Sudan’s Kiir rejects census results, warns of CPA collapse

May 19, 2009 (KHARTOUM) – The Sudanese First Vice President Salva Kiir and the president of semi-autonomous South Sudan said he is unhappy with the results of the census conducted last year and called for it to be excluded from wealth and power sharing formulas.

Kiir speaking to the Southern Sudan Sultans conference in Bentiu the capital of Unity State said he is “unhappy and unsatisfied with the census results”.

The fifth Sudan Population and Housing Census, conducted from April 22 to May 6, 2008 is considered crucial in the implementation of the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).

The census will help decide how wealth and power are ought to be shared in Sudan.

But the SPLM chairman called not to link the census results to the elections and not to use it for wealth and power sharing. He also urged to revert back to the old constituency system in the elections to avoid controversy.

The census results are due to be released next Thursday but unofficial results show that the population of Khartoum topped 5 million; Darfur 7.5 million and South Sudan 8.2 million.

Furthermore, the number of displaced Southerners in North Sudan has been reported as 500,000 which has been deemed as understated by Southern officials according to the report.

Kiir ruled out any return to war adding that any further dispute would be to implement the CPA but accused unspecified parties of seeking the demise of the peace agreement.

On the elections the First Vice president said that the security situation in the South prevent the conducting of elections in February 2010 but expressed confidence that they can resolve the conflicts that erupt toward the election and referendum dates.

He called on the Sultans to ensure the disarmament of citizens saying again that some parties want to the South to appear “failed” by undermining stability and security.

Kiir said he is determined to “refute lies and rumors” through development and services.

The National Congress Party (NCP) official Ibrahim Ghandour responded quickly to Kiir saying that the election law has determined that constituencies will be based on population.

He further said that the census in the South was conducted by Southerners themselves adding that any complaints on census should be based “convincing reasons” not political ones.

The SPLM chairman also acknowledged financial difficulties and urged to pursue other sources of revenue.

Southern officials have warned that drop in oil revenue proceeds shared with the North is posing real threat to stability of the region socially and economically.

Exactly mr president kiir, those census results have to be rejected outright.
They must not be included in the power and wealth sharing agreement as they would disadvantage we the Southerners.

    Keep speaking up Kiir!

If Mr. vice President Kiir warns of CPA collapse, he knows what he is talking bout; because he has been there enough to know Khartoum inside out.

Any census in any way shape or form that shows the Southern population as less than the Northern is completely bogus.

If you asked any body in any of the Countries in Africa to guess the population of dark skin Southerner and dark brown skin Northern Sudanese, he or she would say with no hesitation that there are more Southerners than Northerners.

Vice president Kiir is a fearless leader he will say no to anything that is not true against Southern interest.
We wish you well for your leadership.

What a confused leader Kiir is. May Mightly God help our people navigate their way out of this mess. Kiir you have proven once and for all that you are not a man of your words. Nonetheless, you have proven beyond any reasonable doubt that you are vissionless, naive, and a leader who does not stand for any thing. What outrages me is that president Kiir is the one order the census count to go ahead even though the council of ministers voiced the objection to such process.

We all remember how he initially objected to such process until he met with Al-bashier. Not to mention how he crisscrossed the nation, south, voicing his disagreement to the way by which the census count was conduct. At the same time he threatened to reject any result that will give a south a figure less than 1/3 of the total population. But, instead of voicing his disapproval to the result of the census during the presidency meeting, he chose not to man up. To make a matter worst, he signed it as he was forced to do so. To make it short, I want to tell you that it will be a matter of a time before he change his stand again and agree to whatever figure that is going to be release. Do you guys know why the results of the census were not released to the media immediately after being signed by Al-basheir and his two deputies? Is because NCP wants to cook the result’s figures more so that they favor them in next general election. They probably know that they will get away with it because Kiir has signed the the census report without knowing the actual figures. So do not be surprise when he does so.

Yes Marko, most of our southern leaders are unfortunately weak in front of northern leaders, it is not just Mr.Kiir alone!! but the worst is that it is now becoming a part of Mr. Kiir’ lifestyle, not to speak his mind in front of Mr. Al-basheir.

Your commnet makes a lot of sense, no matter what your intention is, Mr. Kiir and his vice Dr. Riek have to be men enough to stand up for the right of the southern people otherwise they must consider stepping down from leadership as the way out to their mess in southern Sudan.

