South Sudan upset by voter registration in Diaspora

November 5, 2009 (MALAKAL) —The government of Southern Sudan today showed concern over the exclusion of major countries where major Southern Sudanese communities reside abroad.

Sudan launched a one month voter registration operation inside and outside the country. Ahead of general election scheduled to be held next April.

The National election commission released a list of countries where Sudanese in Diaspora can register as voters to participate in the forthcoming presidential election.

The countries include Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, the UK, Belgium (for all Western Europe) and Washington, New York, Los Angles for the USA.

Reacting to the selection, General Oyai Deng Ajak, the government of South Sudan’s minister of regional Cooperation, questioned the exclusion of nine states that border Sudan such as Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia Kenya, Uganda, where many South Sudanese lives as refugees.

The exclusion sparked skepticism from Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) to regard it as one the National Congress Party strategies to rig the elections by isolating the South.

John Duku, the Head of Mission at the GOSS liaison office in Nairobi, Kenya, said they were shocked by the list.

"We could not understand why NEC excluded the five countries such as Kenya where peace signed and is known for still hosting number Southern Sudanese;" he posed adding where the sub-Saharan African states are.

"If the elections are for the North alone then we have no problem but if the South is going to take part then these countries (Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Congo-Brazzaville and the Democratic Republic of Congo) must be included," asked Mr. Duku.

Sudan’s long-delayed elections are meant to bring democratic transformation to the country ahead of the 2011 referendum for South Sudan, in accordance with the 2005 agreement that ended Africa’s longest-running civil war.

The NEC, the bi-partisan political body overseeing the implementation of elections, established state high committees in June, but it has yet to transfer adequate funding to them. Some of the committees claim they have not received funds for payment of voter registration officials.

It is your right especially you Southern Sudanese residing in foreign countries to participate in the forthcoming election.

This calls prompt action from Southern authorities to reverse the deliberate plans meant for massive rigging of elections by Arabs.

The registration of Southern Sudanese who is willing to register must be extended to all the places where they are residing regardless of their geographical spread.

Otherwise, this is how Arabs begin influencing the out come of the events.

GOSS do something, gives your reaction on behalf of us in such cases of rejection as well such as conditions must take place e.g One southern would be count as Ten from the same race. Cus if they dont believe in justice we do believe and that is why we have thousands of reason to have our own country which can base on justice and equality.

Look especially Kenya where the peace was sign and still host millions of southern Sudanese, How will you accept this decision? It should not be like census where we warn you but still stick wit the decision. we should have reverse policies to keep them busy in the north while we take a positive steps in the south.

Remember the fate of southern Sudan lies with you now and better futur will come with your decision now. Act right how and we will be pround tommorow. No decite anymore!!!!!!!!!!!

What do you mean the neighbouring countries should be included, do you expect Ugandans, Conglese, Kenyans and Ethiopians to get invloved as part of South Sudan? now it is time to cry for people, but before who are the people behind the killing, attack, looting and ridding of cattle in South which result to lost of lives? I welcome the idea that our own brothers in neighbouring countries as refugees should come and participate, but why don’t you improve the situation in South, security is one. Those people panic to come because of dictatorship in South where some idiots believe to have own the power over others. Blame yourselves for the poor management of the government not people in refugee. Some Southern places are already occupied by criminals escpecially in Nimule, jebel kujur and other parts of Equatoria, so where to do you expect those refugees to come and live, just to vote for dictator while their land is being given to outsider. For those far ways such as USA, UK and others, they face financal problem for transport to South. And some are already cititzenship to these countries, so do we allow doul citizenship South?

      Logic girl

We know you are an Arab and working for NCP agents, but look, why has the countries in Arab world been included, can you answer that questions? example Egypt and Saudi Arabia, if there is alot fo Sudanese there then the same with Kenya and Uganda, we have alot fo Sudanese there too wether refugees or not they are sudanese and have the full rights to participate and elect their leader, unless you NCP criminals have to exclude all countries or include all countries where there is big number of Sudanese. You cannot pick only one country that the Arab like and exclude other countries.

About the insecurity, this has been the NCP tactic to support the LRA and also militias, so they can disrypt the elections and referendum, your NCP game is now very clear and known by all southerners and international community.

