June 29, 2012 (KHARTOUM) – Protests broke out as planned following Friday prayer’s in different parts of Sudan’s capital Khartoum as well as two regional towns amid reports of severe crackdowns by police and security forces, Sudan Tribune has been told.

Protesters outside of the Sudanese Parliament against the National Security Forces Act, 2010 (Reuters)First outbreak of demonstrations was reported in Wad Nubawi Mosque in Khartoum’s sister-city of Omdurman where around 300 protesters including members of the Ansar sect of the opposition National Umma Party (NUP) started chanting slogans calling for the downfall of the government as soon as the prayer ended.

Witnesses said that police forces supported by plain clothed security agents fired heavy teargas and rubber bullets on the protesters inside the mosque.

Activists say that the protests are currently spreading across other parts of Omdurman, including Ombada area.

Simultaneously, protests erupted in Al-Haj Youssef and Shambat neighbourhoods in Khartoum North, also known as Bahri, where activists say police and security agents are firing heavy tear gas and arresting protesters.

Activists are also reporting that demonstrations erupted following Friday prayer in the central market in Kassala town in the eastern region as well as in Al-Obayid town in North Kordofan State.

The current protest movement in Sudan started two weeks ago as the government moved to implement a set of anti-austerity measures including cuts of fuel subsides in order to make up for what officials say is a budget deficit of $2.4 billion US.

Since then, the protests have been widening with protesters across several parts of the country burning tires, blocking roads and chanting slogans calling for the downfall of the government.

More updates to follow.

Sudan will soon rump up with mass demonstration like Tunis, Libya, and Egypt unless this current government heed the voices of protesters and responses on their demand. Not Ansar party but all Sudanese citizen got tried with Bashir.

The Arab Spring is blowing South. It is in Khartoum now, who is next? Juba, Kampala and the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa may not be immune to this. Let us watch and see how the whole thing unfold. Perhaps it is the promise of God that we would bring Him gift and He would set us free from all these self serving leaders.

1- inorder to be given a key for heaven’s door, you must kill a black South Sudanese.
2- killing a black person is not a sin before Alah.
3- Islamic is the only holy religion in Sudan and any one who rejected it deserve to be killed.
4- South Sudanese are the incurable diseases to Khartoum, let them get independent so that Khartum remain healthy. Those were his words when Sudan was still one....

To North Sudan, it’s just a matter of time before the killing starts. Bashir has killed 2.5 million in the south and almost 1 million in Darfur. Bashir is the world’s most wanted criminal for genocide, mass atrocities, displacement, and extreme poverty in both Sudan’s. Bashir must hang!.

We want peace and the only way to have diplomatic ties with Northerners is to depose despot Bashir. The damned have no room to rule Sudanese any more if you know what I mean. Tyrrant Bashir should cede power to abled leader and stop committing atrocties to innocent and poor Sudanese, therefore we have had enough of his suffering. Bashir needs Sudanese to deal with him excessively.

You have to realise that you chose separation from Sudan. Now you are foreigners an have no business interfering in Sudan’s affairs or deciding who is best to rule us. This tentative attempt at starting a revolution died when southernor and SPLM/N Agar and the rest started to support it. Because Sudanese people know who their enemy is, and know who is trying to break Sudan up.
