January 2, 2010 (KHARTOUM) – The Popular Congress Party (PCP) led by Islamist opposition figure Hassan Al-Turabi formally announced today that it has nominated a Southerner to run in the April 2010 presidential elections.

Abdullah Deng Nhial speaks to Al-Jazeera TV in April 2010 during his campaign for the Sudanese presidency (Photo: FILE/Al-Jazeera TV)Al-Turabi told reporters in the Sudanese capital that the decision to nominate the party’s deputy Abdullah Deng Nhial was reached by the majority (76%) as an “expression to address the conscience of a large sector of southerners and northerners”.

He added that the biggest crisis facing Sudan is the North-South one and thus putting forward a candidate from the Dinka tribe, the largest tribe in the south, could bring an end to beliefs that there is marginalization because major posts are limited to Northerners.

So far only the ruling National Congress Party (NCP), which nominated President Omer Hassan Al-Bashir, has decided on its candidate for the presidential elections. The other major parties including the Umma party led by former Prime Minister Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi, Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) led by Mohamed Osman Al-Mirghani and Sudan people Liberation Movement (SPLM) led by First Vice President Salva Kiir has yet to name a contestant.

The SPLM, PCP, Umma party and other smaller opposition parties that met in Juba last September have said in the past that they may decide on one joint candidate to run against Bashir. It is not clear if each party will nominate one figure and later the coalition will meet to decide on a joint candidate among them.

The SPLM spokesperson Yen Mathew, who welcomed Nhial’s nomination, told the Doha-based Al-Jazeera TV that the ex-southern rebel group will meet next Thursday to nominate its presidential candidate.

Al-Jazeera website said that Nhial was a professor in Juba University in 1985 then a minister of Guidance and Endowments following the 1989 coup, a minister for peace and reconstruction, the White Nile governor in 1994 before siding with Turabi in his 1999 major fallout with Bashir.

He told Al-Jazeera TV that his nomination came as a surprise to the Sudanese people given his ethnicity stressing that running for president is open to anyone interested “regardless of any consideration” which would enable Southerners to reach the highest positions in the government.

Nhial added that the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) did nothing to Southerners except give them the post of First Vice President currently held by Salva Kiir.

In today’s press conference Turabi slammed the Sudanese National Elections Commission (NEC) suggesting that it is controlled by the ruling NCP. The PCP leader did not rule out the possibility of fraud in the April 2010 elections but said its likely to be concentrated in the outskirts of the country.

This week, Turabi reiterated his call to Bashir to hand himself over to the International Criminal Court (ICC) which charged him with committing war crimes in Sudan’s western region of Darfur.

To All Southerners and SPLM Supporters

Do not worry because worry is needless, helpless and useless.

Not even the National Criminals Party (NCP) nor the Past Criminals Party (PCP) will stop the southern Sudan from being southern Sudan. Every day brings nearer the defeat of the all enemies of the southern Sudan, Nuba Mt, Blue Nile and Darfur people.

All these parties have used the people and the resources of Sudan to put themselves in those top positions and they have put down all the people of Sudan.

They can delay the process, but they will never stop CPA from achieving its goals.

Let us just think beyond CPA. What is next after 2011 ? We all know what is now before 2011.

"The greatest tragedy is not to lose your life, but it is wasting your life". NCP, PCP and Umma party members are wasting their lives for politics that we all know its ending.

We all know trees from their fruit. NCP, PCP and Umma can change their methods such as their parties leaders or candidates, but their principles will never change.

So please let us all watch these free movies of the NCP, PCP and Umma parties. The good news is that we have seen these movies before since 1964 to 2009.

Gatwech Tu, Gatmi Raan and Dinka Boy.

I strongly disagreeing with you guys and to understand me clearly that, the SPLA/SPLM were not fighting against Religion but they were absolutely fighting they policies agendas which have had been misleading Sudan nation. Abdullah Deng Nhial is the son of the first famous leader in Southern Sudan Mr, William Deng Nhial. As Southern Sudanese are seeking democartic government then, we must not act like Islamic Idiots who assume to fights for Religious therefore, I do not see on how you guys come up poorly comparison with Nyagat Riak Machar Teny, Paulino Matip Nhial, Gabriel Tangieny with the son of William Deng Nhial who had coverted himself to Muslim beliefs.