Another thing is the issue of four names, tell your corrupt leader that those rufugess are used to three names because as a system of UNHCR people are only accepted to have three names. Brothers and sisters,

Please blame Maulana Abel Alier, Kiir’s SPLM appointed NEC chairman for excluding sudanese diaspora in Kenya, Ethiopia, Congo, DRC, CAR, Uganda & the western countries like Australia ad Canada. The SPLM is the chairman of the national election in the person of Abel. This Dinka-Bor elder is killing south sudanese aspirations as he did in 1972. NCP gets a good friend in Abel Alier who will rig the election in NCP ’s favor. Fortunately, there is hope for south sudanese, Abel is going to die before the election!!

There are just two alternatives to that election potential scandal. The first one and the most credible one is to disfranchise the Sudanese in diaspora. The second option is to consider countries that house most Southern Sudanese like Australia and Newzealand,Canada,Kenya,Uganda and Ethiopia.

Otherwise, everyone should get prepared for Al-Bashir as the next president of Sudan because the elections have already been rigged before polling.I am not exaggerating it but it’s a fact!!.For me,Choosing Abel Alier as the NEC chairman was a trick to silence southerners at the end of the elections as they will be told ’It was one of you who was responsible for the elections,so everything has been done in favour of you!’

I hope that isn’t SPLM’s indirect way of endorsing Albashir as he allegedly requested in the past.

This what we have all been talking about that NCP wants to rigged this election,

This old man Abel Alier, this man is going to destroy south Sudan again like he did before, let us be careful, there is no joke here, Abel Alier is an Arab informaer, he has an Arab stamp in his buttocks if you people do not believe it.

SPLM should not have picked Abel Alier as the chief of election comission, everybody know that we cannot live up to that job and he is always int he same bed with Arabs.

NCP of Omer bashir have already planned to rig this coming elections, they think everyone is stupid to understand their game, why are they delaying to let in the international observers? why are they delaying they insisting on short time for registration and also they do not want to pass the nessecary bills which supports elections?

Why only Arab world country like Egypt, U.A.E, Saudi Arabia and other have been included in this countries for election, why is this, what is special about this Arab countries, what about the African countries like Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda and Congo where you have a big number of Sudanese citizens there even more than in the Arab world.

Why have this african countries been excluded, what is the reason for that while other countries have been included?

This is the discrimination and marginalisations which Arab have been practising in Sudan and they still want to continue that way.

This is a dirty tactic by NCP to rig the elections, They will have their own people in Arab world doing the elections then they will increase the number of votes int he boxes from those countries then claim that they won the elections, they are even excluding some constituencies inside Sudan, all areas with non NCP supporters are not being allowed to register, they tell them they do not have proper documents to register, so they elections is not going to be free and fair, Where is the promised democracy by NCP? This NCP are not serious about change in Sudan by any means.

SPLM have to stand its ground here, please playing around with politics is not good for democracy in south Sudan and Sudan in general, unless Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Congo and Chad are added to this lists, there will be no elections, NCP has to understand that, we do not want the same mistakes which happened during the census to happen again.

NCP has to stop playing and be transparent and allow a free and fair democratic elections otherwise there is still no change in Sudan.

The Nuer interpret the rights as being something to apply anywhere, anytime, regardless of whether it affects other people down the line. This meaning of rights is a source of problems, even in the Nuer country. The Nuer have trouble with all of the neighbors for this reason. They have trouble with the Dinka, the Shilluk, the Murle, and the Anyuak because of their inherent violent culture. It has a lot to do with manhood. It is a social factor for a man to be proud and be respected for achievements be it bad achievements. To achieve that, a man must go out to fight and get it, in a good way or in a bad way. It does not matter. It is the end result that is important. A man must not be passive or afraid. A man must be daring and aggressive to have that good name and esteem among the peers. That is why there are a lot more deaths and feuds in the Nuer land. For example, around Akobo, families kill each other a lot for trivial reasons, just to show strength, courage and influence leading to prestige and control. This is opposite to Anyuak culture.

The Nuer quest for rights is extreme. They can fight in the airplane in midair in the sky. Listen to this: A Nuer was in an airplane. Other passengers got drinks in cups with uniform color. The Nuer got his in a different color by chance. The Nuer lashed at the hostess: “Am I not equal to others that you gave me a different cup? Take it away. I do not want to drink”. One passenger volunteered to exchange cups. The problem was solved. The Nuer was satisfied that his “dignity and equality” was restored. He did not care about how people thought of him. He cared about the end result. Anyway, that was the Nuer equality at its best anywhere at anytime. What remains to be seen is whether all the Nuer will ride a car and live in a house like that of Salva Kiir in order to be equal. In Gambella the Nuer said they wanted a Nuer president in the same office with the Anyuak president in order to be equal. It seems like a joking matter but it is serious for the Nuer.