Otuho Community Association (OCA) the supreme body which represents the views, philosophy and thinking of Otuho as a people, noted with immense bewilderment and revulsion on the recent results of the 5th Sudan Population and Housing Census conducted in April 2008 which puts the Eastern Equatoria State Population at 906,126 while that of Torit County at 99,740.

      1. The 5th Sudan Population and Housing Census never reckons the previous population statistics quoted from various baseline sources like State Strategic Plan which puts EES population at approximately 1,550,000, (source EES Strategic Plan 2005 - 2006). SRRC needs assessment puts the beneficiaries of humanitarian support for Torit County at 673,371 (source SRRC 2006). The 1956 1st population census; although taken from a small section of the population, placed the population of Otuho people alone at 230,000 (source 1956 partial census results). The Colonial Administration in the 40s indicated Otuho population at 357,000 which after 50 years must have gone above a million (war must not be an excuse).

      2. In its Emergency meeting of 9th May 2009, OCA deliberated on the result of the 5th Sudan Population and Housing Census conducted in April 2008. The OCA members resolved to reject the result of the census outright, terming it as politically motivated fiasco, overloaded with ethnic bias, out of touch with Otuho high birth rate, shamelessly corrupt to suit a political utopia.

      3. OCA stands with resolute to support the Able Leadership of General Salva Kiir Mayardit the President of South Sudan for rejecting the result of the 5th Sudan Population and Housing Census conducted in April 2008. Secondly OCA follows our President and demands the disqualification of the 5th Sudan Population and Housing Census results as null and void. Thirdly OCA demands the Head of Southern Sudan Commission for Census, Statistics and Evaluation (SSCCSE) to be charged for mismanagement of the 5th Sudan Population and Housing Census in Southern Sudan. Fourthly, OCA demands a rerun of the 5th Sudan Population and Housing Census in Southern Sudan, Eastern Equatoria State and Torit County at this point.

1st PV of Sudan, President of GOSS, Chairman and C’der-In chief of SPLM/A would have convinced a lot of people including myself if he did a press conference and tell people his unsatisfaction with Sensus results immediately, either as he got out in that controversial presidential meeting or, at his arrival in Southern Sudan at Juba International Airport.

I wonder how late actions heal the wounds, especially when the other partner is quick in telling misleading statements. Is it because NIF got its Omdurman Racist TV Services? If that’s the case why not ask people in Juba to welcome the president at the airport and the president can address them face-to-face so that people know what he is not happy about?

I think SPLM needs to fix its communication methodology to have people better informed at earlier times.

      Mr. Kiir,

You were the one who gave the fake Census a green light while the other officials like Mr. Chanson Chang rejected it from day one since the ethnicity and religion were not included from the form.

Now, you come out from your hidding and claim that "this Census is not acceptable in the South and will never be used for power sharing and health of the country." No wonder why you always talk in a distance far away from the office of presidency instead of facing Mr. Omar and his gangs in Khartoum?

South Sudan should not be keep hostage by those few unionists within the South for their own self-interests, complain after complain instead of declaring the independence of the South. South Sudan must be a country by all mean necessary regardless of population size.

For your info, I am trying to defend Dr. Riek as he is capable of carying his own cross, I am just telling you ths simple fact that Nuer with their rough faces managed to feed our movement during 80s and 90s and many of them died fighting the common enemy, many Nuer including myself were happy with the idea of change within SPLA, SPLM that our late brother Dr. John Garang used to run as his own property, sending majority of educated southerners to the front lines so that no one would stand aganist his decisions, that is why we ended up losing millions of southern Sudaese just to agree years later on th idea of self-determination through, it stupid isn’t!! I am not looking for a tribal war, but if happen, Nuer will never lose the war, I promise you, but God will not let our country to become another Rowanda!!!!

Hey! Mr.President, it will sound like scoping sugar from the sand at this time since you accept and encourage the census to take place without looking before your leap. You never laid conditions down since you knew lots of thousands of southern sudanese are displace or out of reach within sudan. And you also knew what type of the goverment you are dealing with in Khartuom. All of us know that you were trying to respect what was sign on CPA but hey, you knew the conditions of the census.IT was wealth shared by the no. of people. so that means you knew all about the out come, so why are you rejecting the result when you initiated it by yourself.CPA was made by people and people complex, so does CPA too, soon you will see some new trends of it. SPLM choose to stick with the hope of working out of the GONU on the referrendum day and announcing the independent south which is not going to happened according to the Law of CPA, It has to be decided by people but not few of you in the parliament.

