September 23, 2011 (WASHINGTON) – The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement- North (SPLM-N) today urged the US Congressmen to support the imposition of a no-fly zone in Sudan, warning that the ruling National Congress Party (NCP) in Khartoum represents a threat to South Sudan independence.

US special envoy for Sudan Princeton Lyman rejected last week previous appeals by the SPLM-N and other rebel groups in Darfur for a no-fly-zone in the Blue Nile, Darfur and Southern Kordofan, saying that means more violence and military confrontation on the ground.

However the SPLM-N Secretary General Yasir Arman accused the Sudanese government of killing thousands of civilians in the war affected regions and reiterated before Congressmen his appeal for a no-fly-zone in the three regions of Darfur, Kordofan and Blue Nile.

"We count on you to lead the international community to put an end to these atrocities by imposing a no-fly zone from Darfur to Blue Nile. That is the only way to protect millions of Sudanese civilians," said Arman in a testimony before the Congressmen at the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission on Thursday.

The fight between the SPLM-N rebels and the Sudanese army started in Southern Kordofan last June after the contested election of a governor form the NCP in May.

After the refusal of President Omer al-Bashir of a framework agreement signed on 28 June between the NCP government and the SPLM-N , the latter formed an alliance aiming to overthrow the NCP regime with Darfur rebel groups.

As expected the clashes erupted in the Blue Nile three months later on 1 September.

Arman pressed the US lawmakers to put more pressures on the government. He stressed that Sudan’s ruling "National Congress does not respond to niceties; they respond only to pressures". He further went to say that the "relative peace" the US brought in the Sudan through the independence of the South Sudan is now threatened by the "fanatic leaders" in Khartoum.

"They talking a lot about the new Republic of South Sudan as an escape goat for their own problems," stressed the SPLM-N secretary general.

Among the presence there were Congressman Frank Wolf and Congressman Jim McGovern, both co-chair the Congressional Human Rights Caucus and strong supporters of South Sudan independence.

Arman told the caucus that they sought in vain to negotiate a peaceful solution to the southern Kordofan conflict but as the Sudanese president refused the Addis Ababa deal and the fight extended to the Blue Nile.

"We believe the only way left for the Sudanese people is to overthrow the National Congress regime and Bashir," he suggested before to add that fears of political chaos in the country are unjustified if Bshair is removed.

"Sudan is a country that is seven thousand years old. It is much older than Bashir and its fate and future cannot lie on a man who is wanted by the ICC. The Sudanese political life and political actors are much more mature than in many countries that have recently witnessed change."

He also said that South Sudan’s stability can only be achieved through a democratic regime in Khartoum. According to Arman the Sudan and South Sudan "can be re-united again in a union of two independent countries". This confederation will pave the way for strategic relations between the two neighbours and peace and stability in the region, he concluded. .

For sure Sudan is more than 7000 years old and certainly it’s fate will not depend upon a Traitor who begs foreigners to punish it’s people.

The Sudanese people now know the full name of the game and as well know the names of the traitors. Sudanese have never ever been so united to protect their country against treason.

It is rediculous to say that Sudan is threatening the RoSS. It is a lie through which he wants to gain sympathy to the war which they are waging in Blue Nile and South Kordufan.Nobody in sudan is supporting this dirty war and there will be no place for Arman, Agar and Al hilou.

The only threat to the RoSS is the so called SPLA-N. If they want to fight a proxy war then it will sure extend to the South and go deep in it.There is full peace between South and North and the CPA was fully implemented by the government of Sudan and SPLA should disarm according to the CPA or face the consequencies. The only threat to this peace is Arman who is neither from Blus Nile or South Kordufan. He is only runing after his futile dreams of being something while he is nothing.

I think someone should tell Arman - South Sudan needs saving from itself not the North. He went to congress to call for Americans to protect him and South Sudan from the North. If that is not treason - i dont know what is !!

The United Nations estimates more than 3, 000 people have been killed and over 300,000 others displaced in the escalating violence in South Sudan since January.

The toll is as a result of 410 incidents involving ethnic and militia fighting across the newly independent country, it said.

"So far, the number who have been recorded killed is more than 3,000. Unfortunately that is almost three times the number for the whole of last year,” Ms Lise Grande, the country’s UN Humanitarian Coordinator said on Wednesday.

Ms Grande said the conflicts had caused the displacement of 304, 405 people whose humanitarian situation was a big concern.

"You can see that is a huge number. I think it is disappointing that —you know — in this very historic year of independence you have such a large number of displaced," she said, adding that the displaced persons faced increasing food insecurity.

Master,if you say 3,000 killed in South Sudan, there is difference here between those killed in cattle rustling and those killed by their own government, these numbers were not killed by government but what about 300,0000 killed by NCP and its militias Janjaweed in Darfur. your master in Khartoum understate the power of the SPLM North, those Arman, AL-Hilou, and Agar are well known figures during the war, you guys trying to understate them, but you will regret later for refusing Addis Abba peace framework. what I know as situation goes, Khartoum will try to calm down when they feel the heat by Re- accept of Addis Abba peace framework agreement, which already has no validation anymore, the only viable remaining right now for SPLM/A is the regime change.

        Mapour,

Are you talking about the 3000 black south sudanese been masscared during the last months in the RoSS in more than 410 violent incidence? If you are talking about that , it is non of our bussiness, it is your bussiness.

We are not interessed in touching south Sudan , we donnot need to! The marginalized people of south sudan are suffering enough already. It is unfair and inhuman to increase their plight. We are interested in peace so that the poor marginalized southerners will have a better life. Chasing the futile personal dreams of people like Arman will make the life of southerners miserable.