It is opposite with the Anyuak where a man must not be daring because it is a disrespect to oneself, to family and society. A man must only get up and revenge or confront an imminent threat. The Anyuak man thinks first about what the society will regard him if he reacted to situations just on spur. The Anyuak man looks at the horizon and projects the end result. His decision to make a move depends on that projection. That is why there are less deaths and feuds among the Anyuak.

The exercise of rights among the Nuer is extreme and loose without limits. Everybody must be equal in everything. This is a very dangerous democracy. The only way Nuer are seen to be unequal is in the ownership of cattle. Cattle are mostly derived from marriages of daughters. Every Nuer does not have equal number of wives or daughters. This is a natural inequality. They can do nothing about it. But at some point it is cattle raids for wealth and equality.

The Anyuak democracy is regulated. It has limits. There are lines drawn that must not be crossed between elders or chiefs or kings. Land is well respected as to its value and boundaries with others. Land belongs to God but people who inhabit it through time own it. The whole of Anyuak land is demarcated according to clan or sections. There is freedom of movement to live anywhere but with permission of those who own that territory. That permission does not entitle one to assert claims beyond what was offered. This person must follow the norms of the new place.

It should by now be clear to the reader that there is so much that divides the Anyuak with the Nuer even though they border each other. The Anyuak resent the Nuer attitude and their way of violent life as it is full of blood. The Anyuak continue to resist the imposition of that way of life on them by the Nuer unlimited expansion to their land.

The Nuer quest for more rights is compounded by the ever scarce resources in some of their areas such as the Lou. When it is dry season in Lou the human and the animals both suffer. They migrate to water points. Once there it is time to claim ownership and rights. That is one reason why there is much fighting at cattle camps. Water and grazing are the main resources that cause big problems between Nuer and Anyuak at Akobo also. Getting the chance to drink water and graze the cattle led to claims of unlimited rights. The Nuer fought hard to the point of claiming Akobo today just because of getting access to drink water in the first place. The Anyuak reaction to this is what the Nuer call hatred. At the border of Gambella, the Nuer do not seek water or grass. It is simply a lust to move to have new lands and experience the unknown regardless of consequences. Here again there is resistance. The Nuer call it hatred.

The exodus of Nuer into Ethiopia as refugees and simple wanderers has been because of the civil war in the Sudan. This gave a big chance for the Nuer to exert unlimited rights to the point that they do not want to return to Sudan or back to the borders where they actually lived before the war. Refugees proper are in the camps, registered and monitored. They will return to Sudan in the ongoing repatriation process. There are those in the middle, the wanderers, who are neither refugees nor Ethiopian, but do not want to go away. They are claiming the right to live anywhere because land belongs to God. The Nuer who think they are Ethiopian are found in Lare and Jikou enjoying the local government. The wanderers are not accepted at Lare or Jikou. These are the trouble makers who ran away from blood feuds and now want to hide around the Anyuak villages with their guns. Yet they do not stay like people hiding from trouble. They kill the Anyuak because it is a right to live here. They exercise the unlimited rights and there should not be an opposition to it. There is an assumption that some if not all were sleeping cells of recruits of Thwath Pal waiting to strike Gambella when the time arrives.

The highlander government in Addis Ababa did not understand the Nuer before until recently when a plot was uncovered. The Nuer officials in government teamed up with the Thwath Pal rebel movement. The Thwath Pal movement was known to exist with the Oromos. But it was a surprise to the Ethiopian government to catch the salaried Nuer officials in this mess. However, now the lingering Nuer are being driven out of Gambella and other Anyuak villages. Even in this process three Anyuak were killed and one highlander was killed as a reaction to the limitation of rights. This adds to the rapport of the already bad attitude. The Nuer call this removal hatred.

At this time the Nuer in diaspora affected by the removal of families from Gambella are collecting money to help out the situation in Gambella. The most obvious thing to do is to attempt to bribe the highlander officials in order to reverse the removal decision. They want to make use of the corruption. But the highlanders do not want to look foolish again. The Nuer politics sent them to sleep already only to wake up with trouble on hand. However, it is too late for the diaspora to salvage the exercise of unlimited rights.