William Deng Nhial is one of the good politician which the second late Dr, John Garang de Mabior have taken his foot-step in Southern Sudan and that is why SPLA/SPLM had successful through the documantary of William Deng Nhial. Although the whole Islamic lost trust in the worldwide, I personally do think Dinka blood is very hard to used to Muslim policy if elected to become a Sudanese president.

I am calling you guys not just to hate the name written of Abdullah Deng Nhial, because of Religion issue but look to what the person is doing to his people. As you might not knowing that, the father of Abdullah Mr, William Deng Nhial have got families serving in government and they are all educated for instance, Abraham Nhial William Deng is now a Secretary Defense in the SPLA Southern Sudan and many others are helping SPLA/SPLM Movement since and then, in the worldwide. I which you guys should be careful for what you says, this son of William Deng Nhial has done nothing for the entirely of his life in Sudan and attacking him and comparing him to the bad people in Southern Sudan is outrage and there is no room.

The name of Dinka Boy I always favor very best that, I can real putting respect on it However, I would like to advice Dinka Boy that, we don’t actual cover up our people like Neur and many Tribes in Southern Sudan as you mention exactly, but belief me or not William Deng Nhial and his families in Southern Sudan must and should be treated with good respects, because the a little chance we have had now and politics which our Southern Sudanese people have it now can be contribute to William Deng Nhial’s visionary in the first place. Let us see if he win the Sudan general election then, we can says Southern Sudan are blssing to have Sons of William Deng Nhial on both Christian and Muslim but put in mind that, any person in William Deng Nhial sons will soon become a president in either Southern Sudan level and Sudan as a whole.

          Gatmi raan,

The guy is not doing any harm to Southerners. He never participated in any military action against SPLA. Simply do not vote for him. He has every right to run for the presidency in any party ticket. Remeber, the important thing is that he is not killing Southerners. His actions will not affect Southerners if we do not vote for him.

Now, you want to talk about shame. Riek Machar and Paulino should be a shame to themselves. The collaberated with the Khartoum government militarily aganist their own people. Their pass actions are affecting us today. They allowed Khartoum government to take control of our oil fields in Bentiu and Upper Nile State. This is what I call a real shame. They need to apologize publicly to Souherners for their pass actions.

            SPLA and Dinka boy

Last time I checked Riek or Matip never allied themselves with Turabi, As the matter of fact I bet you would not see any Nuer being nominated by any major party of Islamic fandementalist. because they know starting from 1955 on, untill to this all Nuer have been south sudan seccession. so they (Arabs) have everything to lose if they nominated from other tribes. Thus, Dinkas are their ideal choice since they (Dinka) have been the ones preaching for a unrealistic (United Sudan) for over two decades. honestly, its a brilliant and out of playbook of a their terrositic minds (Turabi and Bin ladens’ alike) to show the whole world’s at last that United Sudan’ was a fantasy and foolish game, which unfortunately have resulted in Dividing the South opinions. i.e United Sudan (failed) vs separate south sudan (in progress). the latter was the heated contention in Itang ( in which people like GAI TUT AND AKUOT ATEM and many Patriotic Southerners lost their lives at the hands of Turabi’s Spies). but their sacrifices is vindicated by a U-turn made at the last minute by this Spies. and Some of them still arunning around, like this Guy named Deng a stooge of notorious terrorist and the first Attorney General, who instituted a Sharia law in 1983. Hassan Al Turabi please, the main author of the so called (United Sudan) that have divided the South Sudan for so long is DEAD. Any last minute to tricks the South is useless. but its worth trying with your long time stooges and spies for the so called United sudan. South sudan independence its inevitable.

              Ramiraan,

              "Empty vessels make noise".

You are really making noise for nothing. Jumping from tree to tree like squrrels make you as aperson who does not know what he is talking about and that is why i always say your a likes are born empty and they will die empty.

Ok if we were after Unity why not we struggle for Unity by now because we have freedom to separate or unite.

              See the logic behind!

Also, the problem of Gai Tut and Akuot Atem , they were against the SPLM because they want themselves to be leaders and not those of like John garang, Karbino Kuanyin, William Nyuon, Salva Kiir, and Arok Thon by then and that is why they were killed because they were the power greedies.

