“Entire ignorance is not so terrible or extreme an evil, and is far from being the greatest of all; too much cleverness and too much leaning, accompanied with ill bringing-up, are far more fatal.” Plato.

By Luk Kuth Dak

November 21, 2009 — Sometimes I consider myself extremely lucky for being able to read, write and speak the Arabic language to the level that I was not only able to use it in making a descent living as newspaper correspondent, a radio anchorman and a press secretary, but it’s also given an opportunity of a lifetime to get to know, first-hand, the war that’s being waged against the South by the bigoted North, and how the Arab invaders really think about the black people of South Sudan and Africa in general. I would be the first to admit that the Arabic newspapers, are the source of most of the material in some of my previous columns, about the “ Jalaba golden boys”.

On November, 15, 2009 ( al Akhbar al Yom) Arabic daily newspaper quoted a South Sudanese, a Nuer, I suppose, (even though he can’t complete a sentence in Nuer) and a chairman of some political party headquartered in one of the most luxurious suburban of the capital Khartoum, and who lives in a multimillion-dollar home nearby, not to mention his latest model vehicle, as saying “ The 50 + 1 margin to determine the separation of South Sudan is unacceptable. It should be a 100%, he said.” “ South should not separate anyway, because Sudan is big enough for everybody, he barked.

Obviously, the scoundrel politician who has mastered the art of manipulation and shortcuts to the world of wealth without having to sweat, did not disappoint his masters in the so-called National Islamic Front (NIF) where his pay check comes from, simply because, the most treacherous statement he made, has never been disgorged before even by the most vicious enemies and haters of the South, the likes of the bigoted extremists: Nafia Ali Nafia, Mustafa Osman, and Muhammad Mundour al Mahedi. That politician not only did he try to make separation difficult, a position taken publicly by the National Congress Party (NCP), but he wants to make it impossible all together, by introducing that inconceivable margin of a 100%.

That Nuer’s son is none other than David de Chand, the Chairman of the so-called South Sudan Democratic Front (SSDF), who continues to put the second largest tribe in one box, and appoints himself their only spokesman. “ The Nuer will not allow the Dinka to rule the South,” he claimed. That’s as treacherous as it gets. Virtually, any time one puts a group of people in a box, that person is doing a disservice to that group. It’s more like someone white man suggesting that all black people are stupid. After all, the Nuer people do not think or behave the same. Certainly, it’s an undeniable truth that the vast majority in the Nuer nation are terrific human beings, who have given so much to the South Sudan’s struggle, but who are amazingly dead- silent about the acts of evil coming from the very few, of David’s like. Unfortunately, we are all- collectively, paying the price with our reputation being trashed by that selfish few.

In addition, as hurtful and dangerous as his remakes were, I was not taken by surprised. Not at all. Of most of the South Sudanese people, I can categorically say that I know the traitor so very well, indeed, that I no longer take him very seriously. But if there’s someone out there who wants to learn more about the so-called Professor, David de Chand, you do not need to look somewhere else other then to contact me, and I will be more that happy to feed you with everything you needed to know about this con artist, David de Chand.

In 1987, I attended Morris Brown College next to the Atlanta University where he alleges to have receive his PhD from. Not only that, we were living in the same apartment complex ( Park Town North) in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I saw him everyday. He drove me to work before Kormach Gak Deng and me jointly bought an old Volkswagen to take us to school and back home.

By all accounts, David is not stupid. He’s also a likeable person. But he sure worships the “ mighty” dollar so much that he can smell the blood-money from thousands of miles away, which is how he ended up in Khartoum, the “ paradise” of “ Jalaba golden boys”.

Final thought: Eventually, there is no force in the world that can stop the great people of South Sudan from determining their future in 2011 the referendum, only thirteen months away. We owe that victory not only to our fallen and living war heroes, but to the next generation as well.

    Uncle Luk Kuth Dak,

Yes, you are right. Prof. David de Chand is self-imposed Nuer spokesman.

But don’t forget that you are also equal with him because you are self-imposed perfect Nuer politician or writer.

De Chand speaks for Nuer politicians and you, Luk Kuth, speak against Nuer politicians. You are the same type, but on opposite interests.

Dear Gatwech, respectfully, I think you missed the sarcasm in the article. I hold the Nuer reputation so dearly that, I would never do the kinds of things these blood-suckers are infilicting on us.

No one else is going to protect our name from being tarnish but us.

Remember: charity begins at home, my friend.

        Uncle Luk Kuth Dak,

You are one of those tarnashing the good image of the Nuer. Picking on every Nuer politician for the sake of pleasing others is un-Nuer.

When will your colleagues you are trying to please start to write about their crook politicians such as Abel Alier Akuai, George Kongor Arop, Professor Moses Machar, Bona Malual, Dr. Francis Mading Deng, etc? Or are they accepting these politicians no matter how they tarnish the name of their tribe?

