February 2, 2012 (JUBA) - Nartisio Loluke Manir, the deputy governor of Eastern Equatoria state on Thursday denied ordering the assault of an official in the state before departing for Juba.

Manir described the allegations that he had ordered the beating of the Director General of the Ministry of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agencies as “just nonsense”.

An anonymous, highly placed source within the state ministry of local government and law enforcement agency on Thursday told Sudan Tribune that deputy himself participated in the beating.

“I was personally present at the ministry when the deputy governor came with some policemen and started harassing staff members. This was taking place within the compound of the ministry. Given the severity of the beating, the Director General was immediately rushed to Torit State Hospital before being referred to Juba Teaching Hospital the same day where he is currently undergoing treatment. Just go to Juba teaching Hospital you will find him there”, the source explained.

Sources attribute Manir’s anger at being relieved from his position as the deputy governor and being reinstated as caretaker deputy governor until the next government is formed.

The same decree transferred the office of deputy governor to the state secretariat and instructed the Director General to assume immediate responsibility of the security of the ministry facility.

The source said despite instructions, the Caretaker Deputy Governor instructed his office manager to report to the Ministry of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agencies and “did not want to listen to the instructions of the Director General”.

He claimed Manir fled the state following the incident in a three-car convoy with nine bodyguards.

The allegations, which Manir refutes, have not been independently verified.

      Akapolon (Mr. Governor),

You must save your government from embarrassment by removing such a reckless senior servant.

This has been his habit since; the case in point is during election when he burnt ballot papers and intimidated returning officers.

      Tongaa robo abitiangina; tolot lorekeng!

that is right brother, but our people don’t need change. one thing i need to understand is if it’s the Governmor who appoint me to that position and he remove me again why i get mad? i should go and orgnize my self for the next election or go back to the party so that party can give you another work to do if you are a really need to serve your people.otherwise you are want to serve yourself.

      Comrade!

You need to know that Deputy Governor so called Nartisio Loluke is not a latuka as you blindly cited here, he is from Lopit who declared themsevlves ever since that they are no longer latuka.
If you want to talk about someone doing wrong please never generalized innocents. Loluke issue is personal which does not deserve messing up like what you said. Be rational rather than emotional

You are just useless guys who don’t have rational minds to create positives out of negatives. Try to advocate for change rather than putting into the shoes of some useless southerners who inculcate disunity among southerners.

    To Louis Lobong,

You can now see the goodness of appointing the failures during elections who now work negatively agianst people. People voted them out because they knew who are they but you foolishly cooprate with them that is why your state became the last in ranking unlike before. I wish will you bring new cabinet who listen to all Eaterners with rational minds regardless of tribes.

what?! this is not true guys! some just desperately want to spoil the good name of Greater Equatoria. Equatorians cannot and will not bow down to such low life behaviors / manners-savagery common in other regions of SS.no matter the size of the problem,Equatorians would always handle it in civilize/professional manner.desperate hooligans wanting to cause chaos in GE will not succeed

your are a puppet of Loluke, you should remember that any government official must respect the government decision! why should he interfere with the director’s role, he should wait until the governor appoint him back. by the way what you say about him is completely NOT true. am not from Toposa, if you go by tribes , am from Lopit , and Loluke is from Lopit. He has failed to unite the Lopit people.

Ladies and Gentlement, it is so unfortunate that a minister for law and order can behave this way, am caught with excess fever if this is really what is happening. I would advice the governor of the state to clean up that cabinet and bring people who are servants not bosses and people proven with good morals from the communities. it is time to give back to the citizens what they missed for decades
