“The Office anticipates that it will be able to present a new application under Article 58 of the Statute to the Judges by July 2008” the prosecutor said in his report obtained by Sudan Tribune.

Ocampo said his second investigation expected to be completed next month looks at “who bears the greatest responsibility for past and ongoing crimes against civilians in villages and in camps; who is maintaining Harun in a position to commit crimes; who is instructing him and others”.

Sudan has not ratified the Rome Statue, but the UN Security Council triggered the provisions under the Statue that enables it to refer situations in non-State parties to the world court if it deems that it is a threat to international peace and security.

Perhaps the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Luis Moreno-Ocampo will inform the UN Security Council of the intention to prosecute Brigadier General Muntasir Sabier for crimes against humanity.

Brigadier General Muntasir Sabier is reported to be the commander of Sudan Army Forces brigade 31 who will be held responsible for the recent murders of civilians in Abyei.

Sometimes the name is given in early reports as Brigadier General Muntasir Sabil.

It would be interesting to learn more details of the career of this illustrious soldier.

BREAKING NEWS: ICC prosecutor to charge Sudanese officials with war crimes in July
ICC is making a great job to resue our brothers in Darfur. But when will the ICC capture Kony of Uganda? Why do the ICC keeps on increasing the list of wanted men without action? I doubts this move as it will not help Darfur sooner as expected.

    Thanks for the good job.