We have come a long way with ups and downs with the Nuer lust of migration. At this time the execise of unlimited rights is more politicized than wandering for water and grazing. It is an expansion of political domain and influence. For example, the Nuer in the GoSS and GoNU support the Nuer aggression to get the total Anyuak land under their influence for more constituencies. Similarly, the Nuer want to increase numbers in Gambella region to capture the Gambella government. The future holds a lot of things. If the Nuer get hold of total Anyuak land, it will be time to annex the whole territory to Sudan and declare the Nuer empire.

In Gambella it will not be easy since the Anyuak are still in control, even though the highlanders are suspicious. Akobo case is a headache for the Nuer. They thought it was a gone case. To their surprise it is not. They are sleeping with one eye and one ear open. The occupation is not a free ride. It has consequences. What the Nuer want permanently is to see that Akobo is 100% Nuer land. Riek Machar said in 1994 [Simon Mori, Paul Anade Othow] that the Nuer will continue to go to Jor, Tedo and the rest. He badly wanted the Lou support during those tough years of separation with the SPLA. It was a serious thing but also a way to please the Lou to stay with Nasir faction. One wonders if Riek will still say this today while back into the SPLA and enjoying a top seat. The political atmosphere is yet conducive for the Nuer to execise unlimited rights in Akobo. The resistance is on and will continue. The Nuer call this hatred.

One complaint from the Nuer is that the Anyuak want to stay in isolation. This is the language of selfishness. The Murle are intact in Pibor county. Is that isolation? It is that if the Nuer want their rights respected, the Anyuak want theirs respected too. This does not entail wanting to live in isolation. Mixing with the Nuer with their fatal ways is not the way to coexist. If the Nuer have feelings like all others they must vacate the Anyuak villages in Akobo in order for coexistence to take its natural course. Coexistence is a give and take exercise through time. It is not to kill, take and coexist. Some times it is thought good to pester the Nuer the way the Murle do to them. Other say it is not lawful to go out and hunt. This has given the Nuer more latitude to gain against the Anyuak. The Murle may be right. That is why the Nuer have not been able to exercise unlimited rights in their territory.

Coexistence is good. But it must not be rushed with chaos. It has to trickle down through generations for it to end peacefully. We saw the recent explosion in Kenya. It was land that was misappropriated in the long past. The issue kept brooding. At the end it became lethal. The chock sent waves through the young Southern Sudan nation. It is a big worry in relation to the coming census and elections. People will be registered in the wrong place and vote in the wrong place. All that is a time bomb. The GoSS must be ready to account.

The best way forward for the Nuer and the Anyuak is to respect each others’ rights without prejudice. The Nuer in Ethiopia have acquired defined areas. The Nuer in the Sudan have their areas too. The Nuer must live and develop those areas without intimidating neighbors. The Nuer of yesterday must be different from the Nuer of today and of the future. But it seems the Nuer do not want change. They love the name “warriors” when in modern terms it means “savages”. They are always the same; migration, war and death without limitation as a way of real life. The Nuer elites in government and media must be ashamed to see themselves in this picture. If the elites are the same always, who will teach the rest of the populace? Hunting for prestige in dangerous ways must be seen as savage at this time. The prestige in big government posts should suffice. The prestige of having fought the Arabs courageously should add up to more prestige. Life must be seen differently in light of development and civilization. The resent attack of the Nuer at Ulang by the Lou has no meaning. Rustling cattle from friends does not add up to a good prestige. This is the sought of behavior the Anyuak hate of the Nuer. The Nuer elite must stand up like Luke Kuth Dak [Sudan Tribune; Anyuak Media] to challenge the ideology of destruction. The few elites and politicians are destroying the Nuer nation in various ways. The Nuer nation is down because of greed and prestige. A lot of Luke Kuth Daks must change the Nuer attitude.

From the above, it is clear that the Anyuak do not hate the Nuer. They hate the Nuer actions and insensitivity to other peoples’ rights. The Nuer is not the only human with feelings in this world. “Everything belongs to God notion” does not work, at least at this time of civilization and laws. If it worked in the past it must be dead today. The Nuer cattle belong to God but there is an owner for them. Nuer wives belong to God, but there are husbands for them. Yes, everything belongs to God but there are owners for them including land on earth. How much clearer could anybody tell the Nuer?