I don’t know who are the advisors but let the truth be said, SPLM has lost lots of trust in the public eyes and right now the feeling of the public is you are nothing but just something standing by the name but not actions. lots of southern sudanese have been frustrated by what they see in an unvisionary leaders in the SPLM. All we see is glutons leaders who are filling their empty stomach with public money, Triblism riping off the vast richness of this nation, fear of brothers turning against each other. We have been deserted by the international community just because of the wrong they see in leadership that can not be addressed. If SPLM go back to war, No body will host or help them.look at how wealthy are the official when four babies can be on one bed at Juba Hospital! what a big amazement! What a shame!

what you ought to do now is restructure yourself by implementing the policies. Stop being fearful of CPA and do something to improve it. take chance and show your ways to public. speak out not only in the south but all over sudan, point out the evil that is existing.Stop fearing NCP and do something! there is no NCP except our own brothers who have been turn against us for lack of know how. Its the battled for the wit now that is important.

sorry I got too much to correct, writing it here could not satisfy me. But hey lets be on a mission with a vision! Do not be a blind leader. do not complain, addressed it immediately or else south is heading toward its doomed days. May God direct us to the safe ways. Amen +

Your are fairly right but not very right to blame President Dr. Kiir for not calling a press conference. In any given system, be it political social, economic or religious, there are defined procedures for having things done. Likewise, the SPLM as a political system does the same. After the presidency meeting, President Kiir rejected the census results and immediately infomed SPLM Secretary General Mr. Pagan Amum to call for an immediate press Conference in Juba as he pursued the slippery Jallaba in Khartoum. All were done.
From this point, it is hard to find a place among the SPLM cadres to accomodate your criticism. You have the feeling nationalism but only that you lack adequate information about the SPLM status on the census results and their moves to counter any anyone who insists on imposing the results.

What is being discussed in this internet forum is the implication of the rejection of census results on the future of the CPA, not what Mr. Kiir is doing, as a Dinka to match your thinking.

Almost all Sudanese people were supporters of SPLM. Millions of Sudanese have received Garang in Khartoum in 2005. It was said that time that if election was conducted, Grang could have had won it hundred per cent.

No doubt that Salva Kiir and his officials have gave back the Sudanese people as gift to NCP. Language use during liberation was "we will emancipate you from Kartoum." But the current language after signature of CPA is," if you are not thief, looter, cheater, nepotist and dictator, you are not with us."
So people delegitimated SPLM/GOSS and that why Kiir knew himself that no one in SPLM could win the election. So going back to war is so simple to keep his position.
Two partners to authority means both SPLM and NCP are responsible to any step being taken.
So where were they when census took place.
Now Salva Kiir is preaching before chiefs in Bentiu that we will go back to war. Go home now to rule your village not state my friend.

For sure, I don’t mind Kiir being my leader at all. Because the government of Kiir has lost the vision completely after the death of Dr. John Garang. So, Kiir should not talk of Sensus alone but there are some other things to be addressed earlier before refrendum, like border demarcation, prevailing corruption in South Sudan and he has also allowed is corrupt cammarads to loot the resources for development in South Sudan.

For these reasons, Kiir must lose his people quickly.

It is good to reject the results of the census because they do not reflect the actual population of South Sudan.
The leadership of the SPLM should have known even before the release of the results that they will not reflect the actual population of the South Sudanese.
This is because the South Sudan Population and housing census commission lacked the capacity to successfully carry out the census and yet they went ahead to do a shoddy work instead of being frank and admit that they would be unable to do it properly.
The commission had employed un educated youths to carry out the census and thus failed in its work.
Surely the problem of South Sudan lies in South Sudan itself.
If the president is disatisfied with the results, then he should hold the chairman of the South Sudan census commission to accout and deal with him accordingly.

But Kiir one thing I don’t understand about you, you are the first vice president, your seat and sub-palace is in Khartoum. Why then do you abundant it and hang around in Juba? Rieck suppose to be the one over seeing Juba, The reason you are offered that seat such that you can monitor closely what GoS is doing toward GoSS and the country as large. Furthermore you were present in the census endorsement panel why don’t you say your No at that time rather than today? Yet talking about war again, whose children are your going to offer there blood again by this time? Unless your own.
I’m sorry with your premature reasonability.