These crook politicians of theirs are messing up their assignments in their usual historical way of contributing negatively to the South. Instead they are praising you for insulting the Nuer politicians. That is a mockery to you, Uncle!

And how about you, Uncle Luk Kuth Dak, would you be happy if somebody picks on you from today and writes about you?

Please stop pleasing your potential bosses. If you are looking for a job somewhere, don’t seek it at the expense of the Nuer. You are tarnishing your very individual name, instead!

      Gatwech

You are really born sinful and you are the notorious traitor the South Sudan ever had. Why blaming Luk for no apparent point. Luk Kuth Dak is right in is argument that it is not logic to spoil the reputation of a big tribe like Nuer due to stomach money. De Chan’s mind evolution is so slow and that is why he keep deceiving himslef by boasting about his fake PhD level. However what De Chan beleives about South is contrary to what we all know about a PhD holder does to his country.

De Chan also failed to understand that the money which Omer Bashir uses to bribe him comes from the soil of his mother’s land. Uncle David, why don’t you come to the South to take thausands and thausands of barrels of the Oil of your land instead of Bashir to sell this oil for you and later he shamlessly gives you little cash as if you are not a PhD thinker. Aren’t you?

Gatwech let me tell you my friend, David De Chan is not the exception Southern Foodician person. There are many Foodicians figures all over the Southern Sudan’s tribes. E.g Dr Lam Akol from Collo, Bona Malual from Dinka, Agelo Bida from one of the Equatorian tribes and ecetera. David De Chan should only talk about his stomach and not about Nuers whom he knew nothing about it. Who is he to talk about this mighty tribe (Nuer) which sacrifced their thausands lives before even De Chan get his fake PhD?

How many Nuer David has to employ in Bashir’s government through his stomach relationship? And how many sons of Nuer that get food from the soil of the their homeland (South) which De Chand beleives to be given to northerners in return he gets pocket money?

De Chan and his like wanted to sell South to Arab in exchange of getting pocket money but the blood of heroes/heriness who died because of this soil will not forgive them. The blood of heroes and heriness will kill these traitors right on border before they set dirty feet on holy land (South Sudan soil).

If they want to bark in Khartoum against South let them do for the sake of eating leftover food on the table of rich Arabs but please do not attempt one day to set foot on South’s soil before you undergo ritual cleansing because you have mingled your flesh with the blood money in Khartoum.

      Bravo Luk Kuth Dak

        Nuan,

I know you are just taking advantage of Uncle Luk Kuth Dak’s weak position of betraying his old friends. Look, he claimed he was a good friend to Dr. Riek Gai Kok and yet he betrayed him by writing bunches of articles tarnishing the name of this great Nuer politician.

He again claimed that he was a good friend of Professor David De Chand and yet he betrayed him by writing this pleasing article to tarnish his name.

If you analyze his writings targetting his old friends, you find nothing more than either individual differences with them or betrayal to please his potential opponent bosses. How did he become their good friends in the first place if these politicians were so bad as he wanted people to believe?

Nuan, if we list the names of all crook politicians in the South from all tribes including Nuer, Dinka, Equatorians, Shilluk, etc, who work with Jallaba since 1956, or with the NCP for that matter, Professor David De Chand and Dr. Riek Gai Kok could be in number 1,000. There are other thousands of non-Nuer politicians who lead the list working for NCP’s Jallaba. Stop that hypocrisy!

There are lifetime traitors like Abel Alier leading the list who have been working for Jallaba since their childhood until now when their hair is so white-grey. You are simply not honest with yourselves.

These active traitors handle very sensitive national assignments such as elections. They are messing it up in favor of Jallaba. This is very serious instead of wasting the writing with David de Chand who handles no such a sensitive assignment. Please learn to be honest writers.

    Dear Luk K Dak,

    Leave Thielng alone,

First of all, this Gatwech is the tribalist person who can not understand the fruitfil of the articles. He manipulates every single article on his own mindset and he left out the beneficial. He want you to comment or write on the tribal line. He want you to take in the favor of Nuer or aganist the SPLM- the GOSS,but that can not help us in the South.

Dear brother Dak, you see now from your comment you made after your article. He make you loss little bit but that would not be the case as long you aware of your reasonable and relevant thought in your medulla. You said charity begin at home, is it in the South or Nuer land?.

My advise to you is that when you compose any article, don,t response to the blame first let others response and be the obervant. It seem like you want to defend your self by saying you mean the same thing Thieling demanded. Thanks

I am not a Dinka or Nuer, but all Nueris people are really confused and they are like dead bodies waiting for coffins in South Sudan, they are just move up and down looking for money as like moneyminded people, look Dr. Riek Machar, what is happening there in Sudan, he contributed 98% of the problems thinking that he is not a leader.

Look government of Southern Sudan, Nuer are the most dominant there, they are still commplaining, what should we give to Nuer so that they can barking.