        To Mr Dinka!

US will not and cannot impose a no-fly zone on Sudan, I am not worried about that. I can understand , if you are threatening me with your own power and strenth. To threaten with somebody else is stupid! More-over US is no longer a threat to anyone; they are quite busy with their empty pocket, which seems is not going to be full any time soon; if at all. So think about weaning yourself of " foreign aid" and try to be a man who depends upon himself.

Yes Mapuor, you have said it, Araman was right when he say, NCP try to scapegoat on South Sudan for their own failure, and if they dare to continue interfering in our affairs,no doubt Khartoum will pay its consequences, those of Ali and Master write like they wants to tell us new things about Khartoum. they are well known of destabilize South by harboring Militias, and Khartoum is known throughout the history as a save haven for wrong elements that destabilize south Sudan and the world at large, such as harboring Osma Ben Laden.

Arman is a hero who is well acknowledged with the problems of Sudan, he is capable of persuading the world to act on behave of people of Sudan to enforced No-fly zone in all areas of marginalizes, Darfur,Southern Kordofan, and Blue Nile. NCP supporters are showing signs of disparate because their devil is waning and near collapse, is just a matter of time and the new Sudan will be achieved.

This is bigger that Bashir or anyone else. These zionist traitors like Arman are part of a bigger picture of controlling North Africa and the Arab world. It doesnt matter of it was bashir in power or anyone else. As long as they are not part of this agenda they will be labelled as terrorist and brought down. Gadaffi was their close ally 2 weeks before they stabbed him in the back. Because he had radicle ideas that threatened the Zionist control of the world economy and their plan for a global collapse - so they control it all.

Like Bush said - either you are with Us or the terrorist. This is a clear message to all muslims. If you resist we will fight you and target you. The final days are coming and this is the real test of faith to all those who believe ! All those who fall for this hypocricy under the banner of democracy and human rights will fall into the Anti-christ trap. Traitors like Arman and Aggar are going to push and push. They have bigger powers behind them that plot and plan to destroy one of the only resistance in the world. South Sudan and its ignorant evangelical nut cases believe in this - blindly supporting the white zionist man - believing it will bring them salvation - How wrong are they !

Have patience brother Ali - The truth is coming soon. They will know - but it will be too late and they will bite their tongues.

      Master,

I have no worries at all, brother. My believeing is very firm in the Truth. The Truth is prevailing now. Those who donnot see it , should check their eyes! The world is changing and the rules of the game are changing!

As you mentioned, it is not about Basheer or NCP, it is about SUDAN. Sudanese have never been united as today . There is no place among us for traitors. Period!

If the truth is to prevail and it will prevail; we will prevail.

        Mohammed Ali,
I am wondering from which region/part of Sudan did you come from ? I like to address a person base on where he or she comes from this will make it much better to make my point across to the individual. I myself I am a black African from "Wadi Halfa-dungulah" but I have been out of the country for quiet a long time. We originally came from Aswan in Egypt. I see no reason why one will say too much in support of a government that is corrupted, fake, and cripple. Sudan is a beautiful country but it has been dis-mental down by corrupted thieve who comes in power through military coup. Yet the majority of the Sudanese people have taken the situation wrong had it been they are Arabs by origin, black African, or colored people of black descend who claimed that they are Arabs. These people were all blinded by the regime of Omer el Bashir and his click in the NCP/NIF leadership who threaten people. These have caused many Sudanese to live in fear of speaking the truth or denying the government misbehavior.

So Mohammed I see no reason for you to perceive that all Sudanese do think alike or just like you. Most people deny the fact that there are lots of bad things going on Sudan just in fear of being persecuted. Please don’t deny these facts or else you too is deceiving yourself into thinking that Sudan will not change for the better if Omer el Bashir and his bang of gangs leave. I pray for Allah/God to work his miracle to let these people go and Sudan will one day get united again because there is a lot in Sudan than just the cultural, religious, ethnicity, and languages difference. For those who called themselves Arab although they know well that they are colored of black descend they don’t need to live in denial for not accepting who they are. Because nothing will change them since the fact will remain the same just for them to know and accept that they are indeed black African nothing else. I always pity the Sudanese people had it been black or colored who claimed that they are Arab although they know well that they are not. Most Sudanese think that religion, language, and names will make them change automatically to become someone else (Arab) and in the case of the Sudanese is becoming an Arab based on religion and language. This is because they are too obsess with Arabia and Arabism than their own culture of black African of Sudan. I love Sudan from the southern tip in the border with Uganda and far north to Wahi Halfa. It is my home my country divided or united it will always be my home (Sudan). The split of the into two is just temporary and the reunification of Sudan is coming soon when all dictators are all gone.

So Mohammed Ali, which one is you? Arab by religion or by name. secondly, which part of Sudan did you come from? I have a revelation for you.

      Even your name suggests imperialism.

Blaming the Zionists for your atrocities wont make what your likes have been doing in Sudan any less of a crime.

You bigoted bastards have been murdering Muslims as well Christians for decades in Sudan, so re-educate yourself if at all you gained an education about Sudan’s history.

I don’t believe in international intervention but for the people who are being massacred from the air, a no fly zone is their only hope for a quick end to the crimes committed by SAF and Khartoum. The arguments that you people use is so funny, its childish.

Khartoum is next in the list. As " the Arab spring" is eminent, and "Arman" will be leading that change.
