SPLM maintains popularity in the whole country-Igga

December 22, 2009 (JUBA) – The Speaker of the Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly, James Wani Igga, who is also the SPLM third deputy Chairman charged with political strategic planning campaign committee, has said his party maintains popularity in the whole country.

"It is energetically getting massive supports because of the positive strides it has made towards rehabilitation in the South Sudan," he said appealing to Sudanese People to participate in the recovery and construction programs.

Challenges are being gradually overcome as regional government is paying particular attentions to insecurity, repair and building of physical infrastructure among others, he added.
He further appealed to citizens not to be misled by some certain politicians.

The key figure in the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement who was speaking to Wundruba women representatives visiting Juba for talks over territorial concern in the area, said his government will continue providing a firm but fair leadership.

He said as much as there are challenges that attracts opposition attention against the nascent regional Government , the region is generally doing well as it nudges best alternatives to settling tribal and territorial differences not resorts to killing public figures.

He appealed to Southerners to guard the peace the region is enjoying under leadership General Salva Kiir Mayardit, whom he said is neither vindictive nor a tribalist.

"Comrade Salva is no new person to me and in the SPLM leadership as well that I have known him for longer period as a person who is neither vindictive nor a tribalist. He embraces everyone," he said.

Therefore, I am appealing to my fellow South Sudanese people, supporters and sympathizers alike not to be swayed by some politicians who are always speaking negatively about

He continued to stress that there is no government that does not have challenges. "Even developed countries face challenges but what matters is being on the right track," he stressed.

Mr. Igga said the SPLM led government has made some progress, citing the education sector in which schools have been constructed all over the region as opposed to the grass-thatched ones that were used for a long time during war periods.

He called on citizens not to entirely rely on Government but to be part of moving the region forward economically calling South Sudanese who can add value to the country’s economy to get on board instead of always looking for negative aspects in the manner the SPLM government runs.

Well spoken CDR Igga! SPLM is the sole vehicle that delivered peace to the people of Sudan and South in particular. Any attempt to rewrite history is nothing that short of wishful thinking. Those who tried peace by getting in bed with enemy soon realized that NCP is not a party that respect political prostitution and accordingly kicked them out of the bed.

I wish CDR Igga could be chosen to run for the higher office as he has proven himself in the field and political sphere as a competent and visionary leader!

This Wani Igga whom you praise is hated by his own people Bari tribe, ask any educated man from Bari tribe, he\she can tell you why they dislike Mr.Jamis Wani Egga. Dinkas like him because he follow and implement orders from them. Other tribes apart from Bari Speakers like him because Wani know how to entertain them. Generally, he is Entertainment stock.

I do not see anything in what igga just said, am sure he did not insult any southerner or Sudanese, he is just talking about unity of the people, this is what the country wants, not this hatred that some foreigners are trying to spread here on this website, but only will be met with failure and frasturation to them.

Excellent message by SPLM deputy and Leader of parliament Mr Wani igga, Alot of people do not know about the unity of southerners, southerners now understand the game of divide and rule by this Arabs and are united and cannot be fooled through weak moves that is already known as an old game of divide and rule by Arabs and others, SPLM is fighting fo all Sudanese, all marginalized people not just for few people as NCP is doing, SPLM wants a free democratic Sudan based on human rights and justice for all its citizens, SPLM will win this election if not for NCP rigging the votes in advance.

SPLM could be sole party if its objectives were placed in order.

The party objects were setted in hard way and when lost its leader Dr. Jonh Garang no body placed them in the need full way.

Igga talks whatbased on his interest but not my interest as a citizen nor intesrest of others.

SPLM was popular then but not now day then why?

Things are like this out side; there are un full fil promised from the party, the war victims are not yet pay.

It is 4 years now since CPA signed.

It is4 years now since SPLA solders started paying.
It is 4 years now since GOSS is declear as standing government.

Then where is the service and conpensation for those lost thier dear life for the sake of others during 21 yrs war?

You talks of popularity of the SPLM when the qauter(80%)of the south population are never get the good ness of this GOSS ruling by the by SPLM.

You are really greedy, the greedy may thinks that all people are satified when he alone get satified.
