July 7, 2009 (EL-FASHER) — The joint African Union and United Nations mission in Darfur says one of its peacekeepers, police adviser died today.
"A Police Adviser serving with the AU-UN Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) died earlier today, following a short illness," the mission said on Tuesday.
The Officer arrived in Darfur on 17 May and was deployed in Tawilla town in North Darfur.
The mission did not disclose the identity of the police adviser or his illness.
