August 2, 2102 (JUBA) - Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) South Sudan has announced the appointment of Jashinto Pakon Genye as the new chairman of the bank’s board of
directors, replacing Musa Ndeto, who becomes the KCB Group chairman.

Prior to his appointment, Genya, served as the chairman for both
the KCB South Sudan Audit and Performance Board Committees, having
joined the institution’s South Sudan Board in August 2009.

KCB South Sudan’s Managing Director, John Kimanthi, described Genye as a team leader with vast experience who understands the financial
challenges in South Sudan as a new nation.

“Jashinto Genye understands the financial challenges in the South Sudan financial market and brings with him a passion for innovation and service excellence, both of which will strengthen KCB Bank’s impact in attaining its mission,” said Kimanthi.

The bank, in a 23 July press release, said it welcomes the newly appointed KCB South Sudan Board Chairman, adding that it looks forward to his role in steering the bank for future for success.

Since its inception in South Sudan in May 2006, KCB now operates in all its 10 states, employing about 350 staffs. The bank now boasts of over 85,000 clients in the country.

With new chairman of KCB S.Sudan, he shld immediately review its dealings whose image is tarnished beyond repair. KCB took an opportunity of risks to invest in a war ravaged semi autonomous S.Sudan, yes, however, investment came in with alot financial deceiving by KCB. KCB... ’KENYA CRIMINALS BANK’ fellow country men and women.. to be honest and speak the truth this bank has exploited South Sudan to the maximum, at least now they are putting South Sudanese.. they announced a free-tax profit of 6 Billion in half a year immediately when they established.. this is what they say "BUSINESS IS GOOD IN SOUTH SUDAN WHERE FOREIGN EXCHANGE IS EASY".

      Compatriots,
While it was appreciable to have KCB as the first foreign bank in South Sudan, it is difficult to see what the bank has done for the country’s people and economy. Their banking terms are restrictive; they serve very small sector of society and employ too few South Sudanese and in peripheral jobs compared to Kenyans. I want someone to tell me what projects KCB financed in South Sudan.
