Position Paper on Darfur for the International
Hearings

March 22, 2007 — The most miserable war in the history of foreigners conspiracy war fare is now waging in the most prestigious in our country particularly in Darfur region.

The African Union have plans to bring this war to end peacefully, but nothing has been successful to date because of non-African state conspiracy against Republic of Sudan sovereignty. The AU peace process is currently mediating between the Government of Sudan (GOS) and the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) but again no concrete progress has been made for whatever reason it might be. Another parallel initiative sponsored by Libya is launching another effort to reconcile the non-Darfur signatories of DPA with the GOS, but no signs are showing that there will be a way to succeed in mediating the two warring parties because simply foreigners “Conspiracy“.

Another attempt to end the war peacefully was the April 1997 Peace Agreement between the GOS and the United Democratic Salvation Front (UDSF) leaders. SSUDA/SSDF belief’s that Agreement, if honored by the international community would fully address the grievances of the people of the Sudan, however, the westerners power has failed to honor the Agreement, because their slogan of the so called “regime change” agenda.

REJECTION OF COLONIALISM

SSUDA rejects the attempt of some Western Powers to divide peoples of Sudan in order to realize their colonial dreams. SSUDA embraces African Charter against colonialism that was adopted by the first African generation that struggled against Western imperialism. Although Sudan is politically independent, there are Western Powers that want to perpetuate colonialism through economic and diplomatic threats with an intention of grabbing Sudan’s natural resources. SSUDA has a national responsibility to protect Sudan from colonialism and imperialism.

SOLUTION ON DARFUR PROBLEM
It is the position of SSUDA that the problem of Darfur was resolved when the government of Sudan signed Darfur Peace Agreement (DPA) with Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) in 2006. The non-signatories to the DPA should therefore support and join the DPA since it is the only agreement that resolved the political problem of the region.

SSUDA rejects the attempt of some colonial powers to send UN forces to Sudan since the government is capable of maintaining law and order in the region. The African Union forces whose mandate is to monitor the implementation of the peace shall be reinforced by the security organs of the state of Sudan to maintain order by protecting (DPA) in the region. SSUDA/SSDF rejects UN’s call to send international forces to region because the government of Sudan is capable of monitoring peace in Darfur with African Union (AU) help.

THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT

It is the position of SSUDA that the crimes committed in Darfur are similar to crimes committed by Zulus and White extremists in South Africa before Nelson Mandela was elected. The problem of human rights violations in the Sudan can be addressed through Truth and Reconciliation Commissioned which is already set up by the government as per the Darfur Peace Agreement. Individuals who are deemed to have committed grave human rights abuses should be prosecuted by the justice system of the state of Sudan.

The crimes committed in Darfur were perpetrated by non-state actors who violated the laws of Sudan and should be deemed as crimes committed as a result of tribal clashes in the region. The Sudan’s judiciary is known for dealing with tribal crimes since the country is composed of various ethnic groups who sometimes clash over grazing lands.

The ICC’s attempt to colonize the Sudan’s judiciary is the violation of the sovereignty of the state of Sudan and is condemned by the SSUDA. The state of Sudan is not a failed state without government institutions that can prosecute crimes committed in Darfur. Sudan has been independent since 1956 without experiencing the situation of Somalia

SSUDA now appeal to the international community first and foremost to support concrete efforts to realize a just peace for the people of Sudan. Our people need the right to a fair democracy. Too many of our fathers, brothers, and even sisters and mothers have died.

We would like to point out however, that through history we are pastoralists and agriculturalists people. It is war and the purposeful destruction of the moral of the civilian population that has interrupted our ability to maintain the needs of our own population.

We appeal to you to promote those efforts, which will help us to be educated, industrious, and self-governing. We face many challenges in this capacity because of the long-running war and yes, we are in need of international intervention in capacity of humanitarian contributions; but not political conspiracies.

SSUDA/SSDF would not reject even an expansion the formation of a peace-keeping force under African Union (AU) that would help us to create the structures within which the aspirations of the people of Sudan could be made clear by ballot.