It is good to reject the results but it is better to accept them too. accepting the results is better simply because the census was carried out in the south by the southerners and there were severals setbacks faced during the course.

    1. there were places facing tribal conflicts e.g part of East rumbek where i come from where Nomads were fighting themselves(Athoi and Amonhiim)who are roughly 200,000 people.

    2. in Twic county(warrap state) there was a looting of cattle going within the 22 april 2008 in place call Magook noon by Nuer of Unity state as far as 25 miles where over roughly 8000 people live.

    3. coming back to Rumbek as capital of Lakes state census was not conducted in Akuac and malual Akan residential areas where i could guess another 5000 people.

    4. The census conductors were not qualified enough to carry out this activity from expalining why it is important and how it shall have affected people when its results are. most of these conductors were from primary schools. it could been better hiring secondary school students.

    5. the Rains might have affect some places of interest. take totally warrap, jonglei, upper nile, western bhar gazal, and western equatoria to mention but few. with all the topograhy(terrain and swarmpiness)of the areas do you think this lazy southerners went there to count people. let me give you the refs: Twic county and manyanggok(warrap), Raga(WBG), most of akobo and Nyirol(jonglei), and all parts of upper nile including small towns near Malakal.

    6. Laziness and incompeteness. we southerners are so lazy that when you are told to write 1000 words in your own language, you may decide to pick small and less lettered words which are meanlingless and could not produce good results at all. so is the census.

    7. data entry have hands. omitting large families and typing less ones to save time so that the results come out very fast. a part of laziness inmentioned above.

to compare the censuses conduted in roughly in 1970s my father was doing his third semester in Philosophy(Phd), he had commented that he will never be involved in census until his death because he escape being a lion Dinner in the wilderness of wulu(lakes state)during the night census of that day(partroitism father kept up).

not to be boring census results are good though not soothing enough.

The Fake Census Result Caused by Numerators and Technical Consultants

      By Beny Gideon Mabor

The position of South Sudan and its ruling political forces, the SPLM/A is now clear in its capacity to refuse any foul play surrounding design, data processing and release of the data production such as the present hopeless census result that put South Sudan to 8,263,490 people unacceptable population. However, it was a direct transaction of children playing with fire when very important items of race and ethnicity were not included on the questionnaire to distinguish the tribal and religious background of the Southern Sudanese living in Northern States and particularly Khartoum State that gave raise to its present 5.2 million people and taken as Northerners.

The Khartoum Administration has ever been using South Sudanese population to claim their share of government seats and services at all levels to which these people are not beneficiaries. Is that your interest you Southerners to allow Arabs took advantage of your huge populace to allocate the assembly seats and provision of services by use of lion share with the South while your brothers and sister are poorly represented? Allow me to say enough is enough and right of self determination for the people of Southern Sudan and separation although disputed by some Southern politicians as different processes is undeniable. We must either secede from the north, if too confronting, sorry we must opt for the right of self determination, the language agreed in the CPA/2005, INC/2005 and ICSS/2005 respectively.

With the current census result, it is of course the first time ever in the history of our liberation struggle to involve South Sudanese to count themselves and processed their own data. It took the census officials starting work from morning to midnight only to be surprise with such hopeless result. Nevertheless, do not doubt the data processors but the problem was with the numerators, their supervisors and field officers and finally to the technical consultants in their different capacities, which lead to omissions and commission in defiance to the obligatory national duty entrusted upon them by the Government of Southern Sudan.

On the technical failure of the data processing, the consultants have contributory technical cheating in the provisions of the software program used between the Sudan Central Bureau of Statistic and Southern Sudan Centre for Census, Statistic and Evaluation. I must repeatedly disclose it to the public that the scanning machine installed in Khartoum was set to accept all forms including empty ones or whether dirty without transcription while the same scanning machine installed in Rumbek, South Sudan, now present for confirmation do not accept any empty form or dirty ones. It took the census officials three weeks or so to transcript all dirty questionnaires from Abyei and other Southern States on to new forms for possible scanning and due processing requirements. However, when asked as confirmed from sources why having the same machines but with different operation, hence the consultants admitted that they have forced by Khartoum to have access to the way they want it and deny any consultancy service as only done in the south. The SPLM/A must take this data into consideration and ask the census officials, if doubtful for further evidence

