Warrap State Warrap State

Warrap State in South Sudan borders the disputed region of Abyei, which is claimed by both north Sudan and South Sudan. Sudan says Abyei is part of South Kordofan State. A referendum to decide the future of Abyei was due to take place in 2011 but political differences between Khartoum and Juba scuppered the process.
Within South Sudan Warrap State borders Northern Bahr el Ghazal, Western Bahr el Ghazal, Western Equatoria, Lakes and Unity states.