The Nuer, as all human beings do, must ask for help when they need it. It is possible to create understanding for seasonal watering and grazing among communities that have those resources. Community leaders are very good at doing this arrangement. With the Southern Sudan free today, it is more possible for the government to issue regulations of usage of resources. At the end peaceful coexistence will thrive. Without change of attitude, the tug of war between Nuer and Anyuak and elsewhere in the Sudan, will continue to hamper development.

The GoSS should not turn deaf ears to cries across the land about tribal conflicts. All tribes must be in peace with each other. The GoSS has the responsibility to bring that peace. Clean the house in the Southern Sudan and build peace in it. The constitution is there; land commissions are formed. Why is the GoSS dragging to implement its own laws and causing more wrangling among its own people? Is it impossible for the president to declare to all citizens to go back to their original villages before the war? Refugees are returning in great numbers. The GoSS doesn’t know where to put them. Is that not a source of more trouble?

In conclusion, the Anyuak are good people. They do not hate the Nuer but do not like the Nuer unnecessary violence and lust for land leaving more land behind empty.

        Brothers and sisters,

Please blame Maulana Abel Alier, Kiir’s SPLM appointed NEC chairman for excluding sudanese diaspora in Kenya, Ethiopia, Congo, DRC, CAR, Uganda & the western countries like Australia and Canada. The SPLM is the chairman of the national election in the person of Abel.

This Dinka-Bor elder is killing south sudanese aspirations as he did in 1972. NCP gets a good friend in Abel Alier who will rig the election in NCP ’s favor. Fortunately, there is hope for south sudanese, Abel is not going to alive by the election!! This is because his Dinka-Bor devilish & sinful nature will kill him soon. South sudanese did not die in vain. They died to free themselves from the york of racism and marginalization from fanatic or extremists in Khartoum. Tragically, Abel Alier is busy trying to game with south sudan’s sweat, blood & sacrifices. But Abel’s devilish pursuits and ambitions would not make it to election day.

I was shock when i heard that some of our countries where many of our people resides were excluded in the national registration by the Nec chair person Abel Al hag Alier the former betrayal of south sudan. I as freedom fighter and now residing at the 1/1/1956 borderline with the jalaba don’t welcome this registration unless Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Congo,Central Africa,Australia and New zealland included in the registration otherwise! the election is going to be performed in the north with their moslimbrotherhoods in the middle east and let us as South Sudanese people wait for our full independent, Even South Sudanese politician don’t recognized the tricks unless alert by their army? bullshit! these politicians are sleeping we don’t need any polician that let us down again here in south sudan. though these politician comply with the Arabs, we as the new generation we will never and never give up with these stupid minority arab in sudan.I welcome the statement made by president Kiir though it originats from our late beloved hero president Garang, i don’t want to vote for unity inorder to become the second class citizen in my own country,i bet to secced to enjoy full democracy, there will never be real democracy in Sudan unless this verbal democracy that comes from this Arab.Dear brothers lets not give them a room again!

          Thieleling.

I just disagree with you about your baseless statement which including Southern Sudan who are abroad of the none Africa Countries and even within Africa. The GOSS was supposedly to bring Southern Sudanese Refugees in to Southern Sudan for readiness to start in election if they were prepared and knowing this election and referendum are important in this short time we have it.

Now if we says that, we need to including all these Countries out sider which you have mentions early then, how do we know exactly who is real Southern Sudanese will vote out Omar al Bashir.? Just put in mind that, Arab people are very intelligence ways of buying people with money and this is why Southern Sudanese are denying their own mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and some of them are still defending that criminal Hassan Omar al Bashir otherwise, we should have all Southern Sudanese and others Black none Arab to says, this time NO Omar al Bashir, NO Arab to rule us, No Islamic Sharia law in the Sudan government and No any National Congress member to be accepted in the New Sudan government, but look Riak Gai is very strongly against his own Southern Sudanese liberty and it is because of money that can talk, Arab gave him million oil dollars in order for him to deny the rights of his people who were been suffering in mant decades.

To add my view according to what I think Mr, Oyai Deng Ajak the Regional cooperation minister in GOSS, he need to be careful these Countries particular, when mentions Kuwait, United Arab Emirate, Saudi Arabi Kindom, Qatar, Oman Bahrain and many more we have no population in Middle East nation but Yes, there are few Southern Sudanese people living in Saudi Arabia, but I am not sure why he mention others who have no Southern Sudanese living in there, if general Oyai Deng Ajak was talking about Southern Sudan Regional level then, I don’t think we have many people in Middle East nation any way.