In light of the above reasons, this is beyond reasonable doubt construed as high treasons committed by both enumerators who intentionally left some unused questionnaires during the enumeration exercise and without proper checking by their supervisors and field officers, and further to the technical consultants who brought the same software programs but with different operation between the north and the south. As a breach to the sovereignty and national integrity pertaining to the national census, statistic and survey as stipulated in schedule (A) item 27 of the ICSS/2005 and any other legal instruments enforced, the census contractors as per failed units and the consultants must be professionally held accountable and brought to justice in South Sudan in accordance with the provisions of the Penal Code/2008 and the Code Of Criminal Procedures Act/2008 respectively. This is to avoid any repetition of such waste of resources, energy and time the forfuture census and to only allow those committed under national obligation, sovereignty and integrity of the county to do the next population census of 2018 A.D

      Deal all,

Let me assure you that writing is not just thinking and writing what you decided and speak out. There is what is called the rule of procedure and evidence governing any organizational structure including writing ethic. However, you better pursue these principles through writing research method and other available journalistic instruments in accordance with the provision of the law if you are focusing to become outstanding writer.

The said regulations begin with your language ability, content of your writing and clear introductory background for easy reference, if any, for clarification. What does it mean to nicknamed yourself as Rat Rebites biglogicboy, simple man, Raannath, great thinker, black democrate, network etc…….when you will not be praise to continue or blame to correct it for your contribution to the citizen’s constitutional right to freedom of speech? I have never raise this dialogue pertaining to your professional negligence you have doing since the day one of your media creativity

Back to the census result, it is a national legal issue and has to be taken care by national and professional approach. I request you to refrain from this sensitive point and leave it the people concern that are part and parcel and shall be answerable to any query when the day comes. Please sit down and change all your hidden names and background and clearly speak out your arguments for revolutionary and constructive criticism without fear and hindrance. I face many challenges and strive with goodwill of achieving what was later recognized.

My President (Kiir) do not put us into panic over what was obvious. If some of us were not counted even from Juba, how do you expect counting to be successful from the villages which are even inaccessible moreover during the rainy season? Let us accept failures from our side due to poor planning and Khartoum should not be blamed lest it becomes another vision to blame Khartoum for every failure we make ourselves.

The Arabs have been going to school and planning against us since the 1930’s. Do we have leaders who can plan for Southern Sudan and lay foundation for ages and to leave legacies long after their demise? Do we have technical knowledge to counter the northerners? It was easy to fight in the bush because firing guns was practical save for few sophisticated machines. Now it is an intellectual warfare coupled with sharpness and experience in the government.

Southerners are sure and agree with you that the census was flawed but why did we allow it to go ahead without adequate preparation? We left it for census commission to do the job and failed to mainstream body.

Besides, corruption was used in recruitment process that is why we never had sharp people to do better job for us. Sharpness is part of the game that is why the Arabs trick you to sign and approve the census results. You cannot turn around to say Iam disatisfied and reject these results when you approved it.

I can tell you that there are Sudanese who stayed in East Africa, America and other parts of the world armed with alot of experience in these things. Use them to show Khartoum real braingameplay.

Let us concentrate on the referrendum and surely to avoid further noise and trickery from the north, cessation is a must. Forget about tribal conflicts. We will resolve them even after 100 years but let us be first certain that we do not continue to be vulnerable to the Arabs.

Instead of building schools, health, we are busy looting resources and pleading for unity to be made attractive which in the first place has never been made.Let us not expose our weaknessess by everytime crying. When SPLM pulled out its MPs and Ministers from GoNU in 2007, it worked and this is the way we approach things when dealing with the north.

Everytime there is a problem with the north, we tend to be begging mercy from them because we do not know how to demand it as of right. There are even few people who know how to interpret the CPA in its Letter. In this situation how do you corner your partner when it comes to implementation? Our capacity is weak to challenge the North when it comes to government matters and CPA implementation.

How many southerners rated to the likes of Osman Taha, Naffi Alli and others who can advise our government. You choose presidential advisors with no knowledge on what to advise on aren’t you just playing with the people of Southern Sudan? Take for example Nyandeng on Human Rights when she doesn’t even have a certificate of attendance in Human rights workshop! Doctor Subek to do administrative work as commissioner when he is supposed to be saving lives in the hospital! What a pity on such suicide?

