December 14, 2011 (LONDON) — The deputy leader of the rebel Sudan People’s Liberation Movement- North Abdel Aziz Hilu called for a popular uprising in the Sudanese capital to overthrow the government of president Omer al-Bashir.

The SPLM-N is fighting the government forces in South Kordfan since the 6th of June of this year after governing the region together with the ruling National Congress Party in line with a peace deal inked in 2005 with the SPLM.

The row between the former peace partners started when the SPLM-N accused the NCP of rigging May elections for the position of governor and regional parliament. The clashes erupted after calls in Khartoum to disarm the SPLM-N as the South Sudan was heading to secede.

In two separate videos released today, the SPLM-N’s deputy chairman Hilu called on the inhabitants of the Sudanese capital to revolt against the government and to achieve regime change peacefully.

In his appeal to the two millions of Sudanese in Khartoum, the rebel leader said "Khartoum (regime) neglected its responsibilities to provide medical treatment, education and all the basic necessities."

He further accused the NCP government of directing its efforts for war against the marginalized regions of Darfur, Blue Nile and South Kordofan.

Speaking from South Kordofan where he fights against the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF), Hilu also called on the Sudanese soldiers to desert the army and to not die to defend an "unjust regime".

He called on theSudanese army soldiers to turn their arms against the regime to protect "their families and the marginalized majority of Sudanese people".

It is estimated that about the half of the Sudanese army soldiers are recruited from Darfur and Kordofan. The army recently enrolled militias members form the Nuba Mountains to fight the rebels described as "agents of South Sudan that betrayed their cause".

The Sudanese president formed last week the first national government after the South Sudan’s secession including dissident members of the SPLM from the Nuba Mountains particularly.

Also a new party called Sudanese Popular Movement (SPM) is registered in Khartoum by former SPLM members as Danile Kodi, former South Kordofan governor and Tabitha Boutros, former national health minister.

The SPLM-N and Darfur rebel groups signed last November an alliance pact to topple the Sudanese government but they failed to bring opposition forces to this structure which aims to overthrow politically and militarily the regime.

Sudanese president rejected last July a framework agreement brokered by the former South African President Thabo Mbeki saying talks should be inside the country without foreign mediator.

He also said the agenda should be limited to the implementation of a protocol related to the two regions included in a peace agreement signed with the SPLM in January 2005.

Thanks Hilu, that is the only solution to oust out these crooks in Khartoum, otherwise they couldn’t understand that you can get annoy too. They behave like Moneys and Squirells in the forest and I hope they are going to understand this time round. They understood better during the war of 22 years but now they are going to add more lessons to their knowledge. Thank you very much for standing firm.

Public uprising is what NCP thugs fear the most. Inshaala, it will not be long before the Sudanese people bring this evil regime down through the popular uprising. Sudanese did it before in October 1964, and again in May of 1985. The last uprising of 1985, started in April, and by the being of May, Jaafer Al-Numary regime collapsed. The signs of uprising have already begun....

Or is it the opposite, you are happy because somebody wants to harm us.I have never seen you wishing us good.After-all nobody will listen to him in Khartoum or even in Kadugli, you are a foreigner improve your country first then come to us, we may follow your example!

Mahammed Ali, thank you for remaining with only "wishes". Nobody would understand, would accept, would do that, in Khartoum and South Kordufan! Everything is just a wish. I hope you are right, then Hilu would not be having some troops fighting along with him now and they are from Sudan itself, inside sudan. You are not right then, Sir Mahammed.

Sir, its pointless trying to reason with the likes of M. Ali, because he cares more about the Palestinian children & women than he does for the children & women of Darfur, S. Kurdofan & Blue NIle.... I guess its that Arabism inspiration.

He doesn’t understand that its not harm we want for the Sudanese people but, equality, dignity and progress for our own people (marginalized African Sudanese).

Mr. Mohammed, for the first time you have talked of caring about the unlawfully killed persons. So do you mean those killed in S.Kurdofan are entitled to the brutal killings, aerial bombardments and withholding of humanitarian?
To us Nubians,AID or whatever the govt withholds will do us no harm so long we’ve a fate to accomplish!

Mr. Ali, You have a tendency to wonder off or miss oranges with apples. Two wrong does not make it right. Khartoum government had killed many of its civilian over 2 decades and that’s a fact. What business do you have with the Palestinian. You should be worried about what Bashir is doing to your people in Sudan. Darfurian are Muslims too you know!.

The SRF are right behind you! As long as the NCP, their supporters (SAF), Intolerance, Racism, Injustice and Inequality are the objectives.

We respect your call for the Nuba and Darfurians within SAF not to defend the unjust regime & for the populace of Khartoum to uprise in peace. Leave the war to SRF.

When freedom is unjustly taken away, its rarely willingly given back by those who take it.

For instance, last week one courageous graduate of electrical engineering publically confronted Nafie Ali Nafie about how coward he is, and how people are frustrated with the ruling regime, NCP.Popular uprising is the only tool that will speed up the fall of al-Bashier regime, thus save what left of the Sudan.....

In few months ago, who knew that Mubarak will be forced to resign; who knew that Al-Gadaafi will be overthrown and killed. Most importantly, who knew that Syrian people will stage unprecedented public uprising against Al-Assad dynasty. Every day, Syrian people risk their life by carrying on the revolution, despite a brutal crackdown by the regime’s security forces...

They are determined not to give up, because they want a freedom, and better future for themselves, their children, and for their children’s children. So, if all these nations did it, then why not Sudanese people. I am quite optimistic that the people will up-rise, and Al-Bashier regime will be toppled. What a better our two nation will be without Al-Bashier regime in power....

Many people talk but not many people risk their lives to stand up for freedom and the rights of the oppressed. But the people of Nuba, the people of Darfur, the people of Blue Nile fight for the freedom of all of us. What will you do for freedom?
