June 3, 2011 (DOHA) — Sudan’s government chief negotiator rejected the involvement of the rebel Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) led by Minniw Minnawi in the Doha process but welcomed his return to finalize the implementation of Abuja peace deal signed five years ago.

Minnawi signed the Darfur Peace Agreement on 5 May 2006 and was appointed a senior presidential assistant from 2006 to 2010. But he lost his position after the general elections of April 2010 and rebelled again. Since, his troops clash with the government forces in Darfur.

"We reject the involvement of Minni Minnawi in the Doha Document for peace in Darfur he is not part of this process," said the government top negotiator Amin Hassan Omer in an interview conducted in Doha after the adoption of a framework text for peace in Darfur.

"He is part of the Abuja peace agreement and there was no reason to denounce the peace pact his signed," in further said.

Minnawi "has no reason to get out of the peace agreement except the arrangements he concluded with the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement," the Sudanese official said.

The rebel leader was residing in Juba for more than 10 months as Khartoum accused the government of southern Sudan of supporting Minnawi’s combatants who clashed several times in North and South Darfur states with the Sudanese army.

Amin said the government is ready to resume talks with him but only on the basis of Abuja peace agreemen.

The Secretary general of the Sudanese Communist Party Ibrahim Nugud who was in Doha to attend the gathering told Sudan Tribune that both Al-Nur and Minnawi have to join the peace process in Doha and pledged that the opposition parties will seek to convince them to join the process.

Amin told Sudan Tribune in a previous statement that Minnawi can be part of Abdel Wahid Nur delegation to Doha when the latter decide to engage talks.

Minnawi and Nur signed last May an alliance agreement and agreed to work together for peace and war.

Delegates from Darfur civil society, displaced people and refugees as well as tribal leaders endorsed a framework document which will serve as ground for any deal to end the eight year old conflict in western Sudan on 31 May in the Qatari capital.

Also the government and rebel Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) said they will sign a peace agreement within two of three weeks while the Justice and Equality Movement welcomed the adoption of the text and said

Part of Abuja agreement yes but now joined to Abdul Wahid Alnur so he will be in Doha to face NCP.Hey this sounds a lession to learn here, if the Minnawis can unite with Alnur for a better ambitions what is the bulshite with the Southern political parties that they can not unite to face a common enemy, Governance is not a one man’s issue but all the politiacal parties. If they(other parties) are not fully involved, how would the rulling party know it’s weekness and Identify it’s strength. SPLM,PLEASE accept the bid for the 2 presidential term in office.
But Bashir is roughly being clever this time by trying to bring his cousins in dafur to his control so that whatever comes of the South to battle, the dafur faction will not break in through the other side to weeken his force. However that is not anything to shake us here what we need is to also be united I mean parties should be united.
As a reader, what do you think is the happenings in DOHA & whay?

Africans are tracing their roots here in Sudan, See how a black purely African shakes hand with the totalitarian regime leader Omar El Bashir the core Islamic sharia who imposed sharia as a law in Sudan. Am urging Darfurians if they don’t unite Omar will finish them one by one saying to one another i don’t have any problem with you, in order to get the advantage of killing on another.
Sudan will be divided into four or five different states with each state will her federal government, the Arabs which are 30% of the total population will be driven back to their homeland Saudia Arabia, and Sudan will once again be United.

dear, brothers Khartoum is playing his cards on a right direction as they are 100% sure of what the declaration of the new Nation can bring in from behind if peace is not signed when they say so, is not part of this it is already a complication to Darfurians, both IDPs,Refugee, different factions and the rest.

South is the first enemy of Khartoum like wise the North to South and the best is not to let the neighbour sleep totally, it is better they are made to fight themselves alone and ICC will not remeber the case but focus will be in the new Nation which is fighting itself at the start.
The worst part is going to be like a tribal one which the sensitive part of it like one time our Vice president put it that way but it was not taken seriously by Us.
Darfuries U should be together as one in order for the peace to be genuin and take lesson from our development money not to be in the hands of corrupt officials like ours in the South, and Now the whole World is saying south is the most corrupt state in the world but I belive we are no. 8 after Sudan.