Second, it seem our Nuer have no core understanding why Dr John Garang used the strategy of "New Sudan". the new Sudan strategy by Dr Garang was really complicated to your alike"Nuer" because the plan was long term goal not Short term goals that many of you could easiy understood.

Please i encouraged people like you to read his quotes and the speeches that he gave and you will regrete that you guys have empty mind that prevent your thought.
If we are after unity than what prevent us not to make unity. The example that make you and the alike short goal oriented is this; you guys say that the defection of Riek Machar and Lam was for Self-determination. Are you sure that Lam Akol like seperation? Wow! they are born empty and they will die empty.

Is your defection or joining Khartoum governmnet forces asign of seperation or cowardic act that involved overthrowing of the SPLM as government of South.
              Wow!.

The indepenedent of Riek that you and shallowed minded thought was the independent from the South. Not from the whole Sudan. Are you guys not short goal orieted!
Hahaha, if we united and make unity possible with North Arab, dear brothers it will be 100% sure can happen, but that is not our interset.

You are born empty and will die empty because of short sighted. Wow! that is why all of you can not tell the true even in the public. How many meeting we conducted in my residency while your likes keep silence like deaf, and latter complaint while they were there. Cheap and illiterate at large. Please altering of true will make things ugly in the South.

Don’t forget that the person who kills most is the one that designs or participates at the level of policy making, and not necessarily the one who implements such policies by shooting a gun. The policy is the one that kills not just the bullet shot!! The likes of Sheikh Abdullah Deng Nhial with the deadly islamic jihadist agenda are the real killers whose polices to kill southerners are implemented by the military on the ground.

              Hey,Gatmi raan n Gatwech!!!

You must know that the idea of standing for a united sudan was the best ever, other than living on with the selfish interests. The selfish interests is the merest separation in which with all possibilities we will say yes ever but, what shall we have then concluded for it!!

Today, just on your ways to separation for we only lack currently the real champion for unity, that’s to bring you about that,Sudan was best to be united with its real secular, democratic principles to stay as one big nation.Ask me how,a fundamental change was to go through all ways to cause a major influence over wicked Islamic ideologies.

However,no standing fellow for unity to make us proud of a one big nation.Neither of the fellows like Al bashir and Salva kiir ’re very incompetent to make it in the interests of real need for change politically, economically n socially.
So,it’s not a failure of the democratic principles of unity but,it’s suffering from incompetency in the current leadership .

Even now, though in reality amused by a need to go in the direction of secession to have a common objective for ourselves as Southerners,it’s accepting our own loopholes for a self defeat .
And for sure ,In the next post referendum issues that will be discussed ..we must make sure to support any need for re-unification of Sudan.

Gatmi Raan, Dinka Boy and Gatwech,

Brothers, the issue here is not about tribes, but something else. Firstly, these leaders you are talking about are or were not representatives of their respective tribes in any positions they held or currently holding. Maybe you all have absolute knowledege about this, henece there is no need guys to involve tribes here.

Let me come to Abdullah Deng Nhial. This man as a Sudanese has a right to contest the top post in the country. In this regard as Southerners, let’s find out the motives behind his nomination by the diehard Islamic Fundamentalist Party in Africa. Is it to guarantee the so-called "unity" if elected, or to maintain the ideology of non Muslim cannot rule over Muslims in case any Southern candidates are nominated by various Southern parties?
I personally, shall not vote for him because of the following reasons.

              - He participated directly or indirectly to wage Jehad against Southerners in 1990s.
              - His party is against CPA and referendum granted to Southerners by International community and blood of our matyrs.
              - This change of heart from Arabs to nominate a Southerner came too late after which we have lost confidence and hope in unity with them. The bitterness in us would only go once we separated, by then, we can forge a new chapter of neighborly relations.

The above qualities are enough for us to reject this man instead of getting mired in tribal language that doesn’t contribute an oita to our struggle. All our leaders have done mistakes, their achievements and contributions are so great that we cannot ignore them. Why should we always to look to negative sides and omit out the positive ones. Any mistakes these leaders have committed should be left to history for the fair judgement.
This nomination has nothing to with Dinka tribe. It’s about Sudan and PCP.

