July 23, 2012 (ADDIS ABABA) — Attached is the full text of the propositions made by the the government of South Sudan to settle the outstanding issues they two countries are negotiating in the Ethiopian capital.
"South Sudan’s proposed Agreement on Friendly Relations & Cooperation (AFRC) aims to achieve permanent and lasting peace, security and prosperity for both nations," said a press statement released by the South Sudanese government on Monday.
The AFRC was handed on Sunday 22 July to the Sudanese government and the African Union mediation "with concrete proposals to comprehensively resolve all outstanding issues with the Sudan before the 2 August 2012 deadline," said Pagan Amum South Sudan’s chief negotiator.
