloyal leadership especially to the course of southern is simply undesirable at this time.