        Dear readers,

Read the following useless statements by the Al-Turabi party and the nominated stooge:

“He added that the biggest crisis facing Sudan is the North-South one and thus putting forward a candidate from the Dinka tribe, the largest tribe in the south, could bring an end to beliefs that there is marginalization because major posts are limited to Northerners.”

According to the above statement, the nomination is nothing but a cover up. The party just wants to deceive the southerners that at last in 2010 they can nominate a Dinka, whose qualification is ONLY being from the largest tribe in the South. That is insulting to the Dinka community and a laughing stalk. When did the north of Al-Turabi who himself designed the policy to marginalize came to realize that marginalization is an evil that should be ended.

But the crack of the matter is the first part of the sentence which says “the biggest crisis facing Sudan is the North_South one…” So what Dr. Turabi wants is a stooge who can help in defusing the North-South separation in 2011. Interesting!

“He told Al-Jazeera TV that his nomination came as a surprise to the Sudanese people given his ethnicity stressing that running for president is open to anyone interested “regardless of any consideration” which would enable Southerners to reach the highest positions in the government.”

See, the above statement by the nominee has shown that he NEVER knew what was being cooked on his back. He admitted that his ONLY qualification is being from the Dinka ethnicity. He never knew that he would be nominated until the last hour. That is a tactic designed on his back.

“Nhial added that the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) did nothing to Southerners except give them the post of First Vice President currently held by Salva Kiir.”

Common Nhial, you think the only thing the 2005 CPA gave to southerners is the position of First Vice President. Well, Mr. Stooge, we are not after positions. What we want in the CPA, like in the Khartoum Peace Agreement (KPA) is the right of self-determination through an internationally monitored referendum in just 11 months.

I know your likes are after such temporary and deceitful positions that can be ended by Jellaba any time (assassinated) after your job to deceive southerners is done, but be rest assured that even if a southerner is elected president of the Republic, the South would still vote for separation. Get that in your heads…. Your picture even looks confused and brainwashed. Your eyes betray you so much.... Disgusting!

      Dear readers,

Read the following useless statements by the Al-Turabi party and the nominated stooge.
The party just wants to deceive the southerners that at last in 2010 they can nominate a Dinka, whose qualification is being from the largest tribe in the South. That is insulting to the Dinka community and a laughing stalk. When did the north of Al-Turabi who himself designed the policy to marginalize came to realize that marginalization is an evil that should be ended. to you Mr. Nhial Deng I am one of your son colleague at the unicersity in Australia, now my advice to you is please by wish enough not to fall into temptation and overall the mass distruction which could lead to you being kicked out in sudan not just mentioning the south but the whole sudan regardless of your achievements or how far you went from studying. Take this as a serious matter of warning and be like a wise man who builds is house on the rocks and when the rains comes, it still stands strong. let Turabi and his party message pass by the other ear and pretend nothing has been mention on the media.

Remember that you are intelligent already, so no need to run with some hepicrits that can not even stand in front of you such as the islammic society which role is to whipe out the whole southerners, if you watched the documentary of Khartoum filmed in 1966 by, authorised and from the lead of Mr. Gordon the commander who fough the arabs during that time which arab muslims does not except sudan to have any christian society in position, its well notice that we as southerners are faced and will be continued faced to be confronted by our enemies and in the mean time they still failed.

I THINK TURABI MADE A BIG MISTAKE BY NOMINATING ABDULLAH

DENG. BECUASE SOUTHERNERS CAN SEE FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME

WHAT WILL THE FUTURE LOOK LIKE. AN ASSIMILATED SOUTHERNER

WHO IS AS LOYAL AS A DOG TO HIS MASTER. WHEN ALL THE GOLDEN

BOYS OF TURABI DESERTED HIM THIS ABDUL STUCK TO HIM

      SHOWING AN ENORMOUS LOYALTY.