The SPLM in GOSS, I think they were suppoed to have a budgets in two years for Southern Sudanese in either Khartoum Camp or Northern Sudan in general, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Congo and Democartic of Republican of Congo. But we never hear any statement the GOSS brought out about such a hopeful Ideas that it could help Southern Sudanese Refugees to be returns all in to Southern Sudan land unfortunately, there are hundred of thousand if not 5 million of Southern Sudanese living in every where in the world especially, in Africa Countries and I think the faifure eventual goes to Southern Sudan’s government.

In the end, I belief Southern Sudan has a 100% chance in Sudan to take that, leadership if all those Sudanese suffering under the ruler and Military dictatorship government cooperates in one thing at one time and to make challenge these Sudanese dominators in any where at any place in any time time, I think the National Congress Party for killer innocents will have only 20% chance to lead again Sudan nation otherwise, the SPLM Party should have been the only Major Party in Sudan since the killer Omar al Bashir has got indictment. I belief also there is no one in Southern Sudan who is more skeptical than, myself about the Sudan general election why, because since the Sudan independence in 1956, Sudan has no good government system in the world and for that matter I will not put hope in Sudan general election however, I have a little a bit hope for Southern Sudan independent that could real draw my attention in short period to come.

Jonglei-Bor Woes aren’t the making of its neighbors

        BY: Isaiah Abraham, JUBA

NOV 5/2009, SSN; I hear some people blaming loudly the government of Southern Sudan leader and the JongleI State Governor for failing to protect civilians there from its neighbors- areas surrounding Jonglei-Bor. Insecurity has become an issue in that state, especially within Bor Area. People are killed and their properties looted at gun points. Government stations are under attacks from unknown gunmen roaming the area.

Generally, the security for the larger South is very poor indeed than it has been during the war. Innocent lives are lost everyday by those who want to get rich quickly or on sheer hate for others. But even if the fingers are still being pointed to Juba for its decimal role to curb insecurity and to protect lives of its citizens, the matter in Bor is primarily something to do with some elements within that community; criminals who are out to deny our people peace they badly need.

We have heard unprecedented lost of lives in Wernyol and Duk few months ago, just to cite few examples. We had then searched for answers and only end up assigning blame to our government for failing to protect innocent civilians. We might be wrong or right, but perhaps somewhere in between.

May be the cause-effect law could have helped out, if we mean really business. And delving further here, there is no way anyone can laugh over that heinous act of taking away lives in the aforesaid two areas of Bor. It stands condemned and an act of evil. Southerners can’t be allowed to be killed just like that, it’s pointless and a shame on all of us. This is particularly so when we need each other most and when in fact we are already masters of our own affairs.

But take the incident in Wernyol for example, do you read anything behind it, the same way I have come to deduce? If not, then look at this: an incident happened at the same spot barely a week or so, before the violent attack at that Payam headquarters occurred. Uror County Cashier left Bor town with big money on his bag, routing on his way back to Uror County headquarters; he was mugged and he lost everything including the money for the entire staff there. The attackers remain at large despite some wind that they actually come from one of the Bor geographical area. Simply put, their whereabout was exposed but hushed by local leaders/authorities.

Could that be the cause that brought about those deaths and destruction, and if the answer again is no, then someone must go on a research and find out the whole truth on what actually prompted that attack when the cattle camp wasn’t around and nothing special could be the target for the criminals who attacked that Payam.

The same scenario is true in Duk. It was again an attack on the car carrying Uror passengers, they were violently looted and their belongings taken away before the nose of the government security officers. No action was taken and the attackers weren’t apprehended. In the absence of law enforcers, the aggrieved took the law into their own hands and the vicious cycle of reprisal attacks we are hearing now daily ensued.

These are two wrongs and therefore unwarranted to write a blame on Mr. President on this matter in Jonglei. Something is clearly wrong there; attitudes and values are in the deficit, just to not to waste your time. This is not what our fathers said about Bor community; they were known to be competitive and achievement-oriented people. Albeit, the today’s generation (below my age I suppose) everywhere in the entire South is a drip of moral decay and effrontery talents that drags to the edge of abyss.

It is indeed very unfortunate to every aspect of our lives; it requires elders to sit down and do something about it and even ask for divine intervention. We have an invidious generation of boys, with older people sidelined. Southerner below 30 years then could not stand the words of any other older than him/her, leaving his older one in the family; this has fairly changed, thanks to crop of young ones whose social reverse is their papers and guns in their hands. They say they know it all and can do it again all. What a shallow foundation we are building!

