Aug 31, 2006 (UNITED NATIONS) — Attached a letter dated 17 August 2006 from the UN Secretary-General addressed to the President of the UN Security Council transmitting a letter to the SG from President Omar Al Bashir to the SG and the plan of the Government of Sudan for the restoration of stability and protection of civilian s in Darfur.
The Sudanese president in his proposed plan suggests deployment of regular army troops and SLM Minawi troops in the region.
As the original plan is written in Arabic, the English and the Arabic versions are attached.