HE HAS ANGERED SOUTHERNER IN MANY WAYS:

      1. HE BELIEVED THAT SOUTHERNERS HAVE NO CULTURE.

      2. SPLM/A CAN NOT CAPTURE TOWNS

      3. NOW HE IS ADDING INSULT TO INJURY BY SAYING THE CPA
ACHIEVED NOTHING FOR THE SOUTH BUT VICE PRESIDENCY.

      MR. DENG,

PLEASE READ THE INTIBAHA NEWSPAPER THAT SAID THE PRESIDENT

OF SUDAN HAVE NO SAY AT ALL IN THE RUNNING OF SOUTHERN

SUDAN. SOUTH SUDAN IS NOW A SEMI INDEPENDENT STATE WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. THESE ARE THE GAINES MADE BY THE CPA THROUGH THE SPILLED BLOOD OF OUR HEROES AND HERIONES. THROUGH THERE ACTION IT MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR MR. TURABI TO NOMINATE YOU. WITHOUT THE STRUGGLE OF YOUR PEOPLE YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN NOTHING IN THAT PARTY.
IF TURABI IS AIMING THIS MOVE AT CONVINCING SOUTHERNERS, HE WILL BE IN A SHAKY GROUND ESPECIALLY HIS NIF’S POLICIES BROUGHT A TERRIBLE PAIN AND DEATH TO THOUSANDS OF SOUTHERNERS.
HOWEVER, I BELIEVE THAT THE TARGET OF THIS MOVE IS TO SEND A MESSAGE TO THE ARAB NORTHERNERS THAT THE POLITICS OF EXCLUSION ARE NO LONGER WORKING.
MAYBE IT IS HIGH TIME FOR THE UMMA PARTY AND DUP AND THE COMMUNIST WHO ARE EXCLUSIVELY ARAB PARTIES TO START SEARCHING AND RECRUITING SOUTHERNERS, DARFURIANS OR NUBAS TO LEAD THEIR PARTIES.
PLEASE YOU THE MARGINALISED PEOPLE OF THE SUDAN THESE ARE GREAT TIMES TO KEEP UP THE PRESSURE ON THE CENTRE TO DISTRIBUTE POWER AND WEALTH EQUITABLY

I’m thanking God that the UMMA part nominated Dinka. If it was Nuer or any other tribe in the south Sudan, we would face extreme challengers in 2010 election. His own tribe would immediately withdraw from the SPLA party and vote for him simply because he is from their own tribe, leaving behind what Umma party meant in nominating Southerner. I’m always proud of Dinka that they investigate and understand what the politic behind the motives. Umma party nominated Deng not because he is well educated but because Umma party wants to draws southerners’ attention. They are pretending that they are the true democracy party in the country. Yes, they are but where were they ever since. Remember, NCP MUST BE HAPPY for this nomination because they think Southerners will divide themselves. Thought Portion will follow Deng Nhial and other portion will follow Kiir Mayardit or whoever will be SPLA candidate. Can anyone of you readers/writer personally explain to me the role that has been played by our president of sudan Omar Hassan Al-Bashir in 1989, does it have connection to what Turabi is trying to convince Mr. Deng Nhial, look at the statment made by Gatwech at the section that describe, electing a member from Dinka tribe will bring success to south/north side???? in my opinion i see some mind game being played tough by this islammic been arab gentlement Turabi, i have no problem with his statement through the media but what he wanted to do is not clear to me and all other southerners as matter of fact already Mr. Deng Nhial has made promise in one of the late article that i read back in 2 years ago ’quoting’ despite of any one opinion, my opinion is our southerners opinion so it seem to me that if he wanted to be the president i dont think its wise enough to wait for him to be called out by the leader of the arab Turabi for the nomination purpose, atleast it would be much but for a normal conversation in his office to seek out a solution if he couldn’t find anyone else.

But you know what, Bravo Turabi for advicing the President to stand tall and go to ICC - International Crimminal Court to face just against his charges filled out by ICC -...

    Dear brothers and sisters,

Hyenas are hyenas, leapoards are leapords and lions are lions. Even if these wild animals intermarried among themselves, the male always possess the offspring and the female becomes part of the male’s family regardless of whether she is a lioness or hyena.

This is another policy of divide and rule played by Turabi a very clever fox that usually jumps over lazy dogs. Southern Sudanese are never lazy dogs again. We have learned from our mistakes and weaknesses in the past and will never get cheated again whatsoever the case.

Why this time the PCP decided to nominate a third or last class muslim to stand for presidency? Even children will start asking themselves as many questions as they can. Indeed everyone will think about these politics and fails to understand or even get mad about why this happened?

