The Failure of SPLM-DC Convention- Part II

By Luk Kuth Dak

September 18, 2009 — Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said: “In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

As optimistic as I am, I have high hopes that there will come a time when South Sudanese people will get fed up with some of their double agent sons and simply walk away from the “ Jallaba Southern golden boys”; once and for all.

When I think of National Islamic Front’s atrocities and genocidal activities in South Sudan, Darfur, the Nuba Mountains, and the Angasna Hills, I feel terribly saden and regretful for people like Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin, Mr. Ali Tamim Fartak and Mr. Riek Gai Kok: How heartless can they possibly be to be in alliance with an extremist Islamic terrorist organization with so much blood in its hands? And why would they turn their backs to our mothers and fathers, who continue to suffer their losses on a daily bases? And don’t they know that time alone doesn’t heal those wounds?

In my first article, about the miserable failure of the so-called SPLM-DC Khartoum’s convention, I have mentioned that there were a host of reasons that led to the disastrous breakdown of one of the richest conventions.

But there was one thing that stood out to just about all those who took the time to follow the convention closely. It was the lavish expenditure and the breath-taking style in which the convention was played out and produced, which was indicative to everyone that some serious amounts of money must have been used, by a party that has just been founded. Now, if that doesn’t raise eyebrows, then, I do not know what else would.

Moreover, the unprecedented presence of the NIF/ NCP high profiled elements, including their Southern sell-outs (mentioned above), and the heavy representation of some Arab states, notoriously known for their uncontrollable and compulsive hatred particularly for the South Sudanese people, and all the black people in general, confirmed what South Sudanese all along have been ambivalent and wary about– because SPLM-DC is in fact a carbon copy of NCP/INF organizations.

And yes, it was self evidence that as many as 80% of the participants were from those odious adversaries. The 20 percent remainder came from some flunkies lunatics from South Sudan, and the army of INF media and security personnel.

The genuine question is: was there anything beneficiary to South Sudan out of the convention? The answer is quite merely no. What we saw was cowardice, unfaithfulness and self-indulgence; which bring us to the speech of Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin, the Chairman of the SPLM-DC.

Flanked by the foes of the SPLM from North Sudan and Arab states, Dr. Akol dedicated 99 percent of his speech to vehemently and passionately lash out on his former party the SPLM. He angrily attacked the 1st Vice President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Secretary General Pagan Amum and his deputy Yasir Arman in person. He bluntly put it, “The SPLM leadership is corrupt and we will expose their secrets to the world, he said.”

Ironically, nowhere in his lengthy speech, not one time, that Dr. Lam mentioned the NIF/NCP’s violations of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA). Indeed, that was particularly disturbing while the whole world knows that the NCP is diligently asserting all its efforts to impede the CPA, which Dr. Lam purportedly claims he defected to protect.

In addition, Dr. Lam Akol simultaneous visits to Syria widely open the door for a whole host of speculations, interpretations, and more questions than answers. Already, some experienced Southern politicians are saying that if in fact Dr. Lam defection from the SPLM was due to lack of democracy and transparency, then the most logical thing for him to do should have been to visit democratic countries, not a brutal totalitarian Syria, which harbors the most dangerous terrorist organization such as: Hezbollah, Hamas, and al Qaida.

However, others dismissed the idea that he might be soliciting financial support from the Ba’ath government for his party, simply because Syria is not short of economic problems of its own, to be in a position to support Dr. Lam’s party.

But then, why is he so fond of visiting Syria with only a month since his first visit, and right after the convention of his party, in which he announced to the world that his party is a national one seeking to reserve the unity of Sudan? And what can he possibly emulate from one of the worst regimes in modern history?

These are legitimate questions. We are waiting for answers.

In conclusion, the SPLM must not be unmindful of the fact that Dr. Lam Akol is so desperate for power to the point that he won’t hesitate to cause some great harm on the South, if it serves his egocentric interests. Therefore, we shouldn’t be naïve not to believe that weapons and terrorist experts from Syria and Iran might be well on the way for a “Jihad” war in South Sudan soil.

Quite honestly, I forewarned our leaders that “protection’s better than cure”.

    To Luk Kuth Dak:
Luk, I tried to understand what you intend to address in your void article, but I found nothing relating to the NDC of SPLM-DC.
You said Dr. Lam shouldn’t allied with NCP.
You are completely wrong. If you are write, then answer the following questions.
If Salva Kiir first Vic-president to Basheir? If yes then how could you describe their relationship and decision taking?

Does Salva Kiir share the same office with Bashier and is Deng Alor the Sudanese foreign minister surrounded by NCP officials?
Who is ruling now in Blue Nile, not Malik Agar and those in Red Sea and Nubian mountain and are they not SPLM members and on which base they were allowed to rule in Northern parts?
Let me help you to understand that there was a period where NCP and SPLM were enemies and that was the time of war.
But there is a time where both parties become partners and this is a peaceful time after the signature of the CPA.

Now you criticized Dr. Lam Akol’s visit Syria. But any party has legitemate right to establish diplomatic relationhip with any state. Therefore, you are wasting your time to discuss such relationship here.
You said some money were used on convention. I do not see any problem here because Dr. Lam Akol is not Salva Kiir who is responsible fot Southern budget. They money he might have is donation from friends and countries who are please with his programs. It is better if we talk about southern money being divided by Kiir and his group in South.

    TO Luk Kuth:

You know Mr Luk kuth, you are really new politician or a person who seeking position in the SPLM party. Let me ask you this question and you should answer me. Do you believe that Dr Salva Kiir and Deng Alor take their launch to gather everyday with Omar and his dupity? And see each other and working together since CPA? Kiir is the one who spend campaigning time ,but now he rejected to be the candidate. Iam shameful for that. Accusation to SPLM-DC will not help you and SPLM party to solve the problems of South. We as Southerns would been talking about why our president refuse to be nominated as party candidate? So please comrade, SPLM-DC is operating according the Sudan’s law until until 2011. Oyia Deng Ajaak is also good to be a candidate if SPLM wants good future for southerns.