Imagine a couple of nights ago, a criminal from Bor was caught selling two little kids to Murle at the Juba Bridge Junction. The kids were returned to their parents in the same area, where that human trader comes from. What do you say is happening in that society, brethren?

There are stories that you don’t need to hear, including the razing down of Mundari homestead and total scorched earth clearance of the Mundari people on the East of the River Nile. Of course Mundari were wrong by attacking cattle herders, but the disproportionate use of force with an intention to wipe out the Mundari altogether was uncalled for and totally unacceptable. The two communities lived side by side for time immemorial and even Lou Nuer and Bor are cousins. They have the same characteristics and shared similar values. But first reacts only when it is aggressed and doesn’t engage in clandestine cowardly activities.

Someone has exaggeratedly joked by telling me that 40% of Southern internal problems are caused by elements within Dinka community with a big fraction from Bor people. I didn’t buy it because a land that has produced big figures such as the two Garangs (the bishop and the de Mabior) and Mulana Alier surely can’t be mistaken to have characters that secretly steal innocent children from one village and sell them across to neighbors under the disguise of being abducted ones.

Sincerely, it is puzzling, for a land so rich with potentials such as oil, animals and enough land for agriculture, and human talents. Unbelievable stories; what a pity! Where are the community leaders, the very people our elders used to tell us about their positive things; the same people who claim to be on top of things? If they can’t control their dirty emotions/affairs, how would they expect others to take them serious?

I thought the Good Book , Matthews 7:3 talks about the need to check yourself before you correct others. What makes this community so small in the eyes of criminals that they can reign on them, we whisper. Was it by mistake that Dr. Garang was born there? Really, you can’t expect others to lie low in the flying face of moral decadence in that community.

Bor people, can you now deny that you are the problem, not your neighbors? People deserted you for a cause and will do the same as they inveigh in disgust on every move you will make.

It’s neighbors have joined the bandwagon and if anything, the change everyone wants to happen must begin in Bor. That land should have been an oasis of peace and love, not the other way round. There is no way Bor should be a pariah among many other communities in our beloved land called Southern Sudan. It’s just good! It has to have at least one or two good neighbors.

We have opened up for/against you because people love you and want you to change. The South is abound with wealth everywhere, one section of our society can’t dream of running faster than others.

People of Bor and by extension those who taint the name of Dinka, I have bad news for you: other Southerners will continue to hate you and God above will send troubles ahead of you wherever you will be! You will not escape unless you beat a 360 degree turn (change) of heart; you are animals who will never learn from your mistakes. None could stand such hallowedness anymore.

The Nuer you think is violent and knows no laws is a million miles ahead of you, they have the fear of what is unethical and wrong and are men indeed. Just live among them and try by yourself how humane and gentlemanly are they. On the contrary, you don’t even have a single alien that is absorbed from anywhere, the same way others have done it, find out, why. By association therefore, I hate you ya mujerimiin of Bor and haramiin of Bahr El Ghazal!!!

          Listen to this:

A Nuer was in an airplane.

ANYUAKLAND: Nasir, Jingmiir, Wanding, Maker,Burebei, Adura, Malual, Jekou, Bilpam, Mading, Achua/Itang all the way up to Gambella town itself along the Baro/Sobat river have joined the mainland, the Nuerland some of them without fire a bullet. But along the Akobo and Gilo river, Akobo, Tedo, Jor, Gog and many other villages have joined the mainland, which is Nuerland.

BURUNLAND: Maban, Dajo, Kikgile, Pagak, Maiwut, Gnuankey plus many other villages have joined the mainland, the Nuerland some without a single fight.

COWARD JAANG/SLAVELAND: Mayom, Fangak, Ayod, Waat, Urol, Ulang, Yom, and other countless town/villages have joined the Nuerland.

Therefore, it’s Mighty Nuer Warriors willing not to declare Nuer "EMPIRE" from Biamnom/Ruweng to Gambella/Tieregak and from Renk to Mading Bor.

I am sorry to read all these tribolistic staff, this is an indication and justification of the Arab claims that Southerners are too primitive and not capable of ruling themselves.

perpetrating hatred by insulting other tribes while praising your own puts you over 100 years behind the current state of affairs in the modern world where we are heading towards globalisation. I am once again sorry that some of you are schooled but not educated, you should be casting different image than what has dogged your tribes as an educated person. look! violence of any kind is wild, primitive, backward and it shows your community is uncivilized.

