August 20, 2008 (ISMAILIA) — Egyptian police shot dead a 27-year-old Sudanese man while he was trying to sneak across the border into Israel. This is second killing during this month.

Since January 2008, Egyptian authorities arrested a587 illegal African migrants attempting to cross border to Israel. 172 were from Sudan and mostly from Darfur troubled region.

The killing of Ibrahim Tayeb Juma, which took place at night on Monday, brings to 20 the number of African migrants killed at the border so far this year.

A police patrol saw the Sudanese man and four other migrants attempting to get through barbed wire on the border and ordered them to stop, opening fire when they failed to do so.

Police arrested two of the migrants, while the remaining two managed to escape towards Egypt.

The Sudanese refugees are seeking asylum away from conflict at home and harsh living conditions in Egypt, where they face economic marginalisation and racism, activists say.

Ain’t nothing so disheartening like getting killed like an animal.

No one to shout on your behave after you are gone...UNJUSTLY.

I tend to think the Egyptian security/Police are enjoying the killing of our own.

It’s seems to me they practice sharp-shooting on our asylum seekers cos I DON’T understand the reason for this killings.

    SO SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!

Killing of a person without investigation done is like killing a pig in a boiling water alife.however, Egyptain police should not pratice thier style of reckless shooting as a puriority of solving problem intead of arresting and detaining them for further investigation such that they would come up with the right punishment.