I am sorry to say that the dull and drunkard journalist who wrote the above article is a poor Sudanese refugee who has been forced to claim knowing what he does not know at all about the savvy politician, Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin. Luk Dak Kuth is set to do his flunky job as usual, simply because he is indoctrinated and bribed with a bottle of whiskey by his mentors who are not willing to accept the new reality of genuine democratic change that has been courageously send out by Dr. Lam and his team, especially the bright youth and women who are determined to change the bad status quo for the better.

Without a regret to say it, Luk has a very narrow minded approach to learn new politics and adapt to the new understanding of SPLM-NCP relationships in the CPA era. He and his mentors have been confusing themselves and public by mixing between the past and the present and also between personalities and institutions in the Sudan. Their falsification propaganda against the SPLM-DC and Dr. Lam will disappear in near future because the age of lies and mediocrity is very short. They think Dr. Lam is the only Southerner who lives in Khartoum and who visits the Arab countries. Where are the big Amarat (storey buildings) where Salva Kiir, Pagan Amum, Deng Alor and others live now? Are they not in Khartoum? Where is the big Amara of the HQs of SPLM? Is it not in Khartoum rather than Juba? Where is Egypt, Lybia and United Arab Emirates, are they Arab Countries which have been visited by the SPLM leaders and Luk’s mentors?

Why do Luk and his SPLM mentors want to dictate foreign visits of Dr. Lam when it is known that some American politicians have been visiting Syria on constant basis? Does the SPLM-DC and Dr. Lam question the visits of Luk’s masters to USA or anywhere in the World? Please Luk, stop being dull in your articles. Don’t prove yourself a fake journalist!

I think it is the freedom of every leader of an independent political party to visit and befriend whichever country and whoever politician he want to. The Syrian president is a human being not a devil to be un-visitable and untouchable by Dr. Lam. It is always wise to talk and dialogue with any human being in any corner of the world. President Brack Obama is very good in this. This is wisdom because he believes that what can make the world safe is friendship and continuous dialogue not enmities.

No doubt, Mr. dull Luk Dak Kuth has fallen into the pit of the propagandist pity of regarding Khartoum and the NCP as the enemy rather than the partner of the SPLM in the era of the CPA. The NCP was an enemy of the SPLM/A before the CPA was signed. After the CPA was signed the NCP became a partner of the SPLM in the government (be it in Khartoum, Juba or any capital of the 25 states of the Sudan). To say that Khartoum is an enemy to Juba is unconstitutional as far as the interim constitution that guide the current government in the Sudan (with all its levels) is concerned. Luk must liberate his mind from this wrong conception because this has been the mother of many confusions and complexities that befallen the SPLM and SPLA, hitherto.

The Failure of SPLM-DC Convention- Part II
Commenting on the reflections cited on the web ,I would like thanks Mr. Luk Kouth Dark for his comments on the failure of SPLM –DC, and my thanks extend to Mr.: Adwok Nyaba the author of“ the Inside`s View that the only solution to problem is Separation“ though I never read his book.
First of all let me define what is meant by southern Sudan, my working definition is: Southern Sudan includes the following areas : 1. Ten States of what is currently known as southern states.(Three states of the great Upper Nile, three States of Equatoria, and Four states of Bahr el Qazal)
    2. Southern Blue Nile (Angasana Hills)
    3. Southern Kordofan (Nuba Mountains)

To prove the above mention read the Southern Policy (1930 the British Civil Secretary in Khartoum declared the “ Southern policy“).due to their cultural, and religious differences addition to Historical exploitation of the north to the south. (Siyasat al Manatheq al Magfulla or Policy of closed areas (Southern Sudan, Southern Blue Nile, and Nuba Mountains)
Between 1946 and 1947 British and Northern Politian’s decided to merge south and north into single administrative state without Southern Sudanese participation, in other word they were not consulted.
In my opinion the time has come for the southern to boycott the traitors and doubled faces, though I do not want to mention the names of the heartless politicians because they are so many and this paper will not be enough to list their names, secondly, because they are protected by their tribes. Thirdly, I am sick of mentioning their names and deeds.
I absolutely agree with Luk Kouth Dak and it is commonly asserted that Lam`s Party (SPLM –DC) is NIF/NCP`s Branch, and it is funded and sponsored by NIF/ NCP, Arab States and Islamic World.
The wealth and power blind people like him, he can see NIF/NCP atrocities and genocidal activities in Marginalized areas, and he is our Joseph Kony.
His successful SPLM –DC Convention has been funded by NIF/NCP, SPLM-DC has already received the price of joining the alliance with extremists and Terrorists, therefore we should be caution and expect more terror activities, and killings.
Dr Lam is the most corrupt person in southern Sudan, therefore he can`t talk about corruption moreover he has nothing to expose to the world concerning corruption in the South.
The so called SPLM –DC is formed by Bribery and designed by the terrorists to destroy our hopes and our 2011 Referendum, is aimed at total destruction of our Nation. He visits Syria to raise fund and to negotiate the Military issues, maybe he wan Syria and Hezbollah to train his Militia. He received blessing from Al Assad and Nasrulallah. He is aiming to bring al jihad to our soil again.
So what are we suppose to do as Southerners and the Oppressed?
Defection of Dr Lam is an obvious violation of the CPA. How who mandate him to talk about the CPA since he is not longer a member and even his party is not consider as a party in the South.