Let us focus on the topical issue at hand and devulge from tribal discourse, it won’t help us, whether we like it or not, we shall, we must stay together for God has destined it that way.

Once again lets decease from Tribal loyalties and call our selves Southern Sudanese. It will be a great strength my brothers and sisters if the GOSS make asking of tribe other than being a southern Sudanese Criminal.

That is why people from America call themselves Americans, Australians, Germons etc. this bring them together and put the best people to serve the community at where they are best trained which explains why they have developed to where they are.

Many of those who live abroad were excluded by the NEC rules and procedures that was intentionlly masterminded by the NCP to increase the possibility of president Bashir re-election. The law allows only those who hold vaild passports and residency in the host countries excluing by that those who were displaced by the war in Egypt, Libya, Kenya, Uganda...ect, most of these citizens have expired passports and residency because they were trying to immigrate through the UNHRC, they are not supporters of the government gaven their long opposition to the NCP policies. The exclusion is a calculated effort to disfranchise them, a step to rig election in its early stage.

The only smarter partner of ARABS is bollets, and GEORGE BUSH and his dad. None of you motherfucker will ever win shit from this well organize group of killer, we talk of negotiation but that is not the only way. The only negotion on this will be war, and mark my word my triblistic commentators. So if you are dreaming for SOUTHERN SUDAN independence you need a big scar on your head, it wont be easy thatz why JOHN GARANG join NDA and form allies within enemy and that the only way we survive the war all this times. But we were talking of SOUTHERN SUDAN independency in those days like GAI TUT and them. Brothers and sistas there will never be hope or independency of no shit. Allies made any war easy and beleive me all most 70% of whole SUDAN is muslim tell me how in the world would we win that if they are calling it a war on religion? When are we going to get it: This election is for the Arabs and muslims. So, I’d suggest that we shut up. Let’s wait and vote for Free South Sudan.

I for once would’t vote in this election. How come all living in W. Europe should go to Belgium?! Are all Northerners going to vote only in Khartoum?

We the South Sudanese have to stop acting the way we are now. The talk about the number of the countries that will participate in the upcoming elections (April 2010 and January 2011) should not start now but year(s) ago. How can SPLM and GoSS be suprised by the look of the list of the countries that will participate in April 2010 election now (5 Nov.)? what was the plan in place for this?

Also SPLM chapters leaders in foreign countries like Canada, New Zealand, Australia, USA, Europe and other place write trylessly asking the SPLM Secretary General and Foreign secretary of GOSS to act on OUT OF COUNTRY VOTING PROCESS but no concrete action has ever been taken both sectors of the GOSS, sometime not even responding to their letters. What does one can expect from NCP if we don’t act? asking UN to help process out of country vote process for majority in exile South Sudanese? I don’t thing so.

We should not be naeive and young to miss such kind of simple games of political world and hold ministrial poses. It is shame on those guys who missed what they should have done a year ago and go on media now angery of NCP action. It is a game. The NCP has done its homework. Why not you? imagine Deng Alor and Abiel Alier are Southerners who are the heads of Foreign minister and NEC(Nation Electrol Commission) respectively and the NCP has done that in their watches but we are not keen to let them know that they let us down with SG and mainister of Regional Cooperation. I sometime force myself to appreciate people but this is not the right time for that.

We should not have Dr. Riek negotiate the CPA, and play the trick of the day for election processes at the same time or bring Dr. Garang from death so that he can help us do this elementary things for us.

I am really angery at the goverment of the day in the Southern Sudan for missing lot of simple things and rather try to undermine thier achievements for personal differencies. Thanks Kirr of ordering MPs to their constituencies and mobilise the people they claim to represent, though some of them may not be recognised because they never been to their consitituencies since the time they were appointed MPs.

Sorry for hurting feelings and thoughts of people in the Governemnt Departments I mentioned but missing South Sudaneese votes in African countries and in the other major western countries like Austrialia, New Zealand, Canada, and others including some states in the USA is unforgiven weaknesses!!!

The names of registers since 2008 can be collected now from some departments like Mayors,Commissioners etc.

We would remind electoral committee to extend the counting of people in Australia who are about 750,000 .

Please untie them some of them will like unity of Sudan while some don’t.

Therefore you have to regard their inclusion.