Chiefs do not understand these things, talk to Southern political parties and the people who can give ideas on the way forward.

I am also afraid that you want to become like a traditional conflict chief mediator. Why do you waste much time going to solve these tribal disputes when some of these ministers are busy sleeping and getting monthly salaries for sleeping? Put them to task and let them give youa comprehensive report with way forward. Do not accept reports that do not have action plans and action points to the problemsproblems.

Mr. President you can only be remembered during your term of office if you fight for cessation and succeed.

Good luck mr.President Kiir God will help you.

I know there are a lot of people who are against him, but is not the time to separated from each other. Let us rebuild south Sudan together and stored the lives we lost in the war. MADIT MAJAK, if so called president Salva Kiir is real president of people, we should continue supporting him. But this kind of human has no ear to hear the voices of people and even his supporters like you do not understand pains infliected by his leadership. He does not has heart to show his sympathy to suffering people screaming night and day due to their wounded hearts and bodies. Kiir does not has mind to think well. So how can we keep supporting this incapable leader? This man has taken us back to zero.

His Excellency, Mr. Afawoki, the President of Eretaria, said the VISION OF NEW SUDAN had gone with Dr. John Garang. President Afawiki is 20% right, but he is wrong 80% per cent. Why?
Because Grang was used, directed and lead by the northern opposition during liberation period. The so called NEW SUDAN was suggested by Arab leaders and Northern opposition specially president of Libya Mammar Al Gadafi. They armed Dr. Garang and despatched him to the Bush in South to replace vision of Anya-Anya Two with New Sudan Vision.

Dr. Mansour Khalid, the former advisor to Dr. John Garang was the one who act and speak through Dr. Garang. So president of Eritaria shouldn’t say the vision has gone with Dr. Garang, but it has gone with Dr. Mansour Khalid and Norhtern opposition. As we do not have opposition and Dr. Mansour Khalid in SPLM/GOSS,Therefore, Salva and his officials are idle knowing nothing to do.

My dear, to continue supporting Salva and his men and women, let him listen to the southerners by listening to criticims and advices. Or he has to re-employeed Dr. Mansour Khalid and northern oppositions into SPLM and GOSS into consideration.
Any person must give his/her support to a person who respect your point of view and allow you to take part in public business. I know why you urge us to support him. You want Kiir to remain in useless power so millions of dollar supposed to benefit orphans, veterans, widows and building of South go into your pockets.
Stop urging people to stand against the northerners. Enemy within is so posionious and like internal thief. But external enemy is well known. So our fight must first begin with ourselves as Americans. Stop fooling people about the Northerners since we have dangerous internal northern in South.

HI Mr. William Okuch, I do understand that people of southern Sudan are in big pains, but not because of leadership of president Salva Kiir. is because we just got out of civil war and it will take time that pains we are in will go way. The country that got out of war will took many, many years rebuild the country. Southern Sudan will take 10 to 20 years so that we can stand our feet. The reason why I am supporting this man is because right now our government is very wreck, but if we throw him out of power right now it will not do us no good it will make our government wrecker.

you know that we just got out of civil war and we are still in it right now. we don’t have to think in evil way of bring a new government in.You Said that President Kiir he don’t have ear to hear, heart, and mind but let you know that government cannot be run by president idea alone, but by his followers administration, and publics. I think Kiir is doing his part, but his officials are the people who are failing to do their job.

What Mr. Afawoki said the vision of new Sudan died with Dr.John Garang he is right, but Garang vision is still with in us he didn’t gone with it. the reason why we don’t see it is because we are against each other. we need to stop thinking in the negative way.

Mr William, if you want Kiir to do batter job as you said that he is mislead people why don’t you go over there in south Sudan and tell your story to the people, and to President Kiir himself that he is not doing good, and it will make everything easy with you and for us too because you don’t like the way Kiir run the government. don’t get me wrong I don’t like the way things goes in south sudan either, but I am worries about the future of southern sudanese people what will be like if we are against president Kiir. any way we are trying to find the way how we can solved this crisis in south Sudan.

