SPLM in Yirol East County elects new secretary

By Manyang Mayom

July 22, 2009 (KHARTOUM) — The South Sudan ruling party, Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Lakes state secretariat announced last Monday the election of Yirol East County Secretary Mangar Roric Bai.

Roric Bai, well-known as (Mangar Maker Bai) was elected in Yirol East County to replace the late Michael Ater Deng who was killed in September 2008 in an ambush lay by robbery allegedly claimed to be from Upper Nile state robberies.

Late Ater was shot dead on road to Shambe while he was on SPLM mission. Yirol East county former Commissioner Mr. Santo Abenego Dominic, who had being travelling with Ater, was wounded at his chest

According to state secretary Samuel Mathiang said that there was confusion during the nomination procedures, because the wife of late Michael showed her interest to take-over the position of her husband but the majority of SPLM section rejected her candidacy because she is seen as not qualified to fit in the position of secretariat.

The SPLM constitution allows the party members to elect a new secretary within 30 days after death, eviction or the end of mandate of the former but Yirol East delayed the election after the emergence of more differences within the SPLM members in the county.

Lakes state SPLM secretary Mr. Samuel Mathiang Keer attended the election.

Congratulation to Mr. Mangar Rorich for his victory as SPLM secrtay for Yirol East County, take up your new task in this critical period and we want you to fulfil the big shoes of the late Ater Deng, we don’t want politics of disunity, tribalism, corruption, laziness and lack of organization. my question to SPLM Lakes State Scretariat is; what are the criteria & credibilty of that election?

the position of SPLM secretary of Yirol east county should be given to widow of late Ater Maciek to encourage her to nurse orphans who their father got killed on duty of SPLM party .

I do not know why people denied her right to take over her husband position since we all know that qualifications not barrel in south Sudan at the moment to deny somebody to take high position in political party or even Government ministerial level. Remember that the man had been awarded of this position also is not in good sharp educationally.

Although, if qualifications became a matter or condition of employment in Yirol east county , than the Yirol east county commissioner himself should be ask to leave the office because he does not has qualifications to rule the county and also he missed leadership characters , his legacy known as talkative, shot sighted and sectionalism . I am in doubt that if Yirol east county commissioner knew that Ramcil is a part of his county due to his shotsightsd .

Hello takpiny, you better shut up and say nothing, don’t ever talk about mabor achol’s name, he is not only known for talkativeness, he is well known for action of good course, security of our people, he can see far than your father who had been in government position for decade but done nothing to either yirol east county nor yirol as a whole. mabor Achol is not qualified enough but he can bring some change to our community if he had a powerful position

you better denounce your uncle’s soon mangar roric because his dad didn’t even invented anything helpful to our society like your dad exception of voilent, hatred, envy and greed against his fellows church’s prests, matrons etc. mixing up politics and religous stuff. can you imagine would he be different from his father? as the saying says’ "like father, like the son". i will stop shot but be careful when you reply this message because i might went deeper if you misinterperate the contents of my comments.

Mr lago , your comments I read some time in this website were meaningful indeed but today you fall out of the ring a little bit man but, I still respect you even though you attacked me for nothing .

Let me make my point clear to you , I was talking about Michael Ater Deng widow to be given chance to take over her late husband position but her willing had been denied by SPLM party members because she is not qualified to fit in , while others illiterate people had been given party high positions in the same county , mean while you talking about different point either , I did not talked about manger Roric, if you have something to say about him, it is up to you .and bear in your mind that , I am here to tell the truth I am not with any group as you guys group yourselves there but I am group for myself. Also let me tell you this Mabor Achol is a leader. And leader is target to be praise as you did also is target to be blame about what is going wrong during his/her team in office. So I will be back to praise Mabor if he performing well in his dutise but at the moment he is not doing enough to praise him . I am sorry…Mr Lago

i’m sorry takpiny, i just felt little bit bitter of your comments by terming mabor achol as known for nothing much but takative. all others comments you contributed about mangar roric and late Mr Deng’s wife were meaningful and i couldn’t added other than that.

politicians or anyone acting in a position of any kind of leadership are meant to be tested in both physically and mentally, challenge them to see how they would stand high in control, this would give them pressure to perfom at peak, they may feel that they are being watched by the community hence they may work accordingly for the welbeing of our community which is now a victim of political fraud, unrest murder, rape, looting, famine and poor water, foot sanitations etc.

remember i’m not friend with those who are fond of self promotion, selfish, tribalist, sectionist, covering of existing facts; i stand for truth and belief on truth, faithful or fair actions, that is what i’m.

otherwise i’m sorry for direct attacked.
