February 15, 2012 (KHARTOUM) – Around 100 former South Sudanese soldiers at the Sudanese army demonstrated in Khartoum for several hours today demanding disbursement of severance pay more than six months after the south seceded and became an independent state.

The ex-soldiers threw rocks at cars driving down the busy Africa Street in the Sudanese capital. Police surrounded the demonstrators but did not attempt to disperse them.

An unidentified spokesperson for the group told the Doha-based Al-Jazeera TV that they want their dues before they leave Sudan back to their homelands after serving loyally in the army.

“We have nothing to do with the south’s separation so that we pay the price by being denied our rights.” he said.

There are around 10,000 southern military officers from different ranks were relieved following the south’s decision to secede from the north.

Al-Jazeera said that it was prevented from taking photos at the scene by Sudanese authorities.

Where are those of Jalaby, Mohamed Ali and others to comment on this demonstrations? The ex-soldiers fought alongside Ingaz without realizing that their due would not be paid at the end of the day regardless of stolen oil of South Sudan and financial bailout by Qatar. Even if Prophet Mohamed tells them about your rights, they will not listen. Come back home, please.

I essentially don’t like the current climate of relationship between North and South Sudan which is based on stealing oil of the South and refusal to pay pension to the Southerners who served passionately in the SAF, Police, Prison and Wildlife.

I advise you guys to join the SRF and dismantle this racist regime, once we have a legitimate government which represents the true reflection of Sudanese society maybe then you shall get your dues. But as of now, to them you’re "abeed" who were only good for killing your own and since you’re discharged, they no longer need to pay you.

      Wake up people!

you betrayed your countrymen in the struggle by turning the guns of the enemies to your brothers and sisters, it is not too late since their spirits (southerners you killed) will forgive if you reckon with your brothers since another war is waging.... very hard decision though....

In fact, this is a matter of cowardness from our Former Southern Soldiers who showed their fate of not being given their incentives or wages. But I doubt for one thing here. If we have 10,000 and 100 Southern Soldiers in Khartoum, than why they do not fired their arms against Khartoum government within Khartoum City? Those ten thousands are battalion compared to Koryom battalion in SPLA.

      Dear Readers.
I think, you need not to blame your brothers to that extend, as i learned from my experience in Sudan, we, the southerners where marginalised that is why some of us who deserve South Sudanese dignity took up arms to fight Khrtm Gvnt.instead we see the way to rescue,so long all the betrayers are pardoned, extend the same.

These 10,000 southern military officers can capture Khartoum and make a Government without begging or protesting for their wages.

Well, shame to slave’s heart table pickers of Omer like Dr Riak and Lam with who never knew what a proud citizen should be.

Enemy’s Slaves can not lead a nation to prosperity. Thanks to God, that Southerns are aware and will not forget these enemy’s Anus lickers.
