November 22, 2009 (JUBA) — The semi autonomous government of south Sudan today has apprehended individuals linked to recent attack involving GOSS minister of Agriculture and forestry Dr. Samson Kwaje along Lainya-Wondruba road on Sunday 15 to Juba.

Dr. Samson Kwaje is currently in Nairobi Hospital since November 16 under treatment after an attack by unknown assailants allegedly supporters of those opposing detaching Wondruba from Juba to Lainya.
The government of Southern Sudan in collaboration with central Equatoria state government formed a joint operation hunting criminals behind the attack involving minister of Agriculture and forestry.
"They have been arrested and investigations with these criminal acts are underway, said minister of internal affairs of the government of the Southern Sudan," General Gier Chuang Aluong from Juba.
"It was not an easy task getting these criminals but it became possible because of the cooperation the local population had given our security forces," he added.
The minister who sounded more relieved for having been the first official to condemn the act; said local leaders have played a great role in the identification of the criminals.
"The forces just made proper use of information they obtained from local people," he said adding that most of the security elements in the joint operation were from the area hence able to get information from local population since they were able to speak their language.