Madit Majak, I like the way you always try and get people into Mr Kiir’s tank. i wish the man could hire you as his campaign surrogate. Don’t take me wrong i used to be all along at a cross road from being a Kiir’s fun and at times do not like the way he’s handling things. Look !.. what’z wrong with Kiir defenders is in fact they don’t acknowledge mistakes made under his regime to which accepting responsibilities and promise accountabilities is what a big hearted and standing-up president is all about. Then from there start afresh as you do, mentioning reasons to why he must be prez who owe a support from all southerners given the compelling situation we are in right now. But instead those who support him think accepting a single weakness from those obvious mountains of bad dones would amount to a demise of his leadership.A magical thinking or lack of headedness to which the reverse is true.

The problem now is not Kiir but its Kiir esp if those people he has contracted are severely messing up the South into flames daily and he doesn’t have courage to blame them let alone removing them in their respective secretariats and indicted them which is what any pres can do to gain an average citizen’s trust. He simply can not face his appointees for fear of political backclash. This is only whatz lacking of Kiir, not until he realizes this can he be a great liberator or President.

Thank you brother Majack. We must discuss our problem in good faith to find a common front. Our beloved South is greater than a person and tribe. Land was created first by God and than people who live on it, who use it. People come and go but land remains. People work and get frustrated or tired, but land will never give up from providing people with everything they need.
It is our moral resonsibility to give our land what we can in our power rather than taking from that land. Our work is for the land which is for upcoming children.
Kiir is the leader and failure of the administration is failure of president. In democratic world, people criticize the president not ministers.

I call upon Southern Sudanese, one for all, the southern goverment is taliking as if they are prepared for any step they takes, forgetting that they are corrupt, for example,if you people look at the depense they are not longer happy with the goverment that govern them their money has been ending up in their commanders’ pockets while Kiir sit and watch at them and has never paid and single visist to one of the barrack, especially border line,to see what are challengers do the milltary face and the need to be address,What i know is, people should just look where south sudan is going with its greedy goverment. It is really a disater to live since when Kiir mean to say NO he says Yes to the corrupt organs, and without doudt he must be part to it,even his mother children has a right to complaint and Kiir accept the demand, there is a good example when his greedy inlaw cammander Mathok stole the money and try to sumaggle it to be taken to the forign country it was all over the news that money was taken using a defreezer and was cuagt by security that was to preform his duties for his nation. Like when people were appoint the Minister of SPLA affairs people where against the appoint of CDR Kuol Manyang becuase the military salaries will be intact the thieves will not temper with their 40 Perecent but Kiir organisation subotaged for them keep on stilling and give Kiir’s share of being member of thieves,O yeah south need change and something should be done to stop all these problem facing south sudan though it is not natural corruption is just a man made and has to be deal with in proper way of doing thing not just abusing our selves on the Website, southern sudanese have to sit together and resloved their isuues before taking to it the table where every body will look at them and understand the whole country affairs.
Our leaders know how to lead the nation only that they are shock of bulk of money the need get reach beofre thing come to economic system, not knowing that the more are the more have problems.OOH if i may ask when they stop stilling and start looking into the Nation and community affairs.

An arrow shot into the air can not be retrieved before it falls onto the ground. We have sveral reasons to reject these census results and yet another handcartful of the same to accept the results too. The CPA dictates the importance of carrying out national census. We all silently complied, didn’t we? That is why we are now talking about ’the results’ but not the process itself. The die has been cast any it seems that any attempt to eat the vomits can’t help much.

On the other hand, outcome of the census has fallen short of people’s expectation. Just a glance at the huge population of South Sudan, and you begin to doubt whether the results were accurately processed. You also find that we had a good number of fellow compatriats taking refuge abroad when census was carried out. Most of these people have recently been repatiated and there is a kind of good percentage injected into the region now( South Sudan). This warrants a casual complaint from skeptics like myself.

But perhaps something worthwhile has to be done rather than concentrating on outright rejection of the national census results. We should vehemently press for separation of the census outcome from that of national wealth and power sharing. By doing this, we will have saved both time and energy for other use in the development of our young Republic.

Our Dear President is absolutely right to have refuted the results of the Census. "some people say the census was carried out by the Southerners particularly in Southern Sudan" It’s true, but you should consider who finally determines the results?. We should not at this moment criticise our leaders blindly otherwise the journey that they have brought us through was not an easy one. Keep up Mr. President!!.