This policy is to divide Southern Sudanese and to weaken their strength in standing firm and have one voice. This means during elections, Southern Sudanese will all be in dilemma of a choice of whether to vote for their last class muslim brother or to vote for their high class christian brother who will be voted for presidency.

Let us forget about the shiny words, the docile appearence of Turabi as a newly married wife being submissive to her lovely and down to earth husband. As I said earlier, Turabi is Turabi and first class muslim unlike Abdalla Deng who is a painted picture of a muslim person.

In all my arguments, I am not against our muslim brothers and sisters but I am arguing that we need to stand as Southern Sudanese, first to get out from our masters and out of last or zero class citizenship. Thereafter, we will have choice of our own how to practice our religious beliefs. Abdalla Deng’s selection to run for presidency is a big trick.

All the Northern Sudan muslims have united to fight a cold war against Southern Sudanese. It is up to Abdalla Deng to win the elections if he can. Faith is faith and no one can stop people from believing in what they think is a requirement from God.

Apart from imbecile lyrics that I am sick of, Abdhalla Deng Nhial should be judged by his merit. After all, every Sudanese is responsible for his/her vote. Cloaked or open obsequiousness will not treat decades of torment that has ravaged the country. We are no longer the stepping stones.......

I commend PCP for making this leap of faith and selecting a Southerner. SPLM should do the same and select Yasser Arman for presidency. In fact, he would be a better candidate than Kiir. They only other CDRs that would come close to being true SPLM candidates are Malik Agar and Pa’gan Amum.

        Lobojo,

You making a big mistake of mythical politick. Such as politics do not work in the era in which ethnic or racist religous politics is being encouraged. You need to look at Sudan politic under a new rational as stipulated in the CPA, which is unity or secsession by People’s will or under new basis. Don’t sell yourself short as second-class to arab anymore. Right now you have the right to run and become President or Leader of a Country that include the two races, arab and african, in its fabric. I suggest you read the provisions in the CPA and previous speeches by John Garang de Mabior to see how the philosophy of the New Sudan came about. Good to luck on that and happy new year to you.

        Dear Southerners,
Its Such a big, big surprise that at this critical time that south sudanese should be given the PCP’s chair as presidential candidate. Why? We all know that the PCP and Al Turabi are all but one in one.
He is only wheeling Abdullah Deng Nhial for his evil intentions. Turabi is one big devil in comparison to Bashir. His venom is longlasting and can destroy generations and generations of Southerners to come.
Dear brothers and sisters, Let’s not slip when we are so near the bank of safety, equality, democracy and freedom. The decision we make as Southerners now will be the turning point in history and therefore we stand to be judged by history and the generations hereafter.

Dinka must be the fundamental hurdle which the Arabs tried by hook and crook to overcome in their quest to put the Sudan together under the pretext of attractive unity.
The Al Turabi’s PCP decision to nominate a Dinka as their presidential candidate imply that Dinka is the major obstacle to the Islamic regime’s yearn to ruin the South aspiration for an independent South.

Once the Dinka tribe is divided and used as a stooge to rule sudan indirectly by choosing Dinka as a president the rest will automatically follow the direction.
That trick will not work under the watch of greater Dinka and the awaking South tribes.

I believe the SouthSudan government will skilfully counterattack the trick.

Abdullah Dump Nhial Al-Turabi, those are Hassan Al-Turabi Sons who he raced them long time ago for the long team goals and now we are at that goals "USES THE SLAVES AGAINST SLAVES." This all discuss by the northerns Parties AND Politicas to blind Stupid Southerners.
Another El Bashier candidates NCP is Andrew for the SSLA to get chances near James Igga so he leak whatever going on in the SSLA. And sooner than later, other parties will uses SOUTHERNERS for their presidential elections and at the end they will kick him or kill as they used before for other politicans. This game now is clear, the northerners already know Southerners are heading to for INDEPENDENT, the why they stated using DUMPS SOUTHERNERS AGAINST SOUTHERNERS, probably that maybe Plan (C,D,or F)and plan (F) here means they already fails.

It seems to me Lakes State has many divisions among it citizens, that why the current governor called for emg’ meeting probably maybe there is people or those called themself candidates playing downgames for the interset of NCP not for the citizens of Lakes states. For examples, Mr. Andrew, in his statements that he came with all requirements documents, which means to me as a simple person that he has told to do so. addition to that, he didn’t explained or said something about his post as an advisor to El Bashier, did he resigned or what is going on exactly.

