Sudanese security tortures Darfuris following protests over Darfur exams

April 16, 2008 (LONDON) — A Sudanese rights watchdog said concerned about the fate of an unknown number of Darfuris arrested following student protests in Khartoum. At least some of those detained have suffered serious physical abuse in custody.

Darfuri students at Sudanese universities in Khartoum demonstrated on April 14 against a decision to make high school pupils in North Darfur sit an altered version of nationwide university entrance exams. Darfur version of university entrance exams reportedly includes additional questions not present in the rest of the country.

The Sudan Organisation Against Torture (SOAT) said in a statement issued today from London that "A large number of Darfuris – including students and graduates – were detained in connection with the 14 April demonstrations and charged with crimes including rioting and causing public nuisance."

The rights group reported the case of Bashir Abdala Adam, 32 years old, employee of the Nana Consultancy Company, who was arrested by agents of the Sudanese security service from the gates of Khartoum University at 3.30pm on 14 April.

Adam, a Darfur native, was severely beaten by the security agents. AT around midnight he and eight others students were transported to a police station in Khartoum North. The police initially had refused to accept the detainees because they had been physically abused, SOAT said.

Le security service, according to the rights group, left Adam after beating him. However, they arrested him again during the second day, April 15, and confiscated medical papers referring him for specialist treatment for injuries and beat with sticks, piping and wire, before releasing him late during the night.

Darfur students organisations which are very active in the Sudanese universities and Khartoum particularly accuse the ruling National Congress Party of deliberately concocting this difficult version for Darfur student because "the NCP wants to maintain Darfur in the marginalization."

In the veracity, Darfur suppose not to raise any complaint about the Ruling NCP in Khartoum, from the past Darfur and Khartoum Arabs are under one categories, in any aspect of wealth sharing and government position.

Infect it is actually good to know things from the beginning than to surprise you in the middle now at this time there is no way out for Darfur to quit Arabs, Darfur was thinking that Arabs is the best than all of the other ethnic groups in Sudan,

The Darfur crisis which started in 2004 that was the stage Darfur took initiative to realize the horrific manners of this ethnic known as Arabs NCP of Khartoum

In the beginning of the Civil war decade of Sudan. Darfur and the Arabs was united as one body to kills the infidel i.e. Christian Southerners whom they call them in such a way.

Darfur was the most of the best administration leading of the battle against Southerners known as JIHAD. Darfur figure out what is known as JIHAD FI SHEBIL ALLAH that means if you die in the land of South Sudan, which means you will be going to JANNA. (Heaven Paradise) of any Muslim

Darfur organize this JIHAD FI SHEBIL ALLAH movement in order to convince some youth to joint this movement for killing of the Southern Sudanese just for he sake of going to JANNA in case if you re kill in the battle

So please, my dear fellow brothers’ Darfur I would like to appreciate what you are now facing in Khartoum and also in Darfur genocide and it is still not to the level of our suffering of southern Sudan. Let Darfur test it and feel it like the way they was killing the southern Sudan ethnic groups for 21 years

Why just to cry for only 4 years of war, we was been suffering for long period, every parts of the globe knows our pain.

I hope it is sensible for the entire Darfur who can read this article!!!!

Thanks you very much for your good affliction
