July 31, 2012 (PIBOR) – Pibor county of Jonglei state lacks basic teaching facilities, according to the headteacher of a local school.

Samuel Logidang, who heads Pibor Primary School, told Sudan Tribune that there is insufficient classroom space in his school and they do not have the requisite number of desks or text books.
Pibor Basic primary school, has one permanent building of two classes, constructed by the non-profit organisation, INTERSOS in 2011.
Longidang said the lack of books, chalk, classrooms, desks and permanent classrooms remained a challenge.

He called for the immediate intervention from the government, citing the class eight candidates as the group most affected "since they have no more time left for them to site their final exams”.
“Although we sometimes get help from INTERSOS, we still lack text books to teach our children”, he said. “We normally beg our colleagues who come from Juba to give us text books”.
Pibor Basic primary school has registered 625 pupils, 65 of whom are in primary eight.
Many of Pibor’s schools were destroyed during ethnic clashes raged between August 2011 and February 2012.
