A LETTER TO THE GOVERNORS OF THE TEN STATES
Your Excellency Live For Ever!!
I am writing my petitions and supplications to you because God of heaven has given you power and a great assignments and responsibilities upon His people. And the entire lives and the fair go of the people are in your hands. You can make them either rich or poor, learnt or unlearnt.
You are aware that since we got Independent in 1956, there has never been services offer to the people of South Sudan because of our religion and skin colour. We have been living for fifty years without running water (cold and hot) in our homes, electricity, roads, schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, foods, and houses and up to this day.
We are unwanted, cast out and condemned people in our own country and treated as slaves by Khartoum government. I am telling you the truth because the truth will set me free your Excellency.
The SPLA fought a just war so that the Southerners should have their rights to live as human being and not treated as second class citizens any more.
As a Governor of unwanted people, I believe that you should be heavily fighting to eliminate the power of insecurity, corruption, bribery, tribalism, discrimination, division, cheating, poverty, hunger, laziness, injustice, inequality and diseases in your states. These are the enemy of our development and the cause of our backwardness.
But unfortunately, we see and hear in Sudan Tribune Website that the criminals and evil men are killing innocent people everyday in your States. The people are dying like animals; even animals have their rights to life and protection. And human lives are not being respected and protected in your own States. Why is it that the lives of the Southerners are not important and value? Are they not created by God and in His own image? Remember the two and half millions lives perish in war, are these not enough?
Security issue, protecting life, saving life, rescuing life, giving quality of life to people is the top agenda of any government on this earth. Are there not enough trained and brave policemen to arrest all criminals and evil men in your States? If we are not serious in protecting and saving human lives from danger, do you think that we can be able to supply their daily needs? Where is our love and sacrifice for people? Our hero Dr. John Garang de Mabior died for the rights of his people, how come that we his children are not planning enough to protect his remnant people from death, and let them live longer in South Sudan? I am indeed not challenging you but I am crying for my people. “Oh Eloi, Eloi is there no one who will stand up for this people of South Sudan”?
There are six criminals groups in South Sudan. First, The Ugandan Rebels (LRA), second, the militia, third, cattle robbers, fourth, the enemy of our Independent State, fifth, corruption doers, sixth, violence against women and children
etc. That means that there must be six or more different types of trained and well equipped policemen in each state. There must be many police stations, police vinyercles and cars; police trained dogs, courts, prisons and good roads, wherever people live if we are really meaning business for people or people is our business.
Our greatest and urgent needs now are security, economy, anti-corruption, good roads and preparing, advertising, enlightening and training all people(voters) for referendum in 2011. We need to be transparent and open and let people know what we are doing and planning for them. This will create trust and unity among you and your people. Give reasonable payments to your employees especially to policemen, teachers and doctors.
And do not forget to put to death this virus call corruptions, it is very dangerous and the major cause and the downfall of our nation especially Africa. Those who are corrupt or anti peoples’ development and prosperity, put them into jail for ten to twenty years. Educate, educate, educate your people because they have been deprived of knowledge and understanding. And create them jobs; train them with various new skills. Any youths who do not want to go to schools must be arrested by police public safety. Education must be compulsory in your states and begin to plan from now the great evolutionary educational Program in all over the South Sudan after our Independent state.
I wish you all to copy and follow the example of the Governor of Malakal. He changed Malakal city and Greater Upper Nile State in less than a year. Because of his excellent work to the people, the anti development and the enemy of the Southerners dismissed him from the work. We need more Governors like this man who I forgot his name. Your Excellency, my Governor. I am praying for you and our God will bring you back to finish the work you have started for your suffering people. You are in our hearts!!
A message to all of you and Jesus says that “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty you gave me drink, I was a stranger you welcomed me, I was naked you clothed me, I was sick and you cared for me, I was in prison and you visited me, For whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me (Mat.25:35-40)”.
Your Excellency, I hope you may put my petitions and requests into your considerations. May God bless you richly and your beloved family and give you wisdom and love as you lead your people into a new era. And thanks.
Francis Alexander from Australia.