Abdullah Deng, Salva Kiir, Reiak Machar, Pagan Amom Yassir Arman, Farooq Jathkot, Lam akol, Taban Deng, Ignis Lokodo. Omar Albashir, Alsadiq Almahadi, Hassan Alturabi, Mohamed Osman Almerghani, Farooq Abu-Issa, Mubarak Alfadil and other liberal figures are expected to be presidential candidates. We the people of the 1 million miles Sudan we will have the chance of the best choice. We can change the history in Sudan to choose the best man for us whether he is a Muslim from the South, North, East or West or a Christian or non-religious from the South. We have to be aware that lighting never strikes in the same place twice just to please our eyes. You people of the big Sudan it is time to forget about your tribal, religious culture and places differences to concentrate on only one target objective, that is to choose your acceptable president. If not acceptable to all of you he should be acceptable to most of you. One thing you have to remember, concentrate on what your candidate says while the elections campaign to ask him for achievement when that respectable candidate takes office. Choose the best for yourself and for the future of your country regardless of the meaningless color, religion, tribal trivial differences.

I hope most of you, of course not all of you, agree with me.

The nomination of Mr. Abdallah Deng Nhial by the Popular Congress Party (PCP) of Dr. Hassan Abdallh al-Turabi to contest for the Presidency of the Republic in the up coming general eletions scheduled for April this year, is not a panacea for the South-North political conflict.

If Deng become the President of the Sudan, he will be biased to the Islamists’ policies because he is not a secularist. None of the Southerners who are nominated to contest the Presidency shall win because the elections are already rigged. The National Congress Party (NCP)has intentionally reduced the number of Southerners to 8,000,000 millions in 2008 general census.

Separation will be the best option for the Southerners. So, let us work hard to create an independent state in the geographical location called South Sudan.

To those who are rooting for separating the south from the north, I would say this is not the right solution. This is what the enemy is looking for; we need to be more united than separated. And I think to have election on that is wrong, and even if it’s okay to vote, I feel that every citizen in Sudan has the right to vote on that not only the south. What kind of equal rights is that? . People from the north have the same rights in the south and vise versa. If you look around or check the history you will find that most powerful nations are the united ones (e.g. USA, USSR, proposed European Union, etc.). I am from Odurman, and I realize that there are many ignorant people in Sudan and other countries who promote discrimination. Africa as a whole have pride in tribes (each tribe thinks they are better than others). Even in South Sudan Dinka Vs. Nuir etc. So we need to educate our new generations to adopt unity and equal rights for all (sound like a dream) but that is the only way out. This is not a religion issue, as all religions don’t promote discrimination. It is the people who make those mistakes. A real example is Dar Fur (Muslims against Muslims), so it is all about tribal war and pride. I can grantee you one thing, if South Sudan separate from the north it will no be peaceful county (many tribal war). So please leave race and religion alone, I am a Muslim, Islam teach me to treat people equal, the word Islam itself means Peace (Salam) and total submission to God. Profit Mohamed (peace be upon him), came to teach us how to follow the right teachings of all the great profits of God who came with the same message (e.g. Isa / Jesus, Mousa, etc.) peace be upon them all. As matter of fact if you read the Quran, you will find that Jesus peace be upon him was mentioned more than any other profit including profit Mohamed himself. So I invite all of you to seek the truth and read about Islam just for your knowledge. I am not trying to convince you here as we as Muslims we believe only God can do that. Our duty is to just ask you to seek knowledge. By the way Islam is not only for Arabs. As matter of fact Arabs are only 15% of total Muslims today. Islam also is the most growing religion because by becoming Muslim you will follow the correct teaching of Jusus peace be upon him, who by the way was born in the middle east and spoke Aramic, which is the sister language of Arabic not English. Some Europeans stole the true bible and changed it over the time, that’s why you see many versions of it.

Sorry I did not mean to turn this to religion debate, but thought to share my views with you. After all we all humans came from the same origin, so let us leave all the tribal prides and leave in peace. It may take time but if we stick to it, it will happen one day. May be not this generation but the next one.
